Arrived on time for a 12:30 PM appointment. At 1:18 PM, I was still standing at the front counter trying to check in. Nearly 50 minutes were spent with "Taina" attempting check-in due to an "insurance system issue," followed by failed verification attempts and multiple handoffs to office manager "Heather"--with no resolution. Despite being unable to confirm my copay or deductible, they pushed for upfront payment because of their internal insurance system outage. That is not standard practice. The front counter and waiting area were disorganized, unclear billing logic, and zero respect for scheduled appointment time. Dr. Howard Kushnick was present but disengaged from the breakdown occurring at the front desk, while basic patient intake remained completely unresolved. At that point, I requested my insurance and credit card back and left without being seen. The recurring themes in other reviews--extended delays, administrative inefficiency, and payment-first aggressiveness--were directly experienced. If you read the other reviews here -- believe them. The woman at the front desk is rude and slow. Today, I called this morning to ask that my records be sent to Will's Eye for a cataract consultation. I got an automated response asking me if I want to get a call back before the end of business day. I input my number and hit 1 for yes. Never got the call back. I'll check again on Monday. read more

Insurance error delayed the check-in for my initial appointment. After the paperwork was complete, I then waited in the lobby for 45 minutes and finally had to leave. I can't wait another several weeks for the next appointment so I'll look for another doctor. It wasn't my fault or the office's fault for the error, but being forgotten in the waiting room is the issue. I now have to wait even longer and forced to spend money on glasses that will be replaced after surgery. Horrible experience, lost hours of my life and forced to spend money I shouldn't need to spend. read more

do not go here. they allow doctors not to return calls when patients need or ask for eye care advise. When they do the doctor themselves return the call and starts yelling and badgering the patient not to mention making up some lies about how supposedly the patient was angry and irate that I did not receive a call in two days. Then later the patient calls the manager and she sides with the doctor. what exactly is going on in this world of medical. it is a sham if its not being able to see the dr in the timely manner its the medical personal acting like they are god almighty and can do what they want read more

I'll start by saying that I continue to have the HIGHEST REGARD for DR. BALOH, the specialist from OCLI who I have been seeing for a few years. Because of the great experience I had with him, I decided to try their general services for an eye exam and routine care. The optometrist did not conduct the testing for updating my prescription - I'm not certain who the person was who did this, but it was quick (a few clicks on each eye) and resulted in no change to my contact prescription (despite me telling her that I could not read with them) and a slight change to my eyeglass prescription (I have since filled the prescription and have to say the new glasses are okay - but not as sharp as I would expect with a new prescription). Eventually Dr. Randle, the optometrist, did come in and do a cursory eye exam. She noted that there appeared to be some pressure, but rather than dilating my eyes to further examine them, she told me I would need to schedule another appointment for 3 months later. Today was supposed to be that appointment. On Friday I got text to confirm the appointment and also got a phone call to cancel the appointment - hmmmmmm. So, in attempting to clarify whether there was or was not an appointment, I called on Friday, only to be on hold for over 30 minutes. On Monday, I called again with the same result. So today, I showed up for the appointment, and of course was told that it was canceled. I asked why they did not answer their phones. The receptionist just kept looking ahead and did not even deign to answer the question. Just so so rude. If you don't mind being treated like your time is of no importance, then go here by all means. I will summarize by saying that I have NEVER NEVER left a negative review. I was just so put off by this experience that I felt compelled to do this. read more

Appt was at 1:30 I called and said I was 15 minutes late. Lots of traffic and road work on a Monday morning. I left my house at 11:30 to make the appt an hour and a half away. When I got to the office they said they had to fit me in. So from 1:45 until 3:30 I was finally called. Than from 3:30 I told 4:30 I sat waiting and I heard the doctor says that's consequence you pay for being late. Having me wait was intentional . So you figure I left my house at 11:30 I sat in the office until 4:30 no water nothing to eat no one checked on me no one cared all because I was 15 minutes late. I would not at all ever suggest anybody ever go to this eye doctor for your own health. Because I left at 4:30 and sat in the car that was 106° I had to wait for it to cool off I was dizzy and I could not drive. I returned home at 7:45 on that Monday after finally someone in the parking lot help me with snacks and water or else I probably would have been dead no thanks to the doctor. read more

Checked in early for my children's appointments.. as we are the only ones in the waiting room.. we are now sitting here 30+ minutes and now past both their appointments! To boot 2 other people checked in and were taken back right away! Looks like we will be looking for another eye doctor! read more

