After showing up to my appointment- yes I got delayed by 10 mins , I was asked to reschedule .. they never said that a 10 mins delay would cause the appointment to hm get cancelled! this plane has no value for peoples times . It's a work day and at peak traffic time., one who cannot accommodate or at the very least mention their policy when making appointments is certainly lying!! I have been to AllSkin Dermatology for a yearly mole check for a while and I appreciate the service here so much! I had a fantastic visit today with Jenny Ngo. Jenny was quick, but thorough. She explained everything she was doing, which moles to keep an eye on, and was able to do a mole and skin tag removal all during one visit. It was very reasonably priced, too! I cannot recommend this office enough. It is so wonderful to feel like an office really cares about your health and well-being. From the reception area to the exam rooms, everything is clean and everyone is kind and helpful. I'll be back in a year and this is one doctor visit I genuinely don't mind coming to. I'll update my review with results from the mole and skin tag removal, but I'm feeling great about the experience and hopeful about the results! read more

If I could rate my visit negative stars, I would. I have thought about my experience for a bit. I have also shared my experience with a few doctors whom I respect since my AllSkin visit. It is my considered view that at least the treating NP I saw is fat phobic. I have never experienced that from a medical provider. It was gross. I have gone to AllSkin twice. Both visits were for skin/mole checks. The first visit was fine. The second visit was a bit devastating. I saw NP Annie. I thought it odd when the PA/Assistant instructed me to lay down in a very particular way while I waited for Annie -- it was oddly specific and off-putting. I asked about it and the PA told me that is what she (Annie) likes. Ok then ... Following a super brief intro, Annie quickly said the skin on my arms was too dry for her to see if I had anything suspicious on my arms, so she would not examine them. Whaaa? I didn't lotion up after my morning in the pool earlier but seriously???? Are you kidding? You "can't" perform an exam on them? Yep. And she brushed it off. Then she began vigorously pointing to certain areas of my body. Her tone and weird pointing (sort of like shaking her finger) made me uncomfortable but I was in the moment and thought I was in the right place to have my skin checked (I was absolutely wrong!). Annie seemed to assume because I am a bigger person and have rolls, I had issues that I do not have (perhaps fungus, smell, or the like). She continued the uncomfortable pointing and repeated "rough and bumpy" and "this itches, right?" several times. No, ma'am. I had/have no issue with itching. Still, in that moment, I asked about what she recommended if she thought I had all these issues. She rattled off a bunch of things but was also generally dismissive of me. She said everything would be in the notes. It wasn't. That said, I'm absolutely disinterested in anything she has/had to say. I acknowledge that Annie identified a suspicious mole on my abdomen. So, maybe that's the 1 star? Anyway, there was no way I was returning to AllSkin. I went to a different provider to remove the suspicious mole and run appropriate diagnostic lab work. The other provider treated me like a person, unlike Annie. If you aren't a skinny Minnie, this place is likely not for you. Also, if Annie remains on AllSkin's staff she seriously needs some training on how to treat people (all people). This whole thing makes me sad. read more

My wife and I really like the PA that we saw here. She was very professional and kind. Her examination was very thorough. She even answered all our questions patiently and never rushed us. My issue is that when my wife and I were checking out at the front desk, we were able see the PA's computer as she was documenting, and I could clearly see full body images of my wife, including sensitive areas such as her butt. When I brought this issue up to the PA during a following appointment, she was very apologetic, but told me she had already brought this up to management multiple times, but they won't do anything about it. I can't believe she is just out in the open where everyone can see her computer and all the sensitive patient information. I can tell she really cares about her patients and if she was to leave this place, my wife and I would definitely follow her. I give 5 for the PA, but 0 stars for the office management. read more

They never answer the phone and only sometimes give you a call back. It's been 4 months of trying to get them to send in the right prescription. The pharmacists even don't understand what has been so hard. They were nice enough in person but with absolutely zero follow through that makes their doctors/MAs/PAs "bedside manner" not matter. If I can't contact them in a timely manner nor get the right prescription after many calls/messages, it gives me the impression they do not care. I want my doctors to care. read more

