Paul was great to work with- very straight forward, transparent, and thorough. And our pool turned out beautifully- highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience working with Paul and his team to build our pool and transform our backyard. From start to finish, the quality of the work and attention to detail were excellent -- everything turned out beautifully, and we couldn't be happier with how it looks. Paul was actually recommended to us by two different people, and now we understand why. He has a vast knowledge of pool construction and holds a C‑53 pool builder's license, which not all contractors have -- that really gave us confidence in his expertise. From the very beginning, Paul took the time to meet with us, listen carefully, and make sure he understood exactly what we wanted. Once the permits were in place, the project was completed in a reasonable timeframe, with workers consistently on site making steady progress. Even after the job was finished, a few tiles needed repair and he made sure to take care of them. It's clear he takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about his clients. We highly recommend Paul and his company to anyone looking to create a beautiful, well‑crafted backyard space. read more

Let my start by describing my process and trying to find a contractor that would be easy to work with and would give me a bid. I contacted five or six different contractors some would reschedule appointments and say they were on their way. I couldn't get an accurate estimate from three or four of them. Some of them said we had to hand dig due to the eaves on our garage being low. It was quite discouraging to say the least. I finally found Paul at Allstate pools. He was very punctual with his appointment and discussed what our wants and needs were. He even had two of his subcontractors come out to make sure that they could fit their equipment in the space that we had to get in the backyard. I was shocked after the experience that I had, and immediately asked for a complete bid which we changed a couple times as we wanted to add more features. Paul was there every step of the way and would show up as subcontractors were starting on the next process. The day of the plaster was sprayed. He was pretty much there all day to make sure everything went smooth. A year and a half later and anytime I have questions or concerns. He is always there to help me with what I need. Thank you Paul for all you do. read more

I agree with the other positive reviews that I have read about Paul, his company, and his great workers. Paul clearly stood-out among other bidders to add a SPA to my existing pool. He has shown proven knowledge in his business and great integrity in overseeing the process on your behalf. He listens well and looks after your requirements with creative options and great follow up. I recently contacted Paul for some advice on my pool equipment (2 1/2 years after my project was completed) and he significantly helped me out. He also came to my home to be sure the of the components. Thanks again Paul. I wholeheartedly endorse Allstate Pools & Spas. Five Stars. read more

Paul at Allstate Pools & Spas took great care of us when we got a new pool recently. He's an honest man who works with the best crews. They built a beautiful pool, spa and deck for us that was done on time and on budget. Our neighbors even told us how smoothly and quickly the proceed went compared to other neighbors that had pools built. Contracting with a pool company was a stressful task. We've all heard horror stories and we knew nothing about pool building. Ultimately, it was Paul's responsiveness and positive personality that won him the business. And those traits continued throughout the process. A recommend Allstate Pools 100%. read more

Paul is a great pool contractor. He met with us, answered all questions, and provided us a great 3d rendering of what he could provide us. He also put us in contact with a good financing company as we financed half of the total cost for our pool. The project was delayed due to the pandemic, but Paul communicated with us regularly, and in the end we got a great pool that my family is happy with. Paul and his team were professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend All State Pools to anyone looking for quality work and a pool you will love. read more

Allstate built my pool about 5 years ago. Beautiful job and very happy in the end. Great setup, high bond-beam, excellent masonry skills. We recently needed a repair to the spillway from the spa to the pool as the grout had chipped a bit. Paul at Allstate completed the work and I am very happy with the results. He changed up the grout that was used to be more flexible. This was about 5 months ago and I haven't had any issues since. Paul was easy to communicate with, great follow-up and good to do business with. I am happy to provide this recommendation as I understand he now runs the company. Great Job. Appreciate the repair. Pictures say a thousand words. If you want a high end pool without the headaches of bad craftsmanship then these are your guys. Not only did I have Allstate do my pool but also my whole back yard! Almost half an acre. Dennis the owner along with Richard Babcock the designer have a great eye for exotic looks. They created a 3D video online that can be viewed by going to Bartron Household on youtube. Believe it or not it turned out even better than the video! Our backyard is truly a oasis that we will enjoy for years to come. If you are serious about building a quality pool then call these guys and have Richard come and give you an estimate. We paid $2000 for a custom layout but they credited it toward the pool. We are happy we called Allstate and look forward to calling them again for another pool build. THANKS ALLSTATE TEAM! read more