First of all, I would like to point out that I don't have a single complaint about the doctors at this location. They have been professional and pleasant each time I have visited there. An over all complaint is the wait time. It is always excessive. Now, for the staff. I give at least two of them a 0 rating. Not even one star. They have been rude, unkind,insulting and downright punch worthy. I had an emergency appointment because I was losing the vision in one eye and needed to be seen ASAP. When I came in, I could barely see where I was going so I mistakenly stood in the wrong place for check in. An arrogant prick behind the desk started berating me. Can't you read the signs? You're supposed to stand OVER THERE! I looked where he pointed. There were several people standing in line and they all decided that they should make disgusted faces at me as I passed. Great way to treat patients. I decided that since everyone else was alright after that, I would let is slide. Yesterday I had to go back for a recheck. The eye doc was awesome. I had another appointment after this one and by the time I got through the long wait time and was waiting to check out, there were four people ahead of me. I needed to leave because my ride was waiting, so I left without checking out which is something I have never done. I called LVEC from the car to tell them that I would mail the paper they had given me since I had to leave but they weren't answering. So I called today to let them know what happened and to assure them that I would mail the paper. Well, this woman started Yelling at me. How I wasn't supposed to leave with that paper and I need to march right over there and return it. She went on and on, not letting me get a word in until I just hung up. I am never returning there. It is bad enough to be suffering from a painful eye malady without having miserable people treating you like the crap that they are. read more

THE WORST. I would give zero stars if I could. We have been patients in this place for decades. We have seen 4 doctors there. They make you wait 3 hours everytime you go in. No accommodations for us elderly, diabetic frail people. If you need a snack during those 3 hours , you might lose your place in line if you go to your car to get food. We moved out of state and needed our records. They have this place locked down like Fort Knox. Good luck getting your medical records in time to see your new doctor. And when you do finally get your records 3 months later, it's handwritten illegible chicken scratch by the doctor. Finally, good luck getting anyone on the phone- to make an appt, to change an appt: the phone just rings and rings then goes to a voicemail. Worst office ever. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. I went there specifically because I have been having trouble seeing both at a distance and up close. Only to go to their office and have them adamantly tell me that I don't have trouble seeing at a distance. Which makes no sense at all because only you can see through your own eyes. They flat out refused to help. First issue was that it took several days for them to respond to an appointment request. Second issue is that they knew that I was coming for an eye exam. Apparently, their standard practice is to dialate your pupils for this, which is fine but most places either supply plastic sunglasses afterwards or let you know before the appointment so you csn either have a ride or bring in your own sunglasses. They did neither and I promptly fell off the curb into the parking lot as soon as I got outside. It's not the end of the world but I did bust up my knee and left hand. Third issue is that they were trying to upsell from contacts to lenses and frames which cost more. Even though my concern is getting help for my sight, no one likes to be swindled. read more

Do you like surprise medical bills to the tune of $100 or more? If so, then this practice is for you! If not, go elsewhere. During my regular appointment, they used a machine that was $100 above and beyond what my insurance covered. There was no warning that this machine would be an extra cost. I started going here 14 years ago for Dr. Tractman. He was absolutely amazing. He has since retired and I still go here for the rest of my family. The one star review is not bc of the doctors it's bc of the phone system they now have in place. You have to go thru the appointment line for ANY question or concern you may have. There is no direct line to the receptionist at the office you are trying to get in touch with. It turns into a three step very long annoying process to ask one simple question. If I didn't get such good care, I'd leave in a heart beat. It's SO irritating and inefficient. read more

Extreme overbooking and very rude staff - I first had Dr Krushnik and between him hurrying, mumbling and the mask I had absolutely no idea what he said - then I returned to see dr carter- he was very pleasant and kind but the exam was done by an assistant in 10 minutes so I'm not sure how my new glasses will help - we'll have to wait and see - I seriously would never recommend this place for anyone... read more

Took my toddler to see Dr. Trachman. Did not have any set expectations and was blown away by how quick, efficient, and child friendly his exam was. My child was not an easy patient and the Dr. was silly, upbeat and wonderful. We were referred here by our pediatrician and were not disappointed. Truly, a gem. read more

If you have a child, they need eye care, go here. Period. Dr. Trachman is great with children, competent and communicates with depth and clarity. We feel very comfortable with him and the staff at the Bethlehem office. We haven't visited the Allentown office as of yet. Please note, there is no automatic information flow between the 2 offices. If you are a patient at one office and want to use the other office you must have your records transferred. Also, note that Dr. T. is very busy and it will take 3 weeks to a month to see him. Dr. Saad is a great Opthamologist, and her staff is quick, friendly and attentive. I never have to wait long to be seen...even at the end of the day. My exam was thorough, and all the terminology they used was explained in plain English. Nice selection of eye glasses as well. read more