I had an office visit with nurse practitioner to have a dermatofibroma frozen off my leg Previously I've had neck tags frozen off by my primary care doctor, who applied the freezing agent using a q-tip, with care & precision. Anne used a device that resembled a blowtorch. All of the surrounding skin was fried. Absolutely no damage to the actual dermatofibroma. I called the office to talk about my complaint & was told that the "blood blister" was a good thing. I have since retreated my own leg, using a Dr Scholls wart removing kit to freeze it off. Tired of having weird experiences with this subpar cosmetics company. My husband and I have been going here since May 2022 receiving (mostly) Botox treatments. Collectively we've given Allskin probably $5-$6K since and consistently had very weird experiences tied back to their management style. They have some gross hierarchy where the staff upstairs is segregated from the lower level staff (literally). Upstairs the staff is stand offish, curt, and will persistently try to upsell you additional services. Downstairs the staff is friendly, nice, and often overwhelmed. Frequently we've had to wait long periods of time for our treatments because the staff is booked back to back with no breaks. In any case, downstairs we've always received the most attentive and kind care from first Ghazel and now Miriam, which is why we continue to come back despite the scheduling issues and persistent lack of calendar flexibility. I grind my teeth and having recently cracked a tooth and needing a crown, I decided after much research to get Masseter's tox to solve the issue. I spoke to our regular AllSkin stsff (downstairs) multiple times about how much would be suggested, where the treatment would be applied, etc. I was told that only one physician was available to do masseter's tox and scheduled the appointment for 3 MONTHS later with Dr. Dunn. When the appointment finally came, I felt rushed when describing my needs and was surprised to hear that I would need so many units for the first treatment (25+) but was told this was the standard. Within the first 24-48 hours I felt relief in my jaw tension but I quickly started to notice my face was COMPLETELY FROZEN from my smile to under my eyes. I could not smile for 3 months. Shortly after realizing the treatment went poorly I called the office and the receptionist (upstairs) informed me that I was not permitted to speak to Dr. Dunn over the phone but that I needed to make an appointment. Mind you I had a follow up masseter's appointment on the calendar but it was months before my wedding and my husband said "we can't risk you not being able to smile in our wedding pictures" so I decided to cancel. Having a separate Botox appointment upcoming I told the (downstairs) staff what had happened and immediately the vibe was EEK from the nurses prepping me for my treatment. They implied that upstairs is separate from downstairs and to talk to the other staff. So I went upstairs after my treatment and Dr. Dunn was out of office. So next time I asked again and was sent to a manager who I've never seen before named Gibran who's de-escalation tactics are to just talk in circles repeating what you say without any solutions until you give up and run for the door. Months later (my masseter's treatment was in November and it is now June) I'm finally receiving feedback that there is "no substantial evidence" that I received a botched treatment. I had a scalp problem they found. $65 for a small bottle of shampoo. Cream for my red nos $65. for about 2 Oz. of cream. I left, didn't buy and will not go back. My daughter went to this office to have them look at a suspicious mole. Dr. Dunn decided it needed to be removed, and did the removal that day. My daughter asked if Dr. Dunn could check the rest of her skin, and was told no. I have never heard of a dermatologist that doesn't have 5 minutes to do a body scan. My daughter was told she would need another appointment for this. This is ridiculous. Every other dermatologist we have ever been to has always asked at the end of the appointment if there is anything else they can look at. My daughter moved out of the area a few days after the mole was removed, and was told by someone at the office that the pathology report came back that the mole was atypical and that "the mole needed to be fully removed asap, definitely don't wait longer than 2 or 3 months." We have tried to get the pathology report over to our new dermatologist for the last 4 months unsuccessfully (4 or 5 phone calls and a request from our new dermatologist). This is so unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and go to another dermatologist. read more

Great Dermatology and aesthetic services especially for people of color. They are great at taking into account hyperpigmentation and hypertrophic scars. This is one if the few places that does full dermatology like skin cancer and rosacea along with injectables and peels. I think the aestheticians and physicians work well together. They also came up with an individualized program for me when I was pregnant and unable to take many of my previous medications or do previous treatments. I do not have insurance that cover this practice but they still send my medications toa pharmacy where they are less expensive and I am willing to pay out of pocket regardless. I cannot say enough about what a great experience I have had here. read more