We selected Allstate 5 years ago to build a highly customized pool in Los Angeles with high pressure water features/spouts, an infinity edge spilling over into a trough, Jacuzzi, special lighting and more. The result was spectacular. The workmanship was 99% (1 point off for an outdoor switch failure which was fixed). We spend almost every day by the pool and love it. Pure Swim maintains the pool and we're very pleased. Yelp crashed when I tried to upload a picture ... so believe me when I say it's beautiful and functional. read more

We wanted to resurface our pool and replace the concrete patio and decking. We didn't know what steps to take, what products and supplies we needed, where to get them, etc. We wanted to hire a company to oversee everything and guide us along the path. We wanted to have one contact point for everything. After a lot of research, we ended up going with Paul Chilopoulos at Allstate Pool and Spas. From the moment we started working with him, we felt at ease about our decision. Paul is a professional in all aspects of the word. He does what he says he is going to do and does it when he says he will. He gave us great suggestions of what to do and what our options were. He's a pleasure to work with. And the companies he brings in to do the work are top notch craftsmen. We couldn't have asked for anyone better. And we love our pool. read more

My husband and I were in the process of home buying and one of our requirements was a house with a pool or room to build one. After many months of searching we finally came across a beautiful home, however it did not have a pool:( We then reached out to Allstate Pool and Spas and had the pleasure of speaking with Paul. From the moment we spoke he was very professional and informative about the process of building our dream pool. At the time of our consultation, he took his time to explain the process and amount of work it takes to build a pool. He did not make us feel rushed, even with the amount of questions we had. Sadly, we did not go through with purchasing that home due to a high water table issue that was going to haunt the production of building a pool. A few months passed and we are now back in escrow with a house that has a pool. We reached out to Paul once again and he was once again, there to lend a hand and answer our questions about the current pool. We highly recommend Allstate Pool and Spas for all your pool needs. Paul is an exceptional man and his passion to serve his community shines through. read more

The best pool contractor ever! It was July 4 2021 and I was in a competitive house buying situation in the crazy LA market and before pulling the trigger I wanted to confirm that I would be able to put in a pool. My real estate agent gave me Paul's number and I texted him. And he texted me back-on July 4th. Not only that but he told me what I would need to be able to put in a pool (3 ft clearance for the digger, 5 feet variance from the power lines) and he spent time on Google maps checking out if there were other pools in the neighborhood to see if it was likely that we could get a permit. All for a complete stranger. Fast forward I bought the house and I wanted to start the pool construction. I met with some contractors and set up meetings with a lot more that didn't show up. Of course I met with Paul and from the very beginning he was kind and sincere and helped me think through what would be best to do with the space I had. But more than that he completely managed my expectations and every step of construction was done well and exactly in the time frame he had laid out for me in the beginning. There were no delays or unexpected glitches. Everything went like clock work. All of the teams were courteous and friendly and kept things as clean as possible when you are digging a huge hole in the ground. The tilers were amazing. They did such a great and careful job. In the end, my pool looks fabulous and is exactly what I wanted. I told Paul I wanted to be swimming in it by Aug ! and I was! I heard so many horror stories about pool contractors who disappeared and left jobs part way through. Paul is the real deal. I recommend him without any hesitation! read more

