Extremely Disappointing Experience at Castle Blood…read more My boyfriend and I went to Castle Blood last night, and we were genuinely excited to experience it. Unfortunately, before we even made it inside, an employee at the front entrance completely ruined our experience with his disrespectful and humiliating behavior. While we were waiting in line, this employee began publicly calling people out and embarrassing them in front of a crowd. I had taken a picture of him because I thought it looked so cool and was looking at it on my phone when he singled me out in front of a huge crowd of strangers, making me feel as though I was being reprimanded and put on the spot. When I showed him the picture I had taken, he actually invited me to take a picture with him, which I thought was a nice way to turn the interaction around. Unfortunately, that was short-lived. He then turned his attention to my boyfriend, began questioning him about his job, and proceeded to make him the target of a humiliating spectacle in front of the entire crowd. After my boyfriend explained his career this employee began belittling him and dismissing his work as not being a real job, and implying that what he does isn't anything to be proud of (the man was obviously feeling inferior because of his career) He then made the entire crowd call my boyfriend a condescending nickname, point at him, and call him stupid and tell him his job isn't real multiple times. It probably lasted a whole 5 minutes the entire exchange with him treating us this way. Imagine standing in a line with a crowd of complete strangers while an employee of the business you're paying to visit encourages those same strangers to ridicule you, call you stupid and then make you go into the haunt for the next hour having to work with those same people as a team. It was humiliating, disrespectful, and completely unacceptable. We were there to have fun, enjoy a haunted attraction, and make memories together. Instead, we were standing outside wondering why an employee thought it was appropriate to demean paying customers for his own entertainment. There is a difference between playful banter and making people the targets of public humiliation. What we experienced crossed that line. Honestly, we wanted to turn around and leave immediately. The only reason we continued was because our tickets were nonrefundable, and we weren't willing to throw away the money we had already spent. No customer should feel trapped into continuing with an experience after being treated in such a way. Castle Blood should seriously reconsider whether this kind of behavior is appropriate for its staff. If this is considered acceptable customer interaction, it reflects very poorly on the business. An employee should be helping create an entertaining atmosphere, not making guests feel belittled, targeted, or degraded before they even enter the attraction. We arrived excited and left with a terrible impression before the experience had even properly begun. I would caution anyone considering visiting with their significant other, family, or friends that the treatment you receive at the entrance may be anything but welcoming. We came looking forward to a fun night out, and instead, we were publicly humiliated by someone who seemed far more interested in making himself get off rather than making customers feel welcome. Castle Blood, your customers deserve better than this. A haunted attraction should leave people scared because of the experience inside, not uncomfortable and humiliated because of how an employee treats them outside.

They offered us to come back but we weren't able to take advantage. My oldest did stay with his aunt and had the time of his life. He loved the sword show and being able to buy his own wooden sword. In 2026, the festival is being held for several weeks in the late summer and early fall. Tickets are for a specific single day and cost $27 per adult and $12 per child at the gate and slightly less online. Some weekends are themed: Celtic, children's, mead and whiskey, pirate, and wine revelry and romance. For about 12 years, I have been a customer of the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival. In 2026, through the website, I purchased tickets for my husband and me for opening day. Unfortunately, the weather had been rainy in previous days, so we drove one hour to the festival, and an employee at the gate told the visitors that the festival was too muddy and unsafe and thus would open one week later! I had looked at the website on the previous day, but apparently it had not yet been updated about the delayed opening date. So we returned the following weekend, and thankfully the festival was open. At the entrance an employee promptly scanned our tickets and admitted us. As we walked around, we saw employees and many visitors wearing costumes. Entertainment included knight jousting, washing-well wenches, music and singing, witch trial, flame-throwing, sword swallowing, juggling, archery, axe throwing, and more. Several dozen shops sold a variety of clothing, accessories, paintings, armor, pottery, soaps, leather goods, swords and shields, candles, incense, etcetera. I felt most interested in eating the foods. Many restaurants and drink stations sold turkey drumstick, steak on a stake, sausage on a stick, sausage knave sandwich, smoked bratwurst, scotch egg, pretzel, soup in bread bowl, kettle corn, fruit cobbler a la mode, roasted nuts, root-beer float, beer, etcetera. I bought several of these, and I thought that the flavors were OK to very good.

