I made an appointment for 2pm and arrived on time. After 20 minutes of waiting I went to the desk and expressed my dissatisfaction. I was told I was "next." At 2:32 I went to the desk and demanded a refund. It took 10 more minutes for a manager to refund my payment. I left angry and disgusted. I don't reward poor service. read more

Despite a couple of less-than-stellar reviews, I decided to give this place a shot, especially since the complaints were about the staff and the general appearance, not the doctors. Over the last few months, I've begun to realize that I need glasses. Over the past couple of weeks, it's been really noticeable. Yesterday, I could barely read my work emails. This wouldn't be a hard case. I just needed an eyeglass prescription. I made the call after doing a distance search. A staff member indicated, after taking a lot of information, that I couldn't be seen for two weeks. I immediately said that I couldn't make an appointment, as I just needed a prescription, but I needed it sooner. We got off the phone, and she called me back a couple of minutes later, explaining that she didn't realize that they could actually see me within the hour, around noon, in fact. I took it. In case it isn't obvious (and it wasn't to me,) this is a downtown location. Not knowing how long this would take, I put a bunch of coins in the meter, four bucks for two hours, which is the max. The receptionist was on the phone and without looking up, pushed a check-in clipboard toward me. I signed it. There were only 3 names ahead of mine, and they'd all been seen. Still, I waited for 15 minutes before the same staff member asked me if I was a new patient. She then gave me paperwork. Another 25 minutes later, my name was called. I never saw another patient go in or out. The doctor's assistant did a few tests with zero explanation of what she was measuring, but I didn't care...just wanted that script. She then sat down and asked me the exact same questions I had just answered on the paper in front of her. I mean, the exact long list. Another ten minutes later, the doc comes. Finally, here was someone who was polite, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. Ultimately, however, she was the deal breaker. My intent was to see a real eye doctor and get a prescription. This is all. I had no intention of purchasing glasses, especially since they keep them locked up, so you need a staff member to walk you through the try-on process. Moreover, my coworkers insisted I buy them from one of the better-priced online sites that they use. While I understand that eye centers make money this way, if I have paid for an eye exam, I should be entitled to my results. This appointment had taken long enough that I had a genuine concern that I'd get a parking ticket. I didn't have time to shop for expensive glasses with a staff member who found it proper etiquette to speak loudly and at length with coworkers in another language while confused customers wondered if they were the subject of the rant. A switch seemed to go off in the doctor when I asked her if I could have a copy of my prescription. She seemed offended as I explained that I was worried about getting a parking ticket and had to go. She curtly said, "I can get you a copy." She then proceeded to take 20 minutes to get me the prescription. I walked out with the absolute minimal prescription information, even though she had spent a good 45 minutes taking every measurement possible. Later in the day when I tried to purchase eyeglasses, I found that I needed several other measurements, 3 numbers that are required to order well-fitting eyeglasses. I looked at the paper she had given me. She had purposely left those 3 spaces on the form blank, knowing that I needed this. I'll give the bottom line, and I'm not trying to hurt their business. In fact, from what I could tell, their patient base most likely isn't comprised of avid online-review readers. The bottom line is, if you know about your eyes and need a checkup or something, this place is fine. The doctors, by all accounts, know what they're doing. A place like this needs an experienced patient base. First timers, don't lose your optical virginity here. read more

So I was here last year with my 5 year old, and Maritza was so helpful I couldn't believe how caring she was. Well we returned today for his yearly check up and I could not believe the amazing customer service I received from the medical team!!!! Elides,Giermana, Melissa and Ms Cathy YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!! Yes, before I left I went back over to get all of their names. They really love their jobs. Dr. Kay's did his exam and she was amazing with him!!!! I love this place and will forever be a customer here. How did one business get so many caring and outgoing employees? the ONLY good thing about Hamilton Vision Center are the optometrists & the ladies that prep you beforehand (check your glasses for your current prescription, ask you a few questions) & that's literally it. the frame selection isn't up to par & the ladies at the front desk are less than pleasant. my initial appointment was on the 30th, returned the 5th to move forward with purchasing glasses & my file was no where in sight.. was promised a call when it was located & never heard back. extremely unprofessional. if you're only in need of an eye exam I would suggest this place but definitely not for the whole package! read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would! The owner and upper management are the worst I have come across EVER! I ordered a pair of $250 sports glasses that came in wrong the first time and never came in after that. The manager attempted a half price offer only followed up by CANCELING my order and not telling me. Over 2 months of this pathetic customer service. I finally go in for a refund and the COWARD they call an owner would not come out to apologize! This place is a disgrace. I went there for convenience, but NEVER AGAIN!! Worst customer service I have ever received. I was pretty much told I was stupid for waiting to come in to get my contacts but was never told that I had a time limit to come in. The heavy girl with Brown hair in the front is beyond rude and the rest of them don't seem that much better. So I informed them that I will absolutely be taking my business elsewhere, where I will be treated like a human being. Another woman ended up calling me telling me I needed to go somewhere else from now on, Almost like they wanted to be the ones that Kicked me out. I can promise you I would never step into such a ghetto place ever again in my entire life. If you want somewhere to go that they talk to you like you live on a street or in the ghetto then this is the place for you to go. But if you want a high class experience where they treat you like a human being I suggest you take your business elsewhere. The manager also did not have the nerve to call me. Instead he hides behind the internet and posts below! Just to reiterate, I go in there to get service, got major attitude from his worker, tell them I am never coming back, get a rude call, call back to speak to manager with no answer or call back. I have a very special vision issue. That being said Dr. Cox is amazing with me. I would give her and Dr. Dalton 10 stars if I could. They both understand this vision issue, and work quite hard to make sure I see as much as possible! This is a feat when you have scar tissue deep in your cornea in the center of your iris, and the other eye compensates for the loss of vision. They take their time with me knowing that each adjustment they make will take my brain to adjust. I did however go 4 stars because the office is a bit run down inside, the equipment is excellent, but they could stand to update things like the carpets, I have difficulty with a carpet on a carpet. It casts a shadow that causes me to question if there is a step. They could also work with their staff. Their girls in reception are absolutely rude to any non Spanish speaker. They talk with out any knowledge, and when confronted with truth they turn into little bitches who should be fighting in a back alley over their skeezy baby daddies. They say nasty things about the patients when they think no one can understand them. Get these amazing doctors in another environment and I would give them the full 10 stars they deserve. read more
