I was blessed with another pleasant exceptional customer service experience from start to finish . I was looking at the Today show on June 5, 2024 . I don't watch a lot of television. A commercial came on for a different flooring company then a light bulb turned on . In that moment I remembered I hadn't replaced the flooring in my kitchen , pantry and laundry rooms. I made a call spoke initially with Joycelyn who answered my call. She found my info in their computer system from 5 years ago . She found an appointment the next day with a window of arrival 0900 - 11:00 am. They aim to arrive at the earlier time of the appointment. My service advisor was scheduled the next day , June 6, 2024 . Later, that day before my appointment , I received a text with a picture of the advisor Fabien D. with his contact number . Fabien was running ‍ late for our 9 am appointment the next day he left a vm . I missed his call by 2 mins but called him back. I wasn't upset but relieved to receive the voice message. We had good conversation when he arrived at my home . Fabien , was attentive and listened well. Fast forward to today . My installer Florencio A. actually arrived earlier than 0900. Again no complaints I rather a early arrival than a late one . . I gave Florencio a tour of the three spaces kitchen , pantry & laundry rooms that he would be working on . He caught me off guard as I was trying to move the last few things that needed to be moved . I am a disabled Navy veteran. Florencio was cool , calm and collect . He didn't gripe at all . FLOORING DIRECT - The floor installer Joe took shortcuts and it's a rushed job. It's supposed to be…read morea two-day project, but they rushed through this job within one day. Poor and incomplete workmanship in terms of removing and reattaching my baseboards. I instructed Joe to just leave the baseboards alone and keep in place after he removed some of them and claimed that they were damaged. So, then they tried to sell me on getting new baseboards for the whole house but I rejected their suggestion. However, Joe didn't care about what I wanted, and they still went ahead and removed then lowered my baseboards after installing the new LVP flooring on the first floor of my house. They left these long, unpainted, exposed, and ugly drywall gaps. They also damaged some of my baseboards and like I said, left behind these long wall gaps in several places. Joe didn't even bother to inform me about the difference in baseboards' heights after reattaching them to my walls. I had to find out about this myself after the floor installer had already "finished" and left. After I texted her my concerns and my complaint, the sales lady Kathy just kept telling me that it's "normal" to have these long exposed wall gaps. She even suggested that my newly hired painter could just paint right over the rough and uneven gap ridges, without incurring additional expenses on my end. Oh really. I'd sure love to find out how much my new paint contractor would charge me just to repair these wall gaps!! Hire this flooring contractor at your own risks.

This will be a bit of an extensive write up so if you don't want to read; Overall Daniel did…read moreamazing work, would absolutely hire him again to do more jobs! The project I had done started a couple months back when I was researching pricing on having concrete poured from the back to the front yard, with a pad to store my garbage cans and any other items on the side of the house, as well as stone edging that matched the front of the house to go along the perimeter of the sidewalk. I had an estimated range of pricing I would be happy with for the amount of concrete and the overall scope of work to be done. Several contractors came out to give me quotes but Daniel was the only one who showed up at the time we had scheduled, which is very much appreciated. We talked about the scope of work, materials required and the timeframe for getting everything done. The pricing for the project was within the range I had researched before so I decided to go ahead and sign on with Daniel for the job. The concrete pour was a single day job. Daniel and his crew showed up in the morning to get all the prep work done and were very accommodating to some of the minor changes that I wanted to implement to the final design. Once that was done it was time to pour, which went about as smoothly as it could've gone. Finally we got the materials required to have the stonework done for the edging on the sidewalk. The materials were delivered to the house the day before and Daniel was again on time the next day to get the project done. We again talked about a couple minor changes to the final design (part of which was suggested by one of his crew) and this was another single day job. Daniel was able to come by the house and clean up everything from the project before I started getting issues from my lovely HOA. Again, overall Daniel did an amazing job, I'm particular about the work done on my house and he was very accommodating with any changes or issues I had. Laundry 7-28-25 $5,600 80 sqft included closet but was not done, along with door hinge. Plus light and water comes in through door they installed improperly. Master Bath$23,000 flooring already has soft spots and raised spots they also left a mess, paint spray, concrete spray in shower, foam and grout in cabinet. The safety bars were installed with only 1 screw on each side and immediately became loose and i almost fell in the shower, I have multiple sclerosis and rely on safety. Deck and ramp 8-10-25 $18,000 The deck was suppose to be made wheel chair accessible because I have multiple sclerosis and it is way to steep (2 feet high 16 feet long) it needs to be 1/12 slope to use a wheel chair or walker on, they also built it to close to my ac unit only 4 inch when its suppose to be 12-24 inch away from ac, I have a new ac unit and have already had issues with it freezing over and its also a fire hazard, had to get it serviced and the ac repair people told us the deck needs to be moved because they built it to close to the ac. Flooring, $14,000 8-27-25 The flooring is not level and has soft spots everywhere including going down entire walkway of the house, raised spots, vinyl planks already coming up all down the entire house. The flooring itself was also damaged during the next project kitchen and bath remodel. They did not protect any of my other rooms or my belongings and completely destroyed a vintage 50 year old dollhouse, and tons of breakable things that were just thrown in big trash bags. Kitchen and bath 9-18-25 $50,000 They took my payment in 3 payments when the contract said 5 and i didn't realize till after i sent pay and after that they basically halted work and were extremely slow at getting back to me or sending up anyone to finish the rest of the work, I was displaced for 4 months when i was told it was going to be 3 weeks on the contract, there is extensive damage to my cabinets and walls and floor, including holes in the walls in cabinets and on the floor in cabinet and since then we've found snakes inside drawers and cabinets where the holes are, and ants coming in from the seam of the floor thats separated throughout the living room and kitchen also the guest bath was not touched. Some brickwork is cracked around suspended arches and cornerstone decorative pieces (e.g. above garage doors) but obviously has been for decades. I specifically called Cornerstone because I wanted a serious contractor who does actual poured footings, not that stacked cylinder mess that could actually crack your foundation worse as they use your house for the jack leverage. Dave was on time, courteous and (given that our appointment was in the middle of the Viral Apocalypse) understanding that I was working from home instead of 'off' for the day of our appointment. We spoke for a bit, he outlined everything well and asked pertinent questions about my reasons for calling, then got down to work inspecting...and recommended no work be done at this time. I offered to pay a service charge but he said that wasn't necessary. We did follow up on the phone briefly (I was busy when he was finished) and I am strongly considering coming back to them for some drainage improvements here and there as precautionary measures.
