Throughout the renovation process, Edwin was responsive. He answered our questions promptly and we didn't have to chase him for an update, he usually let us know if his workers were coming the next day and around what time they will be here. As with any renovation, expect the unexpected; Edwin helped us resolve issues as they came up. During the process we also wanted to add in recessed lighting and undercabinet lighting along with some other changes, Edwin was accommodating/flexible. It seemed like the only tool they used was a sawzall. They cut through 2 main circuit feeds, and cut into the dishwasher drain hose and the unit itself. The cuts were covered by the felt covering on the dishwasher so no one saw the damage. Once the project was completed we ran the dishwasher and it completely flooded the NEWLY RESTORED KITCHEN. Now we are tearing up walls and floors again. Oh, but the company kindly offered us 200$ for our troubles. That will go far when replacing our kitchen.....again...

Bob was a bit hard to get ahold of at first, but he's in demand and working jobs with his team. We scheduled a free consultation the day after my closing, and he was flexible in moving it up a week earlier when that option opened up. Bob arrived exactly on time and started with the attic. He was able to assure me that the water discoloration didn't look to stem from active leaks, and his services wouldn't be needed in that space. He did recommend adding better ventilation through the MassSave audit program. We then went to the basement where Bob reached a similar conclusion. For the two beams with visible mold, he said that the issue wasn't severe enough to warrant a professional's assistance, and that I could clean it myself. I really appreciated how Bob took the time to evaluate my new home even though the outcome was that I wouldn't be hiring him. The best part? As we were leaving through the finished basement, Bob noticed some suspect bubbling on a newly painted wall. He pulled out his moisture meter and was able to determine that many segments of the wall were at 100% saturation. It's likely that the recent heavy rain and removal of the dehumidifier while the house has been unoccupied resulted in this issue, which would have otherwise gone unnoticed until closing. Bob was able to recommend some initial moves that we could take (redirect gutters, run dehumidifier and fans in the space, etc) before ripping things apart. Depending on how that goes, I may have an opportunity to write a review for his services... but for now, greatly appreciate what he's done for me so far.
