My first visit was a complete mess and I absolutely planned on never coming back…read more I placed an appointment online and after arriving and checking in 15 mins early, I waited 30 mins after my appointment time. I finally asked the desk how much longer it would be and was told I don't know. The screen showing the list of check in was working and then wasn't. Then was back up but didn't have everyone's name on it. So I just left and decided I would reschedule somewhere else. However the lab corp locations around me, this ended up being the most convenient one. My rescheduled appt did go much better but there was a gentleman there who said he's been there for 1.5 hrs and was being told at the desk they already had his blood work. He was highly confused and pissed off and I was scared to do my blood work. Bc what if they are mixing labels on the tubes ? I made sure to check mine that day. I've since been back a couple more times due to routine blood work I need to do now, but each time the visits have been pretty straightforward. I've been in and out with my appointments. The staff is mostly friendly. I guess it just depends on how busy they are and how well the staff is managing their workload. Just be prepared to wait if you come here, esp if you don't utilize making an appointment prior.

This place is hot mess. The first time their computers were down so they couldn't access my…read morereferral; even though I had an appointment, they didn't call beforehand to tell me this. When I was there for the second time, the whole floor smelled like sewage. There were a long waits because there were only two phlebotomists there, and at least one of them was sometimes working at the front desk. When I went to get my actual blood drawn, the phlebotomist PULLED UP THE WRONG PERSON'S BLOOD TESTS. I only caught it because she tried to give me a breathing test and I knew my ordered tests were all blood tests. It turned out it was a computer glitch, known by at least one other person in the office, but there was no sign on the computer warning staff or explaining how to avoid the issue. My veins are tricky, and I had told the staff at the front desk I needed an experienced phlebotomist. After my phlebotomist got the correct tests listed on the screen, she gazed bleakly at my arms for a while. I asked her if she had a lot of experience. She said "Not a lot." So she didn't know how to be careful to double check the name on the computer screen before giving tests, and she was not going to be able to get my blood. (This isn't uncommon for inexperienced phlebotomists, but I'd told them I needed an experienced one!) So I again asked for an *experienced* phlebotomist, and a woman, Clara, at the front desk said she would do it. The good news is that Clara was AWESOME. Knew to use a butterfly needle, got my blood with one prick. Why why was she setting up appointments at the front desk, when she was so clearly skilled in taking blood? It felt like this was a training clinic. The first phlebotomist clearly had substandard skill levels. If she was in training, why wasn't she being supervised? If she wasn't, she shouldn't have been employed. And there were signs up in the lab draw rooms telling staff to not leave garbage on the floor! Staff need to be told that?! A terrible experience overall, especially almost being given someone else's tests. The one exception was Clara. I'd get my blood drawn by her anytime, if she didn't work at this terrible place.

According to their website, Any Lab Test Now can do that for 30 bucks. Cool beans. We walked in to this location at about 3:30 pm on Monday, December 28th. There were a couple of mechanics in the lobby, one on the couch and one being helped by the receptionist. She ignores us, but I assume she'll acknowledge our presence soon. She's the only employee I see in the clinic. So far so good. Then I notice that she's wearing blue latex gloves. At the front desk. As she fills out paperwork, answers the phone, hands a clipboard to the mechanic, she's doing it all with a pair of gloves on. This is the first thing that makes me uneasy. If you have gloves on all the time, it's the same as not wearing gloves at all. Your gloved hands are no longer sanitary if you're touching everything in the clinic with them on. About 5 minutes of talking to the mechanic go by, and she takes him back to the bathroom for a urine test. She leaves him alone in there and comes back to the front desk. Still does not look at us or acknowledge our presence, even though we are less than 5 feet away, staring at her. The mechanic comes back and says he's finished. She goes to the back, gets the urine sample, AND BRINGS IT TO THE FRONT DESK. Places it on the desk and starts slapping labels on it. With those same dirty gloves. I can see what color this dude's piss is because she's freaking PROCESSING A URINE SAMPLE ON THE RECEPTION DESK. At this point we've been standing right in front of the reception desk without her looking at us or uttering a single word to us for about 10 minutes. But at this point it also doesn't matter because I am so horrified by now that there is no way in hell I'm letting this woman stick a needle in my husband's arm. Safety protocols may be able to be discarded by people like this woman when it comes to urine samples with no ill effects, but not being careful when needles are being stuck in people's arms can be a life or death situation. I am not willing to risk my husband contracting a blood-borne illness through this woman's outrageous carelessness, so at that point we left. I would rather pay hundreds of dollars for this same service at a reputable place that follows safety protocol (and common sense) than risk it here. You're probably safe giving them your pee to analyze but there's no way in hell I'd let them stick a needle in my arm or the arm of a loved one for a blood draw. I can't speak to the customer service side of things because we didn't receive any.

It's a shocking fact about me that, unlike most people, I am not a huge fan of medical procedures…read more I know! Take a moment to absorb that information. But sometimes I find myself having to get poked or prodded, for instance, this trip to LabCorp for blood work. And while it's not something I want to put on my calendar every day, I have to say this experience was about 1,000x better than it might have been, so woohoo for that. First, I love that you can just make an appointment online -- super, super easy. I actually got on the computer at 10 and made an appointment for 1 p.m. same day. Second, if you're in West Seattle (or close by) it's really easy to get to. There's parking on the street and inside, and it's a small place in a quiet neighborhood, so much less hassle than trekking to First Hill if you don't have to. Third, I walked right in and was next; no waiting. In fact, I learned when I got there that I didn't even need an appointment -- apparently it's not a long-lines-of-people kind of thing to get blood drawn, so that was good to know just in case. (I am a nervous type and like making appointments.) The surroundings were honestly just so-so; there's a main lobby that's nice, but I was in the lab lobby, which feels more like a waiting nook at an old hospital, but it's fine. The room where the blood was drawn was a little small, and another guy came in to have his done while we were wrapping up my procedure, and that was just a little weird -- I am by far not the worst person about having to give blood, but I don't particularly want to watch someone else's pool up into a vial or bag, either. But the best part was Kristy who checked me in and drew my blood. She was funny, chatty, supportive ("You can grab my arm if you need to,") and kept me laughing as we talked about terrible self-published ebooks. Most importantly, she got that needle in so easily I honestly barely even felt it -- I actually had to check to see if she'd gotten started. And it was over quickly. So high-fives for this office all around!

They sent me to Lapcorp, and the lady was done drawing my blood in less than 1 minute. I went early in the morning and there was no wait.. thank you Lapcorp!
