We have a 15 foot camper and have used Allison Carole Properties storage for 5 years now. The owners are beyond welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable about camper, boat, and vehicle storage. The space we rent for winter dry storage is super clean and there has never been any damage to our camper. Getting our camper there in the Fall and getting our camper out in the Spring is very easy and the owners are easy to coordinate with. The storage space is also free of critters and our camper remains clean, dry, and out of the elements during the entire 6 month time span. Nothing about my assessment of poor customer service from Rob at Allison Carole Properties has changed. Here is some additional background information. He sent me a text on October 5th, telling me that he contacted a friend in Ravenna and that I might be able to store it in his friend's "old barn." I later texted him, telling him that I would be willing to put my boat in storage with Allison Carole in "early or late December." In a follow up text, I told him that would not work. I also texted that I was even willing to pay for the "entire rental period, including deposit, upfront." I NEVER heard from him again to confirm or coordinate any details. I did not enter into a verbal agreement, sign a contract, or make a deposit for storage. I did not hear from him again until he texted me on December 11th, asking why I had not dropped off my boat on December 6th. I have no idea where he got that date. Then, he followed up, asking if I could drop it off "this Saturday," i.e., December 15th. This seems backwards to me. If I have a requirement, and the storage company can't support it, that's fine. I'll attempt to compromise and find a mutually agreeable date/time, or I'll store with some other company. I shouldn't be expected to store an item when it's convenient for the storage company! He still can't seem to understand my requirements, nor can he seen to understand that the was NO reservation because of his failure to contact me after I texted him. Look, I understand that mix-ups happen. All he had to do was to apologize for failing to contact me and ask whether or not we could work things out. He just seemed more interested in trying to win an argument rather than solving a problem. Further, he sent me the following harassing message through Yelp stating the following: "Your review is false and misleading. All your Yelp reviews are negative and only one star each. Shame on you." I don't believe that my review was false of misleading. Also, I don't know how the total number of reviews that I've made in Yelp is relevant. It's true that I have made three reviews, including one for Allison Carole, that were one star, however, that has nothing to do with the poor customer service that I received. Lastly, he still has not been willing to provide me with the phone number for his supervisor. Instead, he provided an email that I could send my concerns to. That seemed a little suspicious to me as I have no idea who would be on the receiving end of those emails. read more

After the initial arrangement they refuse to speak on the phone, and respond via text message only if it concerns a payment. My account was always kept in good standing, but they refuse to return my deposit after several requests. read more

I have been using Allison Carole Properties for storage for over 5 years now. I have stored my boat and camper in his indoor facility over the winter. The building is immaculate. I am in pure shock by the way this company operates! Initially, the young woman that arranged my storage for this location only wanted to communicate through text messages, which made it very difficult to get details in a timely manner, but the price for outside storage of my car seemed right. I finally got through to a male on the other end and he got the young lady to call me. We discussed rates and locations and settled on Rittman. I have had my car parked outside at this property for the last 6 months while I am out of the country. Three months ago, I started trying to reach them by phone, SMS, and by posting messages on their website. After not getting any kind of response, I went ahead and sent a certified letter and check to cover another 6 months, along with how they could reach ME. I am still unable to reach anyone and have tried calling all four locations on different days at different times all the while (about 100 calls all together), leaving a message repeatedly. I still have never gotten a response, but I did find out that after they played phone tag with my mother for a couple weeks, they did finally reach my mother on the phone and told her that they had returned my check to me and that I had to have my car removed by today (I found out 2 days ago)!! My mother said the young lady that she talked to didn't seem to know very much about the situation. Other than that they had already rented my space out to an RV (they will make more money from it, since it is so much bigger). I STILL have not been able to reach them and have not decided on how I am going to handle this since I have no way to get there right now or get through to them (since they STILL NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE) They never sent me any notification in writing (even though they had my address here, as well as my mother's address and phone number) either and I have not received the check they said they returned to me (which was a good check). I have utilized storage facilities in many places in the USA and have never had any other establishment handle their business in this manner. read more
