Mr.Ayala is very attentive, and it showed that he wants the best for your child. He's always in the gym when the kids are there; training them, helping them with their forms and just very involved. Now in the kids class it's literally kids of all ages: from 6 all the way to 17. And they work them hard, so don't think you can slack around here. I asked a few members who have been there for awhile why they chose BlackBox, and more than one said they were former crossfitters who preferred the atmosphere at BlackBox more. So far the BlackBox coaches Blake and Todd have given me more hands-on coaching on olympic lifts and other compound movements than I've received anywhere else. While the strength and conditioning classes are going on there will be members of the Texas Barbell Club and other committed oly lifters practicing around you. It reminds me of training at Lord's Boxing Gym in Austin, where class members are mixed in with those doing more structured, long-term training. After breaking her leg and dislocating her ankle last year, she's recovering and strengthening her ankle. The environment is so encouraging and empowering. The coaches strike a great balance between pushing you to go a bit further than you did the time before and allowing you to listen to your body to avoid overdoing it.
