Underhand bowling ... even total amateurs thought it was pretty run down
K.c. N.

Don't get me wrong ... we had a blast with our Groupon coupons but the lanes were terrible ... we spent a good 20% of our time resetting the pins because either (1) the ball wouldn't return or (2) it would only set 9 out of 10 pins, requiring another reset. Also, the shoes were 75 years old, the finger holes in 90% of the balls are the size for children and the hand blowers on each lane didn't work. I was shocked to see a bowling league there when we left ... I never thought anyone with a modicum of bowling experience would choose to bowl here. We used a Groupon coupon but without that??? $35 for ONE HOUR of bowling and that doesn't include shoes. So, for two people to bowl for two hours would be $45 (fee plus shoes). Ridiculous!

I came to the Sunday special where it is approximately $8.50 at 6pm to bowl all night, which in my opinion is an absolute steal. We were able to play about six games with four people for about three hours! Tons of fun! They also have food and bollards here, however I did not elect to partake in any of it. I'd recommend your own socks because the ones they charge you for isn't that great. The bowling shoes are also don't have a lot of grip to it so you might slide a bit while bowling. The bowling balls also wary a lot in hole sizes and they seem worn out but that's just nick picking at this point. My biggest compliant is that it is HOT AS BALLS! I was literally sweating since the first round of bowling. None the less, i can't complaint too much because it is cheap and a whole lot of fun!

Family kind of place! My young daughter and I come here pretty regularly. They hold leagues and tournaments and such what seems like every weekend. they have a small food selection, typical bar snacks, and a bar that must open later in the evening as it has never been opened while we bowl. The family that runs it are nice people, no complaints. The three stars are for a few reasons: maintenance of the facility, both inside and outside, needs some attention. Stained and molded ceiling tiles, broken tiles, broken chairs, and broken lanes. The outside just looks like it needs a good cleaning and maybe some new asphalt, which is expensive, I get it. Some of their rules, although serving a purpose of some kind, should be looked at a bit differently. One example, is re-usable cups and water bottles like a Yeti cup or Shaker bottle are not allowed in the bowling alley, even if you ask to fill it here from something you purchase. Not very eco-minded. Small issues overall. I know I'll continue to attend here as long as the prices stay reasonable!

Mmm. Gimme.

Bowling! (Wait, do I bowl?) Would you believe some of the best wings in town are here? Seriously, I got pictures at home! You should see 'em, they're beautiful! Big, dark and crispy, meat juicy and sliding off the bones. And their fries, ohmigawd their fries. Om nom nom. ... oh, it's my turn to bowl? Okay, lemme just ... ha ha, gutterballs! Okay, back to eating! (Where have my hands just been?)

Its an ok place

The menu is eclectic in the best way -- you can go comfort‑food heavy or fully vegan and still end up with something flavorful. The black bean burger and goat cheese wontons are especially worth the hype. The vibe is artsy, lively, and a little chaotic, but in a way that makes the experience fun rather than stressful. Service can be unhurried during busy hours, yet the staff stays friendly and attentive. Overall, it's a great place to settle in, enjoy good food, and soak up Gainesville's character.

I loved curia!! I ordered a cappuccino with orange cardamom syrup and it was extremely satisfying!…read moreThe orange didn't really come through a whole lot but the cardamom was front and center (which I loved). My boyfriend got a cappuccino with strawberry syrup but we didn't really taste the strawberry in his. Regardless, it was delicious. We also got one of their biscotti which seemed like they made in house but I'm not sure. It was yummy, but definitely was not a very traditional recipe. It tasted more like a short bread than a biscotti but still very yummy. We walked out to the food truck to get some vegan bites and they definitely met expectations. The crabby patty was delicious with a great texture, and my boyfriends patty melt was also super good. We shared a mac and cheese and honestly I was full before we even got to that. The Mac and cheese was great but did taste a lot like coconut so if you're not into that then maybe veer away. The ambience was a mixed bag. The initial shop that you order the coffee in had a very cozy vibe with great decor. If you walk past the patio into the overflow seating the vibe changes a ton. The decor felt very uncanny valley, back rooms, like very odd. I think they need to work on that side of the property a little bit and make it more cozy. Maybe it's a work in progress or maybe they like it that way, I'm not sure, but it wasn't the sort of vibe that made me want to stick around. Overall great experience though! Will be coming back & hopefully I can get seating in the main shop ;)

Apple Maps struggled to provided proper directions to parking and it might be because the area is under construction so just give yourself time to find Loosey's especially if going for dinner. It sure is worth the effort though, especially if you get Matthew as your server. He is full of wit and great local knowledge. He charmed our table from our first encounter. Loosey's has to be a local favorite because the quality and freshness of the food is outstanding. Matthew is a local treasure and made our experience there so memorable and fun. We all remarked that it must be so electric there when live music is on stage or it's a Gator game day. We started with the loaded potato skins. There were 5 large pieces that were covered with toppings and delivered pipping hot. I could easily order that as a meal next time I'm in town. Their house ranch dipping sauce that is drizzled on top was delicious. Several in our group ordered the Chic-fil Loosey's, which is a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, but I wasn't able to grab a photo as they were so eager to get started eating it. The portion of chicken breast was extremely large and the batter was perfectly crispy. Both diners exclaimed it was one of their all- time favorite chicken sandwiches they had ever eaten. Another diner took advantage of their wing special and exclaimed the Buffalo Garlic sauce was fantastic and she paired them with their ranch as well. She loved their added touch of the small paper basket topping the plate of wings for the bones. I had the Classic Beef Burger and it was cooked perfectly. There was a nice peppery flavor to the grill of the burger and the patty size was more than I expected. Especially for the price. I was so happy we found Loosey's. It was really good food. I encourage you to look past the construction mess and the "old wooden bar" stereotypes and trust me when o say, they take great pride on preparing high quality food.

Beautiful day so we sat outside in a lovely patio area. Great beer menu with draughts imported or domestic as well as a full bar. The menu was pretty much standard bar fare I had fish and chips and my wife had Mac and cheese. The fries on my plate were covered in salt. I tried to shake it off and wound up with a layer of salt on my plate. Most restaurant food is too salty for me as I cook at home low salt but this was crazy. I decided to try the Mac and cheese. It also had a cap of salt on it. I tried to dig to the bottom of the crock thinking that wouldn't be salty but I was wrong. The dish was prepared with salt throughout. Time to go and I did complain. The waitress said she hears that a lot and she offered to replace our meal to go but we didn't take her up on that offer. The fish was great! And we loved the vibe of the restaurant inside and out. I would go back again but knowing that I would order SALT FREE !!