AllSkin Dermatology's physicians and other staff members were kind and helpful. Their patient firendliness was good. However, their clinic was not wheelchair accessible as I wish it would be. It had limited wheelchair access. The examining room was small on the first floor. I could not go up to the second floor because there wasn't an elevator. I had to call ahead of time to alert them that I was a wheelchair user. I wish the experience was more inclusive for every patient. I did go back again for followups, but I just had to remind them that I needed a wheelchair accessible examining room, so that they can see me on the first floor. read more

Had my first appointment today with Dr Dunn. Had a very pleasant experience. I had a 10:00 appointment and was able to see the doctor by 10:15-10:20, so not a long wait at all. The staff were all very kind and attentive. Dr Dunn was extremely knowledgeable and sympathetic to my skincare needs. She took the time to answer all my questions and provided me with all the information I needed. read more

No one knocks. I was interviewed by an assistant and told to strip and put on a gown or sheet over my legs. After waiting a bit, a completely different person came in and without introducing herself, she began asking me about why I was there. No one told me what they were doing or what was happening next. My covering was moved and removed with no warning or explanation. The same assistant came in and out of the room 3 different times. Each time without knocking or explanation of why she was in the room. Very unprofessional, unless you consider yourself livestock and you don't expect to be communicated with by the staff. So if "shut up and give us your copay" is your style of Medicine then these are the guys for you. I even got to participate in the car shopping one of the receptionists was doing. I hope she finds something that works for her. Both receptionists were very nice. read more

What a rip off!! Let the buyer beware. I was uncomfortable to start with when told that the procedure in which I was interested was $500 (microdermabrasion). Then when I got to my appointment I was told that the price had gone up to $600! The prices were hand written on a piece of paper, not even "official" by being printed on a flier, etc. I felt as if I was being scammed. After doing some research into other places that offer the same procedure, I discovered that their charges are exorbitant! Fine for basic things like cancer skin checks, but beyond that (including anything cosmetic--especially anything cosmetic!) I can't recommend AllSkin. I recommend All Skin to pretty much everyone I know and I'm confident that they will treat everyone's needs from small to large. I met the team 2-year ago when I had the absolute worst bite from what I think was a spider and I was able to get in to see the NP same day, she fit me in even though I think she was booked. I have been seeing Nicole Spooner ever since, and can't recommend anyone more highly. She make me comfortable, follows through and is a great listener to whatever is going on with my skin. I value her extensive knowledge on everything about dermatology. She was even able to give me a few samples of products I wanted to try but wasn't sure about buying yet. These doctor's really care about your skin!! I have been a client off and on for over 20 years and have really received excellent care.

I do not recommend this practice to anyone who's considering coming here. I'll preface by saying that the doctors are great, but their staff and admin are pretty ineffective, unresponsive, and unreliable. I was seen by Miriam Mona Gaffer Ferreira for a skin condition a few weeks back, who was very helpful and set me up with a solid plan to treat my condition. When it came to acquiring my prescribed medication, however, their office never completed the paperwork needed, and I ended up in a CVS Caremark hell hole. In short, CVS never received the prescription for my needed antibiotics. I spent Monday, Tuesday, and all of Wednesday calling the doctors office to make sure they'd sent the pharmacy the needed paperwork for my antibiotics. CVS, to this day, has no record of any outreach from the doctor's office. I've left their practice countless of voicemails, and spent over an hour of my time on the phone with a CVS Caremark rep trying to figure out if there was a clerical error on their end. It's been 5 days and neither I nor CVS have heard back from the doctors office for any follow up whatsoever. All the while, I'm still unable to access the antibiotics the doctor prescribed in order to start my treatment. I will definitely be canceling my follow up appointment, and seeking treatment with another practice instead. I'm disappointed at their patient care, and find it unacceptable to be left without treatment for a week. What's the point in in seeking medical help if I won't be able to get the medication needed to treat my condition? read more

