Very good diagnostician. Very thorough with her exam, and professional. I look forward to using her services, again, as needed.

What does initial consult cost?

I have medical coverage, so I don't know. Why don't you ask the office? Let them know if you do or don't have medical coverage when you call. All I can tell you was that I was very pleased with her service and attention to my needs.

They also offer the option to text, and the receptionists have always gotten back to me. Personally, I prefer that over an AI scheduling service. I saw Quynhly for a persistent case of facial dermatitis. I had been dealing with a rashy, bumpy face for three months, and after seeing her, she prescribed a medication that started clearing my skin within just two days. I can't thank her enough for her expertise and her wonderful bedside manner. Thank you again, Quynhly, I truly appreciate everything you've done!

I visited a while ago and was left in the hands of a younger doctor. He was polite and friendly,…read morebut he took a look at a few concerns I had and didn't know how to help. I mentioned a scalp issue, and he said it didn't sound like dandruff but he didn't know what else it could be... I waited for a follow-up like "Here's what we can do to test it" or "Let me ask another doctor", but the visit ended with him giving me medication for an issue that he didn't think I had to see if it would work (it didn't). Anyway, I sought a second opinion from another dermatologist who was able to explain all of my issues clearly without any hesitancy, citing prior patients he'd seen in his career. I hate to blame lack of experience because doctors need to gain training somewhere, but I was really disappointed that I paid to get someone as stumped as I was. I'm not a dermatologist, so I hoped to get someone who knows more than I do? :/

She has a fantastic eye for aesthetics and strikes that perfect balance between delivering beautiful results and keeping everything natural and understated. What I appreciate most is how deeply she understands the nuances of Indian and other melanin-rich skin tones, and how thoughtfully she tailors her approach accordingly. She's also the furthest thing from pushy or sales-driven -- in fact, she's talked me out of so many treatments! She only recommends what you genuinely need, with results that enhance your natural beauty rather than change it. She's warm, approachable, and inspires complete confidence in her expertise. I always leave feeling like the best version of myself. Couldn't recommend her more highly!

Dr. Patel rationed the amount dispensed to the point where all the bigger cysts have remained the same size, I have gotten injections at my regular derm at Stanford for years, always get the shots and the spots subside almost immediately. I did ask if she felt enough was dispensed because I am a veteran after all and could tell something was awry, and she assured me she had. Unfortunately the main ones that hurt while I slept remain. I don't believe the experience can be written off as just a rush job, seems like an overly cautious approach to a derm practice. It's possible the derm doesn't have much experience with injections as maybe the clinic ethos revolves around accutane or other medical interventions. If so, this is unfortunate because the office should have just turned me down, I would have gone elsewhere instead of having to pay elsewhere again. I appreciate them squeezing me in when I ran late from work though so I gave them an extra star for the front desk service.

I had both my initial and most recently my follow-up appointment with Nicole Spooner. After just ONE appointment and about 7 weeks of diligently following her treatment plan, my skin has improved significantly. I can now go out without wearing makeup, I'm no longer self conscious about my skin, and I also learned so much about rosacea from her. If you're struggling with rosacea, Union Square Dermatology is the place to go and seek treatment.

Instructions were given, was prescribed a few things, shot was given and then asked for a follow up. Was out the consultation room in less than 10 minutes. What I didn't have a good experience with is the company's practice and lack of professionalism when it comes to billing and insurance / credit card retention. I gave them my insurance information 5x and they still did not keep my in-network insurance on file until I asked them to charge my $40 copay the afternoon of my visit after I realized that there's definitely a copay for that visit. I called 4x before someone answered. During the call to pay my copay, it turns out the front desk person I met did not put my information in despite saying she did. What she did keep was my credit card information that they refuse to delete despite me never signing any form to justify it. This practice will try to make you sign a form that forces you to keep a payment card on file, have it charged without notification when there is a bill and forgo your right to dispute the charge if there's a discrepancy in billing. I shared the image of the form below. The front desk personnel will also hound you if you don't put your personal address and ssn on the forms. I gave them my address but the fd still refused to acknowledged that I wrote it down. I generally have payment cards stored for copayments at other practices. However, I have never had practice (or worked at a practice) that has these terms and conditions. It feels almost predatory and extremely insensitive. I understand when bills are due they are due. However, not saving my insurance information when I gave it multiple times, refusing to acknowledge I had filled the health forms online and even written down my address. Is just terrible practice as someone who also works in the medical field. I even emailed the team and offered them to submit the insurance claim myself just to ensure that it does get billed to them first. I even asked for a patient ledger once it's done cause I need to know my claim gets billed correctly. Furthermore, they do store you whole card information on their computer system and not an secure off-site institution as they claim, cause the FD on the phone confirming my copay was able to repeat the card number from front to back. Trust me this is not standard practice at medical offices or even businesses. At most the only card info a business would have is the last 4 digits of the card and it's expiration. Not the whole card's information I did not sign anything (their green agreement policy) that authorizes them to charge my card without my consent or say so cause I am not tardy on bills. (If I was why would I called 3 hours later to pay my copay immediately) But treating every new or existing patient like they are out for free service gives the impression that it's money first before your health by a long-shot. Most practices I've been to are not like this The whole fiasco about not wanting to save my insurance so they bill me directly instead cemented my experience at this practice. The doctor may be nice but the billing system and practice is definitely flawed. It's almost like they operate more like a beauty spa/ clinic than an actual medical facility for people with skin conditions. The administrative staff seem unwilling to actually do their role besides pushing you to fill out the green agreement form (pictured below), give card information and your address to ensure they can bill you instead and then send you to collections. Everything but sending the claim to insurance it seems. Definitely won't be back and will follow up to ensure they do send my claims, and would not recommend this practice to any patient needing care without the administrative stress.

I couldn't even sleep because it was so itchy, painful, and stinging all over my face and neck. Got misdiagnosed by another dermatologist and I came for a second opinion. He checked my skin with a bright light and confirmed it was a bacterial infection. Seriously thought I wouldn't ever recover... Dr. Oliver is so patient and answered all my questions. He even told me to not worry about my skin. Just take the med/ointments as he said and relax, leave the worrying to him because that's what he does. Within 2 days of taking the oral med, my swelling was all gone. After 4 days of both oral and tropical med, the redness on my face was gone! Seeing a specialist always worries me because they can get very expensive but I am SO THANKFUL that I found Dr. Oliver. His pricing was very reasonable as I pay out of pocket and his office visit price covered the ointments/oral med he prescribed for me. Really appreciate that. I actually just visited Dr. Oliver for a follow up appointment today. Again, he was super patient and answered everything I asked!! Did not feel rushed at all. Was hoping he clears me from the prescribed meds but he suggests to continue for another week just to make sure everything is cleared completely. Still dealing with some lingering dryness and tightness. Hope that go away soon. Cassandra the receptionist was super sweet and helpful as well! They offer water or tea while you wait. If you are dealing with a skin issue, I highly recommend Dr. Oliver and his team.
