I feel extremely disappointed with Dr. Lee after being his patient for almost four years. He provided me with two crowns, both of which eventually leaked and caused internal infections, forcing me to undergo root canal treatments. Even more concerning, a tooth that he had previously treated with a root canal became severely infected and now requires extraction. The quality of his work is extremely poor. During my recent sharp pain visits, he did not care about my pain, however he just redid my old crown, cause me for over a month due to his careless work. Every step of the crown procedure had to be redone, costing me more than double the normal visit time. At one appointment, after making me wait for over an hour because he went to lunch, after he is back, just casually told me there was "no problem," and dismissed my serious, sharp pain as mere "sensitivity" -- even though the pain had persisted for two weeks by that point. Redo crown is truly unnecessary, but earning money is his main target obviously. And also let me think of my two crown previously did is also unnecessary due to another dentist diagnosed. How a money oriented dentist, I could not say more how shame of this kind of behavior. During annual cleanings, he always claimed that "everything looked good," but no proper evaluations were done. He spent only about half an hour on cleanings, did not thoroughly check with X-rays, and never properly discussed the results with me. Over time, plaque buildup accumulated severely, and infections were left unnoticed. Dr. Lee even request me to undergo implant procedures with him. Fortunately, my husband strongly advised against it. It is highly concerning that a single doctor attempts to act as a general dentist, an endodontist, and an implant specialist all at once. It is hard to trust that such wide-ranging services could possibly maintain high quality. Frankly, it is unbelievable and deeply disappointing to encounter such practices. In all my years, I have never encountered such low-quality, careless dental care. It has significantly disrupted my health and daily life. I went to get a cracked in-lay repaired. Dr. Lee recommended a crown for the tooth, which I was okay with. The problem is that Dr. Lee would not provide me with a porcelain with base metal ($308) or porcelain with noble metal crown ($339), which are choices under my dental insurance. Instead he insisted that he would only provide me with either a zirconia crown ($950) or a full cast high noble metal crown (all metal - $396) with another $100 upcharge if I wanted to convert this to a porcelain. I asked him why the difference in cost as compared to what is listed in my insurance benefit plan and he explained that it was because the crown was for a bicuspid instead of a molar. Well, the insurance coverage does not distinguish the cost of a crown based upon the type of tooth. Then he went on to explain that his standard of care dictactes that he provide only his recommended type of crowns. In other words, instead of patient care, Dr. Lee's priority was his profit margin. I filed a grievance with the insurance company. Don't recommend any dentist that tries to sell you the kitchen sink. read more

Took a risk and tried a new dentist and scored! Dr. Lee (I think) is GREAT. I first came here a week ago for a cleaning, his whole staff was very nice, conversational and attentive. Dr. Lee looks young but don't let his appearance fool you, he definitely knows what he's doing. After some X-rays and some poking around he determined that I had a mild case of gingivitis and a small cavity, he did the cleaning and gave me a mouthwash to use for a week and upon my next visit to fill the cavity he would check on my gums. I just got out of my appointment today to get my filling and I'm glad to say my gums are significantly better and got my filling done! Throughout both my appointments Dr. Lee was extremely careful and literally explained every step to me very clearly. I came to Dr. Lee a few years ago when I went to get braces. I was referred to him by my orthodontist because I needed to get some extractions and what not. Dr. Lee is really nice and thorough about procedures and any concerns. My extractions went well and I didn't have too much pain afterwards. He is a very nice dentist who is concerned about the patient, which I feel is harder to find these days. At the time, I lived in Irvine and he was down in Aliso Viejo, but I was willing to make the trip because he's such a great dentist! I love this dentist...and that says a lot because I HATE going to the dentist. I switched to AllSmile from California Dental Group because I was uncomfortable with the work done there and I felt like I was being up charged all the time. So I switched about a month ago. Dr. Lee was able to get me in right away. He listened to my concerns (I hate needles and am a baby when it comes to pain). He was gentle and efficient. I also love his assistant Aurora. She's friendly and easy to talk to. They also didn't try to up charge and sell me stuff that was unnecessary. I told him one tooth was bothering me, so he checked it out, double checked my X-rays and didn't find anything wrong with the tooth. I will preface by saying that, like many others, I have a healthy fear of dental work. I avoid it like the plague...but much to my own detriment. So finally, I decided to face my fear and go take care of business. I originally went to a different local dental office, and while this place had all the latest in dental technology, refreshments, and streaming channels, it seemed to be lacking something. That and, I'll be perfectly honest, they wanted way too many of my coins. About a year later, I decided to try again but with a different dental office (since I pretty much ghosted the first. I'm a child...I know). This time I contacted AllSmile in damn near "close my eyes and randomly pick" fashion. And while their office does not look like much, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating Dr. Lee and his staff are. On top of that, Dr. Lee and his assistants do great work and have helped to not only save and maintain my oral health, but they are so good at what they do that I no longer fear going to the dentist. OMG....beware!! This office fraudulently bills dental insurance for work that was never performed! I received the EOB from Delta Dental for my child. To my surprise, not only did this office bill for the cleaning (that was done), they also billed for a filling and sealants ...which were never done! Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I called the office and spoke to the office girl. I received three very different explanations for the incorrect billing; all contradicted each other. I instructed them to call Delta Dental immediately to let them know that this billing was incorrect and that they (the dental office) would need to reimburse Delta Dental the money they had been paid (I need to confirm with Delta Dental that this occurred). So, fast forward a few days and we get another set of EOB'S in the mail for my husband. He did have a regular cleaning and x-rays. But to our surprise, they also billed for nearly $700 of work that was NEVER performed and, to add to it, they billed for work on dates that he was not even at their office. In fact, he was working nearly 100 miles away. Needless to say, my husband will be following up with Delta Dental to bring this practice of billing fraud to their attention.