Paul was our choice out of multiple contractors that we interviewed for our pool/spa build. He was extremely responsive, listened to what we wanted, and provided great suggestions. He came to see the site and answer questions several times before we signed a contract and never made us feel as though we were wasting his time. We felt we could trust him with this massive project and were very happy with our choice. Paul communicates well and kept us informed throughout the process. He navigated an extremely difficult pandemic environment, with labor shortages, supply chain constraints, etc and kept the project moving while not cutting any corners and delivering a fantastic final product. All of his subcontractor teams were top notch, did fantastic work and were pleasant to work with. Paul has continued to follow up with us well after the last check was cut to answer any questions and make sure that we were satisfied, which we certainly have been. Building a pool is a big, invasive undertaking and you need someone of Paul's character, knowledge, and professionalism to get you smoothly to the finish line. We love our new pool so much! Paul from Allstate Pools & Spas delivers beautiful, quality work! Paul was so thorough and detail oriented, and was always several steps ahead of the project and time table with his communication. He kept us constantly updated on specific dates and times - and he kept promises! His teams of professionals were such expert craftsmen and so polite and respectful of our concerns. We know how hard Paul worked on every aspect of the job, and getting materials and parts during this difficult time - we hear how everyone's projects are behind schedule because of the back ordered materials in the supply chain, and it's amazing that it was completed on time. He really took good care of us and wanted the best for us. He always got back to me promptly with answers to my questions. He listens to what you want and has great ideas about what works, what doesn't work, and how to make your ideas come to life. Paul did the grading, the pool, the yard drainage, and the retaining wall. After handling the new patio and turf installation contracting myself - even though that work was also great quality - if I were to do it again, I would prefer to have Paul at Allstate design and install the entire backyard renovation himself! It's beautiful and perfect for our home! read more

Building a pool is a major investment and undertaking, so selecting the right contractor is critical. They say a farmer's best fertilizer is his own footprint. What sets this company apart is the hands-on approach of the new owner, Paul C. Paul oversaw my job from soup to nuts, starting with a detailed contract that laid out each step of the project and the cost, so there were no surprises. What was pleasantly surprising was the speed and quality of the work. Paul has a top-drawer crew for each stage of the work that specialize in pool construction, and he has installed high quality equipment. Paul assisted us with the subjective decisions like tile, plaster and coping, and we could not be happier with the finished product. read more

Wow! How unusual it is to find a company this honest! I spoke to Paul about issues we were having with our pool and interest in re-plastering. Paul listened to everything that my husband and I said and then told us that he could do our job, but that he would be more expensive! He said our job was actually much simpler than we had thought and that we could get by with a good subcontractor. He then explained the entire process and gave estimates of cost. He then even made recommendations! And all of this happened in the early evening after he had already put in a full day. I so appreciated his honesty. If I had to build a new pool, Paul at All-State Pools would be my first call. read more

Allstate built our pool over 8 years ago. This last year, our spa developed a fluke random crack in the Diamond Brite. Cosmetic issues are not covered under the structural warranty, but Dennis patched/repaired the damage and he had it repaired on his dime! Most contractors would simply tell you to go pound sand. Dennis has been building pool for over 30 years. He loves what he does for a living and it shows in his plans and finished product. Unlike other pool contractors, Dennis did not charge us for a 3D rendering and he had fantastic suggestion during the design phase. If you want a high quality, done right pool, AllState Pools is your company. read more

Worst nightmare ever with this company. We had contracted them for a pool and BBQ Island. Once the big whole is in your backyard, the demeanor changes completely. Difficult for me to contain myself the day they had my wife in tears. The BBQ Island was the worst built island probably EVER built. The "bar" portion itself started to crack, the tiles coming apart. All in all today this island can't even be safely used and needs to be entirely torn down. The absolute worst part about this company is their 180 degree change once the contract is signed and your yard has a massive whole. Battled the idea to sue these assholes for a long time. Be ready to do so if you deal with them. You've been warned! read more

Calling this company was painful. A woman if she was even an adult answered and when I asked for a particular person there, she said she could not give out personal information???? I simply asked for a particular person.... she stalled, stuttered then I asked if I could speak to someone else she put me on hold for several minutes and said no one was available. I asked her to confirm my appt, gave her my name and she couldnt even look it up..... Really unprofessional operation having people answer the phone of there business tha cant do anything more then pick up a receiver.... I run a management company and will definitely not call this place again read more

