So I just moved to Texas, I have been doing BJJ on and off for 10 plus years. Been to a bunch of places. I was grabbing a cup of Coffee with my wife and came across Alliance Jiu Jitsu. I walked in and was greeted by Professor. Snow and his wife who were warming up. They paused introduced them selves and gave me the info on everything they do. Came back and got in on their open mat on Wednesday. They have a lot of talent that comes in and a diverse class schedule. Women's open mats happen occasionally and hopefully find a slot in the rotation. The kids classes are taught by Coach Ashley and I have been acting as her assistant when I can get off work early enough. I give this place 4 stars based on the quality of Jiu Jitsu, the 5th star is reflective how Sam and his wife run the dojo. It's always neat and clean and they treat everyone like family. I am the newest member and they go above and beyond, asking me how my move and settling into my new community. Samuel Snow and his team are among the most dedicated teachers I've ever met. My daughter started attending jujitsu classes a few weeks ago. Not only is the student welcomed, but the whole family. A true team and family atmosphere is a pleasant surprise when involved with such an individual sport. The only place I've ever given 5 stars, they truly deserve it! Tried out many schools in the area and chose this one despite it being a little out of my radius (18 miles) It's in a golfball shaped building (super cool) I loved the logo too. The gym inside is still growing but from the looks of it, it will be pretty awesome. There's mats in the main area and a fitness room in the back loaded with equipment for any type of routine (Basic workouts, Cardio routines, Bootcamps etc.) They foster a pleasant learning environment, just the right amount of talk, show, and practice. Sam is a great instructor he really wants you to be there and he really makes sure you learn. The students are friendly and encouraging in addition to sharing their experience with one another. If you're a lady and worried about guys beating down on you, well rest assured there are many other ladies here and the guys are gentlemen as well. My kids started here about 5 months ago. They have a great kids program that pushes the kids but makes it fun as well. I joined later so I could roll with the kids and help them on their moves if they needed help at home. Now I am hooked and go more than they do. The gym members are like a big family. I have been enrolled in the Women's Self Defense class here for about 10 classes and I think that this is a fantastic place to go if you or your kids have ever wanted to study BJJ or any of the other martial arts they offer. Sam and his staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and (fortunately for me) completely willing to answer any question or repeat any step. They are great teachers who clearly want all of their students to have fun and succeed. I have learned SO much in the short time I have spent at this gym and I am really glad I enrolled here. I've had my daughters in BJJ for a couple of months and they absolutely love it. Excellent place to train. Samuel Snow is a really nice guy and a phenom level grappler who actively competes. Whether you're looking for a martial arts school for your kids or yourself, Snow Mixed Martial Arts is a fantastic choice if you're in the area. I spent a week there during a training camp where I was training twice a day and I thought their group had some of the toughest grapplers I've ever locked horns with.
