Absolutely recommend this! Such a great experience. The price is definitely worth it. Admission price gets you on the grounds and one trip through Demon House and allows you access to the fire pit and old outdoor scary movies. There's food and merch opportunities for additional cost but all the experiences are included with the entry price. Owners are awesome and have gone above and beyond to provide an atmosphere of spookiness. Highly recommended. read more

I was a little "scared" you could say to visit a haunted house in Covid times. I left pleasantly surprised at the entire process, but could see some potential pit-falls. Here are my tips: 1. Arrive as soon as they open. We were there at 6:50pm and didn't get on the bus until about 7:30, so beware of the wait and get there early. If you don't, I wouldn't be surprised if the wait went up to several hours long. 2. The bus driver was the only crank in the bunch, I would say. I asked how his day was going and he responded with "If we didn't have to deal with these stupid CDC restrictions...." So there's that. 3. If you're there at the crack of 7pm you probably don't have to spring for VIP. We didn't, and though there was a bit of a wait, it was no huge deal. 4. The house itself is GREAT! Way fancier than I expected and the staff should be commended for putting on a great show. read more

Went here for the Christmas haunted house for the first time. It was incredible. Especially the first actor in the house and the last of the night, the impact they had on the entire experience cannot be overstated. I always recommend this haunted house to any one who asks for a suggestion in the Pittsburgh area. I will now say that the Christmas haunted house may even be better than the Halloween version. If you have the opportunity to go any time, I suggest you should, but if you can go for the Christmas haunted house, you shouldn't hesitate. read more

My husband and I are haunt junkies and this place did not disappoint! At first, it seemed like it would be far, but it's really just a quick cruise down 70. We really loved their streamlined way of organizing entry and that you could enjoy the bonfire while you were waiting for your turn. The actual haunt itself was very artistically done with excellent make up, details in every room, and nice staff. They have a movie playing on a projector outside and a snack stand as well. I will say, the only downside to me is that one of the actors did accidentally touch one of the other girls that was put into the group with my husband and I - which sent her into a full blown panic attack, but we truly truly enjoyed this place and considered it to be a lot better than Hundred Acres Manor and Scarehouse. read more

I was worried how haunted houses would look this year during COVID, but this place was fantastic. Everyone had masks, they found a way to incorporate masks into the actors costumes seamlessly, you could hardly tell they were wearing them most of the time. Groups are numbered so you go through in a socially distanced manner, you may end up waiting a bit longer to enter but with fire pits, scary movies playing on the projector, gifts and snacks, there's plenty to keep you occupied while you wait. Looking on groupon for a haunted house to go to on a Friday night & we stumbled upon Demon House. Since neither of us had ever remembered being there (I thinkkk I might have like 8 years ago, but I cannot remember that lol), we decided to check it out. $39 for two VIP tickets & 2 $5 vouchers to use towards food or t-shirts! Pretty cool. You drive to a lot & wait for the van to drive you to Demon House. It was cold out & the van was nice & warm, which was awesome. When you arrive, you are assigned a group # & you can just hang out until your group # is called. MUCH better than just waiting in a line. While you wait for your group to be called, you can sit by their fire pits (they have two), play a game, check out their t-shirts or take pictures with their props (what Lizzie & I did, haha). We waited less than 10 minutes for our group to be called. They take 6 people in a group at a time. The house was awesome- it was indoors & outdoors, which I really liked. My favorite thing about the house is that in multiple rooms there isn't an exit- meaning, you have to wait for the staff to introduce you to the next part of the house & open the next door. It slowed us down, which is nice, because a lot of the times when you visit haunted houses, they seem so quick because you're just racing through it (at least in my experience). I don't want to give away any scenes from this place, but I will say that the coolest scene was the dining room scene with the sheets- it genuinely creeped me out. After going through the house, we used our vouchers for hot apple cider & hot chocolate & watched some of "Nightmare on Elm Street" on their big screen. I love that this place is a lot more than just a haunted house. The fact that you can just hang out by the fire & have a warm drink, is really awesome. It was very disappointing that it wasn't even scary the staff was extremely rude. They made you park off the attraction and had to take a bus to the haunted house. They Don't tell you about the flashing lights.. prices are insane 20.00 to get in. Don't recommend this at all. It wasn't a good experience. Honestly, I had expected Demon House to come in at about a 3.5 maybe a 4 stars at best. I mean it's one medium sized house. How much haunted housing can happen in one house?? 15 minutes? Upstairs, first floor, maybe a basement or an attic? I had no idea just how wrong I would be. Little did I know this place has not only a LEGEND but it's considered an attraction. Snacks and hot cider (although without rum, sadly...), an outdoor movie theater showing awesome horror movies, horror movie scores playing all over the outside waiting area, and multiple camp fires. I mean, COME ON. Camp fires? I smell like camp fire. WIN. +: The lines were not long at all. They have you park in an adjacent lot and use a shuttle bus to bring people too and from the actual home. (At first I was somewhat put off by this, but I get it now. From the time you get off the shuttle and start walking towards the house you're IN the experience. ) The entire grounds are decorated. The groups are small enough that you don't have anything taken away from the experience. We only had 4 in our group! The price is exactly on par with other area haunted attractions. There were honestly parts where I felt more than a little scared. Complete. Total. Darkness. Sharply sloped inclines throughout. -: A bit of a drive for people who aren't used to a travel for a haunted house. I left there feeling it was a complete 5 stars. While more than a short drive outside the city, the more desolate dark location does add to the boo-factor. That, folks, is all I'm willing to give away. A different kind of haunted experience. Shuttle from a designated lot to the haunt is a nice touch. It's like the bus ride to your demise. Outdoor movie screen is also a unique feature. Waiting for your number to be called, while watching the movie or sitting by one of the fire pits is way better than standing in a long line. A short wait seems even shorter considering the amenities in the waiting area, including a refreshment stand, gift shop and photo opportunities. They could probably utilize the outside haunting space a little better, but overall, a fun experience at a very fair price. read more

