The co-pay, because I have VSP, is $10 for routine eye exams. However, they charged me a $50 co-pay today. Why? They said that the doctor made some notes about glaucoma--so they have to bill my health insurance rather than VSP, and the health insurance co-pay is $50. I told them that I did not ask to check anything about glaucoma and went for a routine exam (to know if the power of my eyeglasses changed or not and the doctor did check that). That did not change anything. I wanted to talk to the office manager---the manager repeated their earlier argument that "because of the doctor's note on glaucoma, we have to bill your health insurance." I felt as if I went to a store to buy a cheap shirt, but they forcefully put a brand-name shirt in my shopping bag and forced me to pay for it. Maybe, this whole thing has to do with a recent change in the management and doctors there. I would go to another practice next time.

I know it sounds really silly, but apparently is more common issue than I thought after talking with the eye doctor. They were able to fit me in same day. Front office staff was nice and quick. And Dr. Greidinger was very personable and knowledgeable. He explained how he was going to check the issue and answered any questions thoroughly. Will definitely come back for a regular eye exam the next time I need one.

It's not a walk in the park and the second time was more harsh than the second and yes there is aftercare -- lots of eye drops! The procedures were about a half hour each. The actual cutting was just a minute or two. It's far more strange than painful. Then it's over. It's only a day or so before you're able to do things again which really isn't bad considering the benefits. However, it's been 3 years now and it still is one of the best things I've ever done for myself. Dr. Wasserman is INCREDIBLY kind, steady, patient, and knowledgeable. His staff is quick to remedy any issues that come up. I've been going back for eye checkups there ever since. Office is clean. Wait times are reasonable. Location is perfect. I've sent my friends there for checkups and Lasik consultations and they've had good experiences as well. HIGHLY, highly, highly recommend!

Then proceeded to wait for over an hour in the room for this arrogant dismissive know it all to show up and not even acknowledge how late he was. I went through my 2 biggest concerns one by one and without me even finishing my explanation he told me it was nothing and just wanted to examine my daughter. When she wasn't cooperating (because she's just over a year old and had been waiting for over an hour) he was getting more and more frustrated, stopped the exam, told me nothing was wrong and to try again in 3-4 months the when my daughter was a bit more cooperative. Worst bedside manner I've ever seen from any doctor/medical professional. There are other eye doctors that will actually care about you and your child

So finding an experienced, skilled and caring doctor is of paramount importance. We have done so with Dr. Ellis. My wife just got her second cataract surgery (her left was done in 2022), and we highly recommend Dr. Ellis, who performed the surgery. He and his staff are professional, caring and their total focus is on the patient's well being. He took great pains to describe the procedure and what to expect regarding preparation, use of the eye drops and recovery. The results from the 2022 procedure are excellent, and we expect the recent one to be as least as effective.

Long wait times, inaccurate medical records, rude staff and billing issues--a summary of my…read moreexperience at Mercer Eye Associates. The doctor was fine, but the way the practice is run is AWFUL and makes it just not worth the bother. I wish I had selected a different practice for my eye issue. After multiple visits over 3 months, I can say figure on a minimum of 90 minutes for an appointment most of which will be spent waiting around. Your time with the doctor and techs will take 10-15 minutes max. The practice is aware of the problem and the 90 minutes referenced above was an actual suggestion from a staff member when after waiting for over an hour I asked how much longer I would have to wait since I was expected back at work. They truly are not interested in how long you will have to wait. In reviewing my visit notes before giving to another provider, I noted errors in the doctor's instructions for three separate visits. I always take someone with me to appointments to prevent "misunderstandings" so these were not my error. There was also two errors in my medical history. When I brought one of the instruction errors to the doctor's attention during my final visit, he said, "The records haven't been updated." This means that it takes almost four weeks for them to transcribe notes (which are actually entered in the computer during your appointment). Also, if you correct the staff when they read the incorrect note, they make it clear they are not happy with you and act like you made the mistake. Almost two months after my last appointment someone from the billing department called saying there was a problem with my insurance. They were very rude and demanding and said "you have to call your insurance company and YOU have to tell them....." As it turned out there was an error at the insurance company, but the rude demanding attitude was definitely not appreciated. Front desk staff can also be quite moody. Sadly, while the doctor I had was very personable, the overall practice experience prevents me from using this group again or recommending them to others.

Dr. Lavrich is an incredible doctor who has changed my life. If you know anyone who has had Lasix…read moresurgery that didn't go as well as they had hoped, if you know anyone who has been told the damage wasn't fixable or correctable, read on. 10 years ago I had Lasix. They corrected my 400+/20 vision down to about 40/20 (I was so near-sighted that when they said what's the first letter on the chart, I said "what chart" - it was blurry enough that I couldn't tell the chart from the wall.). Unfortunately, while making me less near-sighted, they also cut the flaps off center, so I have diplopia in both eyes. (double vision, even with one eye closed). I also have horrible glare, to the point where being in brightly lit rooms is like trying to see through cheesecloth. I was repeatedly told they couldn't fix it with more surgery, and that glasses and contacts couldn't correct it. I was stuck with poor vision. My sight is so bad when I watch my kids play soccer, I can't tell which one is mine. For 10 years I held out hope, and I've gone to ophthalmologists to see if anything new was possible. Until Now. Until Dr. Lavrich. For the first time, she said "YES, I can give you glasses that correct this!" The moment I was able to look out her window and see the leaves on the trees and the bricks on the building across the street brought me to tears of joy. I am amazed that I have clear vision again, and will forever be grateful. What she does isn't widely acknowledged, and many doctors don't even know it's possible. But, if you know someone with botched Lasix, send them here. Hopefully it won't take them 10 years to find the right Dr. #thankful #joyful #IcanSee #LasixFails

I highly recommend getting their eyes checked for convergence issues, and Dr. Lavrich and her team are amazing.
