Keith gave me a verbal quote of up to $700 to replace the rear brake pads & rotors... a bit high I thought. However the final invoice was $400 more! And... the same exact parts were $250 more than at AutoZone or at O'Reilly Auto Parts. I learned an expensive lesson... always get a written estimate! Warranty: Regarding the markup of parts for a that 2 year/24,0000 mile warranty... most manufactures of rotors already offer a lifetime warranty for defects. Written Estimate: Essential to avoid miscommunication. Unless your installing windshield wipers... every single customer that is quoted hundreds of dollars for services should automatically be provided with a written estimate period! Cutting Corners: A reasonable assumption would be one in which auto mechanical repair jobs are inherently associated with areas of safety concerns. What jobs wouldn't be & how does that justify price gouging? Discount: If you suffered a foodborne illness after dining in a restaurant would you accept a discount or complementary meal for your inconvenience?