Absolutely THE BEST Halloween haunt around! Every year just gets better and better!!

An inescapable [real] nightmare. Even though it had to end eventually, I thought I was in my own personal, eternal hell which induced a minor asthma attack. I don't even think a review can do this place justice but I am going to try. I will not give away any descriptions of the rooms because I want you to be totally unaware and unprepared. I was told this place was scary but let's be real: how scary are haunted houses? Yeah you get startled then you laugh at yourself and after 15 minutes you're out and heading back to the car. Demon House is a house filled with actual (not really) relentless demons who want to scare you to death. The fi and I were the last group to be called on Sunday night so it was just the two of us going through. Even before getting to the house one must be strong enough to make it through the front yard. Oh you think I'm kidding? Halfway through the front yard, I found myself standing with my hands covering my ears with my eyes tightly shut refusing to move any further because I was so terrified. The Demon House itself is SO scary that at the end of our tour as we were standing outside, the fi placed his hand on my shoulder and felt that my sweatshirt was disgustingly damp because I was sweating so much (a bodily reaction, not response, to the terror I experienced in there). The ghosts, ghouls, demons, corpses inside the house should all be given Oscars. Not a single person was out of character for even a second and went above and beyond to scare you. I felt honored that we got a chance to mingle with them at the end (the house closed after us for the night) and if any of you guys are reading this - Bravo. Phenomenal. Would I go back? First time Demon House visitor. Loved it! Usually just enjoy the art and creativity and fun of Haunted Houses. Demon House was ALL of the above PLUS really thrilling. My favorite Haunt yet!; Acting and make up was great. The place was clean, organized and well put together. Loved that it had well lit parking, warm bus, and that they took you on small groups. My husband and I had were in our own group. It felt almost personalized because the actors focused solely on you. Loved it!! Definitely worth wait and inexpensive! Great job New Director!! read more

We were impressed by this place. The actors were into their roles and the environments were detailed. The ticket process is EXACTLY how it should be done. We were assigned a group number and paid and got to enjoy the bonfires, outdoor movie theater and other attractions while we waited. Not standing in line is a great business strategy! Demon house is a lot of fun, not an in and out haunted house, you do spend some time here. This spot is really popular and it does take some time to get in, but they provide food, entertainment and campfires while you wait. A little costly for the whole family, but worth it once a year. Not recommended for small children who are prone to nightmares, I would take the kids if they are 8 or older (just my opinion) read more

One of my favorites! When you first get there you take a bloody, decorated shuttle and you ride to the actual attraction. After that, you go to the ticket booth, and get your group number. You pay and walk up to the waiting area. The waiting area is great! It has movies, concessions, games, fires, and t-shirts, so that while you wait for them to call your number, you don't have to wait in a line! When they do call your number, you walk through a door that leads you to the front yard of the house. Then you go through some scaryness outside and it all leads you to the actual house. More scaryness. But honestly, this is one of the best haunted houses I've been to in the 2015 season and I would go again. read more

This was my first haunted house of the 2013 season and I was definitely impressed! First things first, their "waiting" area is awesome and much better than other haunted houses around the city. Most places you have to stand in a boring long line, but at Demon House you get a number when you walk in. When you hear your number over the speaker, it's your turn to go in. While you wait they have some characters walking around to scare you, fire pits, refreshments and also a movie screen playing scary movies. On the scare factor, I would probably rate the haunted house a 6.5/7 out of ten. The scenery is awesome and it took us roughly 25-30 minutes to get through. There are several parts as well so it's not just one haunted house. There are also different themes as well, not just the typical haunted house ghost kind of stuff. My only complaint is I wish there would have been more actors inside, but it was the first day of the season so I'll give the benefit of the doubt. All in all, it was for sure worth the money and I'm glad we started out our season with something other than a dud! read more

So the website plays off of the history of the mansion but when you get there it's your standard clowns, chainsaws, medical scene, etc. If they could incorporate the history and really dive into the paranormal aspect (which not many places do but it's a sure way to creep people out) they could have a great thing going, especially because of the location. I went in for the history behind the mansion and to see how they spin the story, but in the end it was like every other haunted house. They did have things to do after or while you wait but even that was eh. read more