I've been to many other dermatologists, so I know what to expect. I didn't have any redness or blistering so I'm not sure they were all actually removed. I am a worrier, and finding a doc that is reassuring and doesn't make light of my (usually) unfounded fears is a godsend. This person is Miriam Ferreira, P.A.-C, MMS at All Skin Dermatology in Berkeley. She listens, she doesn't rush you and she performs excellent work. My skin cancer (some imagined and some real) have all been successfully treated with the utmost care for my fragile emotional state. Avoid at all costs! Allskin misdiagnosed me with a fungal skin infection. Once diagnosed, my clinician forgot that we had agreed to a prescription, and I had to chase her for weeks to get the prescription sent to pharmacy. in the meantime, my skin condition continue to worsen. When she finally returned my calls, she told me that we'd agreed that I would call her back after I thought about it. she had completely forgotten about our conversation. I began treatment for fungal infection, which only exacerbated my skin problem. When I checked with a more reputable clinic, they informed me that the Allskin clinician had misread the results of my skin scrape, and that the results actually read negative for fungus. The reputable clinician diagnosed me with eczema, and told me to discontinue the treatment that Allskin prescribed. Also, the Allskin clinician's notes said that I had rashes in places that I didn't. I'm presuming she either misheard me, or got my chart mixed up with someone else's. I'm still waiting for those mistakes to be corrected in my chart. In all, I had a terrible experience that resulted in further irritation to my skin. Allskin wasted my time and money; and I found the communication to be poor, and the attention to detail lacking. Do yourself a favor and go to a reputable dermatologist and require that you be examined by an MD, not a physician's assistant, etc. read more

I had just moved the area, and only been in Northern California about 6 months when I suddenly developed a rash on one side of my face. I obviously couldn't wait until I visited home to get it checked out (since it was on my face). I did a google search for the nearest dermatologist and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. I didn't particularly like the fact that I got a trainee, but hey that was my choice. I try not to discriminate because I do internships and stuff for my degree, and people need to learn somewhere. She ended up being really helpful, and scheduled a follow up appointment for two weeks later. Within the couple of weeks she had consulted with her supervisor and referred me some additional creams and lotions I could look into fighting off my Bay Area rashes. Turns out that growing up in concrete city Los Angeles that I'm allergic to all the plant life out here! Oh, and you may be wondering why I waited so long to review... well, I just tried looking them up now for their number because it appears that I need to schedule an emergency appointment for tomorrow. Update 8/25/2020: Following my review, Dolly, the office manager reached out, as did Dr. Dunn. Truly, it was Dr. Dunn reaching out that made me give All Skin another chance. She seemed to understand my frustration and more importantly, wanted to treat the symptoms I continued to experience. She understood my hesitations around coming back to the office, and we communicated directly to schedule a follow up appointment since I had a poor experience with the office staff. At my follow up, Dr. Dunn again apologized for my poor customer service experience and listened intently to my symptoms. She explained what was likely happening and offered numerous options for treating the pain. I felt that I had the option to speak up and have a voice in my own treatment, which is important to me. The office staff were also very friendly and apologized for my prior experience, and I was not charged for the follow up visit, which I appreciated. We set a re-check date for the future to ensure my symptoms are managed. I'm still not 100% ready to trust All Skin with all my dermatological needs, but I do trust Dr. Dunn more now. She demonstrated the ability to integrate feedback, right some wrongs, and take responsibility for her staff. In addition, she was patient, personable, and listened to my concerns. Original review: This review is for Dr. Dunn and my customer service experience following a minor surgery. I'm disappointed that I have to write this review, but unfortunately I have had a frustrating experience with All Skin, particularly their customer service. I had a minor outpatient surgery on June 8th, which went fine. Dr. Dunn was patient and I appreciated that she talked me through the procedure and asked if I had questions. Following the surgery, I had some pain in the muscles around the surgical site which was uncomfortable, but I figured it would go away. I was still having pain when I went to get my sutures removed on June 19th, and I asked the nurse about it. I also had swelling and firmness around the surgical site, which the nurse seemed unsure about. I asked about the pain I was still feeling, and the nurse said they may have hit a nerve during my procedure, but didn't offer any feedback on when I could expect symptoms to subside. She promised to ask Dr. Dunn about it and give me a call (Dr. Dunn was not present for the suture removal). I was frustrated with the suture removal appointment because I felt like my concerns were dismissed. However, I was hopeful that I would be receiving a call from Dr. Dunn to discuss my healing. Unfortunately, I never received a call back. My healing concerns were minor enough that I waited until nearly a week later, June 25th, to email All Skin using their "contact us" feature on their website. I explained my questions and provided contact info, but never heard anything back from them. My final attempt at getting my questions answered (at this point the pain had generally resolved itself, but I still had firmness around the surgical site, as well as questions about the internal stitches I still had) was on July 6th. I called the office, and tried several different extensions but the phone kept ringing and ringing (this was during regular business hours, not during closure or their 1.5 hour lunch. I finally left a voicemail for the office manager, Dolly. I described my experience and asked her to give me a call back this week (her voicemail message says she'd return calls by the end of the day, but I figured 48 hours was a reasonable expectation). It has now been 48 hours since I left a voicemail for Dolly and I have not received a call back. I'm disappointed in All Skin for how they have handled my multiple requests for clarification of my healing process. At this point, it's been a month since my original procedure, and I don't expect to hear from them (unless they see this review and respond here). Their system for ensuring patient concerns are followed up with is clearly flawed. As a business, this is obviously going to impact customer satisfaction and customers returning. This is unfortunate since the actual in person care was fine (nothing amazing, but I could live with it), but the after care was not. At this point, I'm expecting to just live with my residual symptoms unless they start to cause me discomfort. I'll be asking my PCP for a different dermatologist referral for future skin concerns, because All Skin's customer service is so lacking. read more

