As luck would have it thy were posting their end-of-the-season clearance and a perfect pair was in stock. I had budgeted $60-$80 for a new pair, so I was surprised and a tad bit skeptical when I saw a perfect pair of Denali brand for just $30. Next day, I drove down, parked in the large lot and entered, being greeted cheerfully as soon as I walked in. I headed back to shoes, found the pair of Denali's on the wall and within a couple of minutes an employee asked how he could help. I noticed he had been assisting other customers and could hear his patient, professional and cheerful demeanor with each one. After asking for the shoe, he quickly popped off to the back and retrieved my size. Perfect fit and the reinforced toe, which my pointy little elf feet require, was as good as the online picture showed. SCORE! After peeking around the clearance racks, I grabbed some sports bras, further discounted another 25% off, a pocket bug spray for hikes and "after bite" as impulse purchases. Made my way back up to the front, to the pleasant young lady who initially greeted me, paid for my items and out the door I went. So nice to have this dependable business located so close. Big5 has been around my whole life and I have always found something needed at a great price and helpful employees. The store could use a bit of cleaning. Stuff is often out of place or mixed up, but still in the same department which I guess is good. In all, Big 5 is a great option for your youth sports needs. And this is the best one on the area.

He jumped on. It gave me some helpful advice and found the size I wanted in black and that will work too, so I grabbed those. He took care of six people managed to get to me as he could see. With that said, once inside, they do a great job of stocking as much as possible given that this is a slightly smaller Big 5 location than others. I always make a point of coming to this location first because chances are checkout lines will be shorter and then if they don't have what I'm looking for I go up the street to the Granada Hills location. Staff here is also very friendly. They tend to only be at the register and aren't wandering around the store a ton, but I've also never really needed help finding things as the store is very well laid out and intuitive. Prices are fine. Nothing amazing, but they're better priced than other big box sporting good store chains so, once again, this is always our first stop for gear for our 3 growing kids & their youth sports gear. If you give them your email you'll get a weekly email with some good deals that often are catered to whatever sport season is about to start as well which I greatly appreciate. If not, chances are you'll get a coupon in the mail for 20% off or $5 off a purchase of $20 or more. So always keep an eye out for one of those if you know you are going to need to buy anything.

There are certain things I am exempt from with the main one being California Revenue and Taxation Code Section 36021, active and retired peace officers are legally exempt from California's 11% firearm and ammunition excise tax. 36021(a) explicitly exempts retail sales of firearms, firearm precursor parts, and ammunition made to any active or retired peace officer. They just have to complete a form. I have gone into three locations only to argue with Managers and forcibly take my documents back. Could it get more fun? YOU BET IT CAN! Sales tax is NOT Standard in California depending on the City involved. (Pasadena 10.5, Reseda 9.75, Bakersfield 8.25) Not huge UNLESS you are charged the California Excise tax as well. Add 11% a $1000 firearm can set you back $1300 before you get out the door. Add Ammunition, ANOTHER 11% its per sale and separate items per California. If still with me, You Rock. Ruger stopped making a firearm I wanted!! Once the old, new factory was back on line there it was BUT not California compliant. (Ruger does not make State Compliant Firearms. They SHIP with compliant magazines but sillyness like fin grips is up to the reseller or their third party to furnish) Big whoop. On sale, Californication compliant, stupid fin grip but it may be two more years to come back. "ADD TO CART" Oh gee, excise tax is automatic so I called On Line sales support. TIM ROCKS!!!! The guy had no idea about any of what I have mentioned like most of their employees. (Excise tax, different sales tax rates in the same State and COUNTY.)
