Chat GBT recommended that I buy Quick Dam Flood Bags to prepare for the Nor'Easter of September 2026, and Reddit users say that the product is reliable. The sandless bags are water-activated, and they swell to prevent heavy rain from seeping through driveways and doorways. Google said that the Home Depot (HD) in Bay Shore had the most in stock (54 bags) compared to other local HDs and hardware stores. Store employee Trisha escorted me to the aisle where the product is located, and she gave instructions on how to use it. She was so helpful! Another employee Ashley, who was standing behind the customer service desk, pointed to the aisle which contained the flashlights that I was also looking for. It cost me about $65 to walk out the door with both items, so they better work well! I had such a good experience at the HD in Bay Shore that I am definitely returning to this location even though I live closer to others.

They redid a bathroom and I fell in love with the tile they used in there so I always kept in the back of my head if I ever redid my house, I would like tile something like that, but when I looked it up. Whoa! Where he got the tile from imported tile from Italy, the price was way out of my range, but I found exactly what I needed here at Home Depot not only did I find all of the tiles that I needed. I was able to mix a match styles of the hardware accessories. Also including the toilet and shower. I ordered everything online and paid for it through PayPal and had it delivered, and I am still in love with the choices I made. Glad I was able to find affordable matches for high end designs. But then there's places like Costello's and perhaps they don't have lumber (I could be wrong on this) or a huge selection of power tools (they have a decent selection, don't get me wrong) but they have heart and soul and really great staff! And hot tubs! We recently popped in here for a Father's Day gift after the sticker shock on those good flashlights that require a battery that costs more than the flashlight itself (because you use this battery on other power tools, but my father would only need it for the battery). There was someone to help us and also let us know that we had just missed a good sale but that they do rotating sales regularly etc, so check back. We ended up with a Leatherman instead but these apparently go on sale, too. The point is that they have good sales and I'd come back here any day before I stepped foot into a Home Depot. Also because I like admiring hot tubs and thinking back to when I had a hot tub and real winters.

I ended up not going with tile here as the dye lots were all different and it made me very nervous. I did, however, buy their line of LVP, NuCore in Gunstock oak and I cannot wait for my contractor to put it in my laundry floor and eventually my basement. Seems to have a strong living system and is so beautiful. My warning if you are to get tile is to inspect all before you bring home. Just seeing the variance of the shades in the dye lots scared me enough to not move forward with the tile. LVP isn't so bad as wood naturally has different shades and it's meant to look that way. 4 stars for excellent customer service and clean store. Also, I am excited to use my LVP Pro tip: go on their website and use their AI tool before going to the store. We did that the second time around and it wasn't as overwhelming. The prices here are really excellent compared to other tile places but I think due to the dye lot differences. LVP seemed like a great value
