Dr. Fox is an angel on earth. My son had an optical emergency on Good Friday. I called Fox…read moreOptical minutes before closing, he got right on the phone, and warmly told us to come right in. We left an hour and a half after closing on a holiday Friday, with Dr. Fox and his caring, lovely admin person wishing us well. Dr. Tim Fox is truly a gifted intuitive healer. He not only cared for my son's eyes masterfully, but also, with true grace and noteworthy subtlety, knew how to care for the hearts of a 10 year old frightened he may have to on chemo injections again, a frantic mom afraid he'll go blind and trying to keep a straight face, his worried grandmother, and a teenager. As far as non-emergent care: he's clearly a pro; his lovely admin went out of her way to meet the needs of my family in the waiting room and to give me everything I could need in the future; he had an office dog for many years; his office is a rotating art display for local artists; and he's a gentle-spirited, golden-hearted, smart, abundantly likeable human. I don't live near here and will likely never see him again, but he will always be a truly moving and uplifting part of our lives. I will tell this story, and it will bring out the good in us. Thank you, Dr. Fox.

I was referred to them by existing clients and had the best eye exam with Dr. Fox. He took time to pinpoint my vision needs. I picked out frames and have since gotten more compliments on my glasses than anything else I own. In addition to the care provided by Dr. Fox, the staff is very helpful and informative. They are happy to help you select frames but are not overbearing like places at the mall. I went in today with hopelessly broken Wayfarer sunglasses and they were able to fix them on the spot. It doesn't get any better than this. Worth every penny.

In June of 2015 I was hit by a car while riding my motorcycle, and my (helmeted) head hit the…read morepavement. After the accident I experienced headaches, blurry vision, and a bleeding eye. A neurologist diagnosed a concussion, and said the bloody eye was also a result of hitting my head. I scheduled an exam with Dr. McDonald. During my visit she said my bloody eye was "probably" a result of the trauma to my head. I was happy with the exam itself, and she gave me a stronger prescription than I had been using. When I filed a claim with the insurance company of the driver who hit me, Dr. McDonald denied that my bleeding eye had anything to do with the accident, contradicting what she told me during my office visit. I was very disappointed, and will not return to her practice.

Several years ago, Dr. McDonald saw my daughter at age 10. Several years before, we had been told…read moreby Dr. Gaylord Ojers that she had no peripheral vision. He peremptorily insisted on skull X-rays which found nothing. We were sure that her peripheral vision was fine which was found to be the case after a visit to a well known Eye Hospital in Philadelphia where they had much more advanced instruments. In fact, ophthalmologists at this hospital said, "Do NOT go to any Bethlehem Ophthalmologists!" Despite that warning, when our daughter began to complain of headaches and difficulty seeing the board in class, I tried to make an appointment with a Dr. Gentile, whom we had seen, but instead were shunted to Dr. Marilyn McDonald. Our daughter was tested NOT by the Dr., but by office staff. Afterward, Dr.McDonald called to tell me that our daughter had no peripheral vision. I explained the above, but she insisted the child must return to her office for further testing. When she went back, OFFICE STAFF again did the same tests all over again and to add insult to injury, we were charged for this a second time. The results were the same...no peripheral vision. We made a second trip to Philadelphia to the Eye Hospital where testing revealed that her peripheral vision was stellar. I met with a group of ophthalmologists at the hospital. I was again reminded by them of their initial admonition..."We thought we told you NOT to go to any Bethlehem ophthalmologists." Perhaps Dr. McDonald has invested in some more advanced instruments, but I could not recommend her based on the above.