This is the kindest, most professional, most on-top-of-it company and I was thrilled with the process from start to finish. When I was looking to install a pool, I talked to/got estimates from 5 companies. Paul from AllState was by far the most personable and caring individual I spoke to from any of the companies I got estimates from. Paul went above and beyond designing and 3-D imaging custom pool pictures for me before I made my decision to even go with them. The other companies said I would have to pay $1000 for a picture of what the pool would look like. That was crazy to me. How could I make a decision if I couldn't see the final product? Paul even went through line by line of the estimate with me so I knew what I was paying for so there were no surprises. When he did this, I also was able to see that other pool companies left out several items from the estimate, I assume so they could come in lower and get my business, only to hike up the price once the job started. So I ended up going with AllState and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Price-wise, it was exactly what they quoted me. Jasko was out at my site constantly checking to make sure we were moving quickly and efficiently through each step of the process. Paul and Jasko both were available by phone/text anytime I needed them or had any questions. They also got my pool done incredibly quickly so that my family could enjoy it over Christmas. The pool is gorgeous and I am so happy with it and will recommend AllState to any one who is looking to put in a pool. Also, AllState includes in their estimate a 30-day start up service after your pool is finished, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Rich and Adam who have been amazing during my start up service as well. Start to finish- an incredible experience and an incredible company. USE THESE GUYS!!!! read more

What a nightmare! We contracted for a fairly large scale job, including new pool equipment in a new location, replaster, retile, and new coping for our existing pool, new retaining wall, new pilasters, new barbeque, etc. The job was agreed to take 3 months. They showed up on day one, and demoed the pool deck and coping and old equipment, dumped all the debris in the middle of our yard, and then didn't show up again for almost three months. After I called and spoke with Dennis, the owner, I found out that he was pissed off that his salesman bid the job so low, so he never ordered materials. From that moment on, the entire job was the aforementioned nightmare. The electricians pulled a new line to the new equipment, but left the old lines in the ground, cut off the ends of the wires, then just turned of the old circuit breaker, leaving the 220 lines connected. Wouldn't that be great if someone turned it back on by accident? They built the pilasters one day, and I was watching and noticed that one looked completely out of level. I told the foreman, and he insisted it was level. I said it wasn't, he said it was. I said, "do you have a level?" He said yes. He got the level, put it on, and said, "Oh, it's not level. Tear it down and start over." If I hadn't been there, it would have been completed incorrectly. We had purchased all the barbecue equipment prior to them building the barbecue structure. When they built it, they formed the opening for the grill and the separate burners BOTH the wrong size, and didn't even leave a hole for the sink. Then when they were plumbing the sink, then tried to get away with having it drain into the street drains, rather than into the sewer lines. Totally ILLEGAL. Then the cappers: They didn't level the new coping, so now the water line is higher at the spa than it is at the skimmer, making water flow back over the spillover if the water level is correct. Plus, they mismatched the tile pattern (up down up down etc.) by putting two ups or two downs next to each other 34 TIMES around the pool's perimeter. To top that off, they covered our existing overflow hole with the new tile, so now the pool overflows with heavy rains. I took them to arbitration, and we won an award which they had to pay or risk losing their license. I can't say enough to try to warn against using this company. Inept, dishonest, and unreliable. read more

Allstate built our pool nearly 8 years ago, working with us from the beginning to fit what we wanted into a tight space and dealing with some engineering issues due to a large retaining wall and footing. They built a beautiful pool with a decorative wall and waterfalls, updated our existing bbq and bar, added a small retaining wall, etc. We've been very happy with the end result. We did have an issue about a year ago with a prematurely deteriorating material, provided by a subcontractor. Dennis worked through the issue with us, arranging for the sub to provide new material. Dennis then had his crew remove and re-install everything. This took several days of work, which was done at no cost to us.