Normally I don't write reviews but I wanted to give a shout out for how clean this office was and how safe it felt during the middle of a pandemic to be around my medical provider. Everyone was masked to the T, gloved, the place smelled clean, they asked all the right cautionary questions (in my opinion) and my experience with my dermatologist was on point. Can't speak for the cosmetic stuff they do but I'll definitely be back for my yearly appts needed for skin cancer prevention. I was recommended by a friend to go to AllSkin - she raved about the staff, specifically Dr Dunn and Nurse Nicole. Since the pandemic, it has not been a priority to go in for a check-up so I really appreciated that this office offers telehealth right from my home. Dr Dunn was warm and easy to talk to and heard all of my concerns. She was able to send a prescription to my pharmacy and even found a delivery pharmacy for me so I didn't have to leave my house. My skin issue has since resolved and I look forward to going back for all the fun treatments they offer. My degree is in microbiology and I am a new mom so needless to say I am super nervous to leave the house during this Covid environment. I called ahead of time to ask what their new protocols were and got a call back from their office manager Komal. She was so nice and calmed my nerves to ensure me that they were taking every precaution possible for my safety and the safety of their staff. I decided to head in to see Miriam for my psoriasis. Im so glad I did. I've been so hesitant and suffering with my skin, but now I'm on treatment and would recommend this office to anyone with derm needs. I've been followed by Dr. Dunn (2 surgeries) and NP Nicole Spooner since 2017. Because of my skin issues over the recent years, I've had to see Nicole at least twice a year. Came in for my *first* BOTOX appointment with my partner... The staff here made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process: I am a *wimp* when it comes to needles, and when I told the staff at the beginning of the visit they gave me a fan to hold just in case - which was really sweet of them. Miriam double checked where I wanted botox and, being a newbie, I let her decide for me. As she injected the botox, it was virtually pain free - just a bit of a sting around the eye area. But again, I'm a wimp when it comes to needles, so the tiny sound and new sensation of botox going into my skin around the eyes was enough to make me nearly faint. I was *so* embarrassed. However, Miriam and the assistant were really kind and polite about it all. We took a break, put my feet up, and they gave me a piece of candy. The ice pack was too cold for me so Miriam promptly switched it for a cold towel on my face. Heads up, if you don't want to end up head down, apparently it's important you come in hydrated and fed (it was a hot day and I was planning to eat right after - oops). Despite me almost fainting, the whole experience was a positive one. It's only been one day and already I can see a huge improvement in my partners forehead wrinkles... I would leave 0 stars if I could. Came in for a skin check. Front desk was rude, was left sitting in a room, in a gown, for 30 mins. Nobody came in to tell me there would be a wait. Honestly don't even think they remembered I was in there. This was my first appointment and I will never be returning. Made sure to let my doctor at one medical know it was an awful referral. I was treated by Dr. Mirriam Ferreira and really liked her approach. She goes straight to the point and has good sense of humor (which was good since I was concerned with my skin).
