After our teenage driver collided with the garage door, we needed quick help. Howard was responsive (over the weekend) and came by at the earliest availability. Howard recommended Linear or another brand that i could buy from a hardware store. I did my research on both brands and went with Linear. Better reviews. I dont want headaches. I recently called them for repairs because our garage door opener would lift and grind halfway up. Howard answered my call and asked about the issue. I found Alliance Overhead Doors from Yelp and couldn't be any happier with their service. I had placed a request for an estimate through Yelp at 9pm last night after not being able to open my garage. Love the system as I simply attached a picture of what I thought the was the problem, went to sleep and woke up this morning with a message with an estimate from Alliance. I called a little after 8:30AM and spoke with Howard. Keep in mind this was a Saturday when most businesses are closed. He answered immediately and told me it was definitely the spring but also could be a gear from what I explained. By 9:00AM, Howard was at my house working on it, and an hour later he was finished. You take it for granted and never give it a second thought, until it stops working. Our garage door worked faithfully for over 10 years until on a Saturday afternoon (and it always happens when businesses are usually closed) it stopped working. Closer inspection disclosed a broken spring- major component and something I won't touch. Contacted Alliance the next week and they picked up pretty fast. As many others have said, Howard answered the call and was courteous and to the point. And luckily he was in the general area on another job, so he stopped by after finishing up. Howard was able to replace our springs, did a check of the door and the mechanism, did some lubrication and even aligned it slightly so the door wouldn't scrape the framing- a minor touch but we appreciated his thoroughness. Having repair done by Howard was great as he talked about what he was doing and the different sizes of springs they are used depending on the doors. The things he noticed, the things he recommended. Service date: 17 October 2022 Victor responded almost immediately to my message request for a quote/service and was able to fit me into his schedule in a timely manner after I tried relentlessly to get service from another business that I had used previously. I thought I needed a strut to reinforce my garage overhead door but he informed me that the door just needed to be lifted since it was essentially overclosing (likely an error from the previous job). On the day of my scheduled service, I received a call informing me that he was 15 minutes out. Since I was not home, my mother met him, and he worked with her to get the service done. The only concern my mother had was him taking down her credit card information since he did not have a card reader. I sugget having cash available if you are uneasy about this process.