What's more quintessential summer bucket list than a drive-in movie!!!!…read more Evergreen Drive-In has been doing drive-ins for way longer than I've been alive and they know how to make the experience perfect! With three movie screens and lots, you always have options to pick from when coming to a movie. We were prepared for large crowds as we went for Toy Story 5's opening weekend. You can arrive earlier than the listed box office time. We showed up at 6:30 and drove right in! Come early, grab a spot, and enjoy the summer! We came hungry so we stopped by the Concession Stand. They do request that you don't bring your own food... and you won't be disappointed with the options. We, of course, grabbed the commemorative large popcorn bucket.. it was the perfect amount for 4 adults! I also snagged a Pepperoni Roll, large coke, and a box of Bunch-a-Crunch! The prices are reasonable and help to keep this community icon up and running for years to come. As you enter, they give you a list of rules and a small bag for any trash. Both of these keep the place clean and avoid any issues throughout the night. I cannot wait to come back for more movies all summer long!!

There are very few remaining drive-in theaters so I suggest supporting them rather than putting them down because you have a chip on your shoulder. It is ABSOLUTELY nostalgic because it is "old school". To the person that griped about the SUV parked in the front row- the photo that you provided shows absolutely ZERO evidence of it restricting the view of the screen from where the photo was taken, KAREN! I go once or twice a year. I do not go to traditional theaters because i have a projector of my own and can purchase a new movie to view in the comfort of my own home. I go there for the experience. Take your happy a** to the Waterfront and pray to the lord that u aren't harmed in any way. I can only IMAGINE the kind of chaos that you created which blighted the experience for others nearby. To make things worse, the Golf Cart Gestapo decided my little Ford EcoSport was a full blown SUV, not the car the State calls it when I register it or the insurance company insured it as, or the dealership sold it to me as, and we were ORDERED to park in the BACK ROW with the oversized and full sized TRUCKS! The place wasn't even close to being full except for the big trucks in the last row that could all see over the broken down shed in the middle of the lot, which we needed to move twice to see over. I'll give it to the owner for giving my $20 admission fee back despite the Gestapo input. The $40 I lost on that disgusting crap they called food couldn't be recouped, but I can report them to the health department for what that concession stand was serving and how they were putting it together! To think, I was a huge supporter when this place was begging for help to stay open. So much for nostalgia. Especially when the price for a seat at the luxury cinema costs the same as here, (a perk of being a Senior Citizen), and you don't get accosted for sitting where you can SEE the movie, even if it's only one and not a double feature. I won't say don't waste your time, because I still love the drive in movie experience, I just won't be having that experience at Brownsville Drive In ever again. The sightlines and acoustics are great, even from the cheap seats. My cousin and I went here to see a musical legend, John Fogerty in concert. John Fogerty has long been on my "must see" list, having last played the Pittsburgh area in 2005. He has achieved what few other Baby Boomer musicians have failed to do. He has remained relevant and vibrant even late in his career. The mid-1980s success of "Centerfield" not withstanding, Fogerty (unlike, say, the Beach Boys) remains interested in creating new music and puts a grade-A effort into his shows. His voice is still quite powerful. His recent album, "Wrote A Song For Everyone" debuted at #3 on the Billboard Album Charts. Though this album consists of covers of his solo and CCR hits featuring he and, for example, Foo Fighters, one only need to look at his previous album "Premonition" to see that the man is still capable of doing great material And yes he did do a lot of his CCR and solo material. Incidentally, the song "Wrote a Song For Everyone" was a big hit for Mavis Staples and Jeff Tweedy. All in all though, it was a great concert at a terrific venue.

The location is in Monongahela, PA (Washington County), 45-minute drive from Pittsburgh. The sunflowers are absolutely gorgeous and it's so easy to get lost in them. Now...they are RUDE…read more I remember coming here the first week they opened, just too support a local business, and the owners were SO polite. They gave us a discount and had small talk with us. Seemed like they genuinely liked to serve the community. But fast forward a few years and now they are either overwhelmed or let the business get too their heads. I watched the owner get very nasty with a lady who was looking for pumpkins for kids at her church. If you don't want to give someone a discount, simply just decline and leave it at that.