I only wish I could give them in the negative stars because they DO Not deserve any thing positive. I have been trying to get an appointment for my elderly mother as she moved in with us last year. After the last appointment with her absolutely wonderful optometrist from home in June, she had highly recommended this office as she knew of them from her earlier years. When I told her what had happened, she said obviously things have changed and was sorry for putting us through that. From that point on given the pandemic, I called to try to schedule an appointment. I really should have done my own research on this place because after letting quite a few others know what happened, I discovered I wasn't the only one they had been rude and difficult with. Long story short, I had been very polite and patient since June in regards to scheduling. However, my mother was in limbo as far as a doctor as her previous doctor had sent her entire file here. I told them numerous times I was almost out of refills of her eye drops to prevent glaucoma. They would not renew the prescription until they saw her. WELL........ calling them now once a week to schedule and never being able to talk to someone who could schedule (they would give me an appointment, put me on hold, and then come back and say that they can't schedule appointments. So exactly what would that person's job be?) the urgency for medication they would not prescribe until they saw her was my main concern. Our last conversation on my part was a little unpleasant. With all their beating around the bush, and not returning my calls for weeks it became blatantly clear they had no intention on taking my mother on so I asked them to refer me to another doctor which they did not but had the nerve to tell me I could come pick up the records rather than them forwarding them. I don't think so.... That was it and I hung up on them. Forward fast 3 days, we received a certified letter from them saying we should go to another doctor. I am now laughing hysterically because if they didn't get that message when I asked about forwarding her records elsewhere they should have when I hung up on them! Anyone considering going to this practice good luck. I would not recommend on their service. I never made it to recommend their doctors. Do your research before committing. read more

I expected to get a new pair of contacts while leaving like my previous eye doctor at Walmart provides me with when my vision changes. They did not provide just handed me a script and said bye. I was diagnosed with glaucoma by Dr. Kushnick who put me on eye drops. My condition hasn't improved, feel it's getting worse. Dr. Kushnick always rushes in and out of the room as if he's about to miss the train, speaks pretty fast, hard to understand, uses medical jargon and expects you to understand/digest the words that come out of his mouth. With all due respect to Dr. Kusnick, you need to speak in an understandable manner, treat your patient with care and patience and share diagnostic determination backed up by lab results. His staff at the front desk are unfriendly, loud, and RUDE. I should have stopped seeing him after my first visit when they made me wait for more than 3 hours! Yes my appointment was pre-scheduled 2 months ago. I'm not going back to this clinic ever again. Rule of thumb: If front desk staff are not treating you right with respect, walk away, go somewhere else. That means upper level management is NOT treating subordinates with respect either. My wife had an emergency. We called her regular doctor who was not available on this Saturday. We were referred to Lehigh Valley Eye Center. My wife explained that she was 80. She had Glaucoma and macular degeneration. She had experienced a sudden change in vision. We drove the 30 miles to Allentown. after 1/2 and hour my wife was seen by the technician who did some tests and went off to tell the doctor. After a significant wait she saw the doctor he said he was a pediatric eye doctor and had no idea how he could help her. He offered no alternative. Later we learned that there was another doctor in the office. The first doctor did not suggest having my wife see the other doctor. We wasted the entire morning. Had we known that the doctors were not going to be able to help, and from my wife age and medical condition the staff should have known they could not help, we could have explored other options read more

I went to Lehigh Valley Hospital on a Wed night with sudden flashing light and multiple large floaters in my right eye. These were new symptoms to me, and very scary as it impaired my vision. At the hospital doctors did test and told me that I probably had a detached retina. I have family that know doctors at Lehigh Valley Eye Center in Allentown, so I called them first thing Thurs morning. I got nothing but a runaround. They lied to me 3 different times as to why they weren't able to see me. I finally had the hospital call them, and they said that they really don't have any doctors that are capable of handling my problem. I thought these doctors are Opthalmologist??? Really. I think they only want to treat patients that need something that will put a lot of money in their pocket for little time and effort....like cataracts. Please don't pay your money to so called Opthalmologist that pick and choose what they want to do.....Very sad situation. I was able to get Bethlehem Eye Associates to see me right away, and they took very good care of me. read more
