We left an hour and a half after closing on a holiday Friday, with Dr. Fox and his caring, lovely admin person wishing us well. Dr. Tim Fox is truly a gifted intuitive healer. He not only cared for my son's eyes masterfully, but also, with true grace and noteworthy subtlety, knew how to care for the hearts of a 10 year old frightened he may have to on chemo injections again, a frantic mom afraid he'll go blind and trying to keep a straight face, his worried grandmother, and a teenager. As far as non-emergent care: he's clearly a pro; his lovely admin went out of her way to meet the needs of my family in the waiting room and to give me everything I could need in the future; he had an office dog for many years; his office is a rotating art display for local artists; and he's a gentle-spirited, golden-hearted, smart, abundantly likeable human. I don't live near here and will likely never see him again, but he will always be a truly moving and uplifting part of our lives. I will tell this story, and it will bring out the good in us. I love the classic tortoise shell color with the sleek, modern rectangular lines of the frames. I knew I was in trouble when I tried them on and they looked great on me. At $675, they are also an investment, though I'm a big believer in buying less, and spending more for quality. Josh of Kitto Optical encouraged me to snap a photo of the frames and take my time thinking about it. The next few days I was STILL thinking about the Thom Browne frames and called Kitto Optical to buy them. Josh answered the phone and was so nice and helpful. Once I decided on them I did not know how difficult it would be to find a store that had them in stock and at the best price. This is where Josh made me a believer. When I returned distressed -- unable to read my phone, struggling with depth perception, even falling -- I was given shifting explanations and conflicting narratives and was ultimately made to feel the outcome was my fault. Dr. O'Brien's communication style came across as rushed and dismissive. When I raised concerns, the response felt combative rather than collaborative, leaving little room for genuine dialogue about my care. The payment was complete; the accountability was not. I am now under the care of another surgeon while I explore options to correct what was done.
