Our hot water tank needed to be replaced and my husband was given a quote of $1800. When he asked…read morefor a price breakdown, the technician Mike said, "we don't give price breakdowns". My husband said he needed to know what the $1800 covered so Mike said, "it'll probably cost more if I give you a breakdown of the costs and our cost is not based on your income". Basically, the water tank and parts cost $800 and labor was $1000. At this point my husband said he wanted to have another estimate to which Mike replied, "good luck in finding someone to give you a better price and you're probably going to wait another 2-3 days. Enjoy your cold showers". Mike's attitude and poor customer service makes it worth a couple cold showers rather than give this company our business.

I paid $545 for two toilets complete hardware replacement. My wife found an exact similar kit used and we could have paid less than $80 to conduct the same repair for both toilets. We hired AmeriCool to install the HVAC system in our new build in 2022-23. When placing the heat…read morepump, they opted for convenience instead of paying attention to the design of the home. Whereas the plans called for a unit which exhausted upward, they opted to install a unit which exhausted out the side -- and pointed that right at our front door/porch and directly across several thousand dollars worth of landscaping that had already been installed (unit placement was one of the last install items). Flash forward to winter. Though the weather was typical PNW -- rainy but above freezing -- the heat pump's frigid exhaust created an ever-thickening layer of ice on the concrete porch and steps just outside the front door and along the paver walkway leading to the driveway. Also, the exhaust desiccated several of our plants. We contacted the manufacturer who stated we could build a 4' high cedar slat fence 2' in front of the unit to redirect the exhaust, but this ultimately failed because the unit was tucked into a corner nook between the garage and home. The redirected exhaust built up an ice sheet under the unit and 10' up the adjacent gutter until the ice pushed the unit over on its side. Americool's response: "It happens and you're not under warranty." We worked with another company on a solution which we ultimately performed ourselves -- a wind baffle coupled with gapping the fence slats, a tray under the unit with underground piping to our storm drain, installation of an outlet and placing a plug-in deicing rod in the tray to keep the condensate drainage liquid so it can drain away. On a new build! They could have located the unit anywhere! Or better yet just installed the upward-exhausting unit called for in the plans. Just avoid these fools.

My 40 plus year old drain field distribution lines (which are about 100' each had become (in…read moreseveral areas) plugged solid with roots, causing wastewater to start backing up and overflowing the septic tank. I could not be more pleased with the professionalism and work ethic they displayed as it took approximately twice as long as was expected. They just kept at it until all three lines were completely cleared and running clear. Sean was the lead on this group. I thought the final cost was very reasonable considering they and a two man crew from Goeble worked for nearly 4 hours on what was originally estimated to take a little over half that time.

A great surprise. If you had asked me BEFORE what I thought of plumbers or the plumbing business,…read moreI would have said that it is a parasitical business that should be regulated by the government because of the overwhelming tendency to fraud. So I was nervous when I needed a plumber. But they worked fast, as if they were trying to get the job done as quickly as possible to keep the bill down. They could have dragged their heals a little bit to puff up the bill, but they didn't. Given that this isn't a business that can benefit from repeat business from loyal customers, it is honesty for honesty's sake.

Well, Tom has a new license but has disconnected his two phone numbers and I've sent registered and return receipt letters to his addresses and they have been returned by the PO. He could be nice then turn and be rude. He refused to give a signed contract but did give a receipt that I thought would be binding. Before we hired him and Brian I made sure he had a bond and license. He kept saying I was just supposed to trust him. They did the work and the tankless works fine but when I did a call back on an issue I left several messages and when I didn't get a response I called Navien. When he finally came he kept saying to call him not the company and I told him that I did. Brian was supposed to take over the business but there is no way of getting ahold of either of them. Beware of any business that won't give you a signed contract up front and says just trust me. He was good...until he wasn't.

Last Saturday, I had a copper pipe burst at the hot water tank. I of course called Tom. Since he is not open on the weekends, but I called him. While I waiting for him to return my call, I called other plumbing companies. Only one place was open and I was told no one could help me until Monday. Tom called me back after just a few minutes. Although he was not open and is not scheduled for emergency services, he came right over. Tom said he could hear to panic in my voice and could not turn me away, he had to help. Tom is my superhero!
