We also stepped up our coverages, so we actually have more insurance than what we had previously. Tennyson and her team were fantastic and easy to work with. Despite me calling multiple times telling the same thing each time with no continued resolution, I decided to pay the extra $100 policy cost difference cause it just wasn't worth my time anymore. They continuously raised rates on auto insurance from the point I started to where I am now have gone up 5x in 3 years with nothing changing besides where I live. On top of all of that, they have horrible claims service. I put in a claim on my property over 4 months ago with repeated calls to get it sorted out to still no resolution despite being owed thousands of dollars. As soon as my policies are done I am leaving this God forsaken insurance scam of a company. They act like they care but do not at all. I have had such little help trying to get anything done. After searching the web I found a local agency that had a page for "Earthquake Prevention and Safety". The Carriage Agency lists Earthquake Insurance, Catastrophe Insurance, Safeco Earthquake Insurance and an array of links that might lead you to think they sell earthquake insurance. I reached out over email to get started on my quote. First off the broker told me - "I am sorry but our agency is no longer able to issue an earthquake policy without supporting business (like home/auto insurance)." Fair enough I think maybe they can't bind it independent of a homeowners policy, so I asked her to quote my homeowners and the EQ policy together. My blunt no information response was - "I am not interested in quoting this." Well, that's nice. At the minimum, your website is highly misleading and is the agency stuffing content to troll for business 'they actually are interested in' without actually wanting to meet the needs of potential customers. At worst this broker is just lazy. I've been able to work with a number of other agents who went out of their way to understand my needs. The sad (or good) part about brokers (all brokers, not just insurance) who don't take the time to get to know potential clients is that they don't get any business. In my case, I'm responsible for over 100K worth of insurance spend per year both personally and for business. I buy liability, property, workers comp, B&O, automobile insurance so I'm well worth a smart broker's time. Additionally, since my wife works at a rather large Seattle software company with a big local service providers msg board I can warn others about wasting their time with Carriage. So much for a 51 year legacy of service. Sorry, Chuck.