This is, by far, my favorite haunted attraction in the Pittsburgh/Philadelphia area!!! After you find the parking area, you are met with a white, bloody handed Halloween bus (Next stop! Demon House residence!). You aboard the decorated bus and take about a half mile ride to the haunted site. As you step down onto the pathway, you will find ghoulish scenes and creepy flickering lights lighting up the pathway. As you approach the ticket booth, you will find every inch of scenery painted with a spark of Halloween and spooky effects. The portable bathrooms are behind a wooden enclosure lined with skeletons. There is a really cool t-shirt booth (Beanies, hats, sweatshirts, t-shirts- $15) with white stencil images that they press onto black t-shirts. I purchased a t-shirt with a Jason mask and a t-shirt with Night of the Living Dead image. With the $39 Groupon I purchased my friend and I got in with VIP access and got $5 vouchers that we could use on concession items and the merchandise stand. There is an outdoor theater that plays horror films in which you can sip on your hot cider or coffee and watch the spooky classics. There are also a couple picnic tables you can sit down, talk and eat at. There is a skeleton water fountain, which is fun to sit on and take pictures by. There are also bonfires you can sit by and warm up with! I think it is wonderful that they have a speaker system in which your group number is verbally called out, so no line waiting for you! Woo hoo! It does not get much better than that! There is haunted pathway/outdoor haunted attraction that you will partake in before you enter the actual Demon House, which feels like two haunted attractions in one! Take my word when I say, go now! I used the groupon pass to visit the haunted house and I felt it was well worth the visit. The atmosphere is very chill and much better then waiting for any line somewhere else. The haunted house experience itself was very good. The acting was very notable - they seemed almost like professional actors. Some of the actors were not always intending on scaring but rather kind of freaking out psychologically which is an element I have not experienced as much at other haunted houses. There were several occasions that after I thought the scare was over for a certain part, and kept looking around thinking no one was coming, they timed it just right to catch me off guard. Not many succeed in this because often it is predictable. I really liked the entrance before seeing the clowns where the circus guy had you try throwing the ball in the hole (he was cute too which was a plus :-) ). The best part about it was I didn't feel rushed like some other places but rather each room and scene was it's own experience. At other places like scarehouse, another group catches up or you catch up to them which leads to seeing or hearing what is up next which degrades the entire experience. In this case, we felt it was a personal experience the entire time. I'm not certain though if this was because there were not too many people there. The reason I am removing a star is because I was very much put off by poor management. With the groupon it included two $5 vouchers for concessions which equated to them giving a bunch of tickets at the start. After the event, we got some nachos and a soda, and they gave back 3 tickets with writing down how much credit was left on the 3rd ticket. After relaxing and having nachos and a drink, we went back to use the rest of the tickets before leaving. The sign said candy bars - "limit 2 per person". OK great, we are 2 people, we will get 3 candy bars. The person at the desk said "sorry candy bards are limited to two tickets per person". I thought explaining 1) we are two people and the sign says "limit 2 per person" 2) we were just up there with a bunch of tickets when she served us and could have gotten them under the changed "2 ticket per person" rule and 3) we are only asking for 3 candy bars, this isn't unreasonable. She said she would have to check with her manager. The manager came over and seemed a bit annoyed to be called in about candy bars. I explained my 3 points thinking he would do the right thing - after all, there was a pile of candy bars and not that many customers. To my surprise he said no. He explained last weekend there were too many people getting $10 worth of candy bars and therefore they needed to put a limit this time. I get that, makes sense, 2 per person seems reasonable, but yet you aren't going to sell us the 3 when 5 minutes ago we could have gotten them had we given all of our tickets at once??? Wow, ok. I will take the bag of chips then and you can keep the 50 cents... geez. Ultimately what was to be a great 5 star experience all around lead to leaving with a bad taste in my mouth (and not from the candy) because of poor management. The web page said "under new management" and I don't often write a review about poor management experiences but this was one of them. Basic supply and demand - stock up with candy bars if they are a hot item and if you write on your sign a limitation per person, don't change it to your own rules for happy customers who are not abusing the system. read more

The Demon House does a lot of things right. First is the numbering system. You don't wait in a long line like other haunted attractions. Instead, when you purchase your tickets, they assign your group a number that they call over a loud speaker. In the meantime, you are free to walk around in the waiting area where there are two fire pits, a concession stand, merch stand, a movie theater and an area for photo ops. Other haunted houses could really learn from this concept because it makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable than spending half the night waiting in a line. Another great feature is that they let you in in small groups so there is enough time for the actors to get back into position where they can really startle you. The actors were really good-- you could tell everyone was enjoying themselves--and the rooms were really well done. We found the overall haunted house to be a little short, and it wasn't all that scary. However, it was fun enough to be worth the 45-minute drive to get there. Also, there always seems to be a Groupon available. We paid on $23 for two tickets and two drink vouchers. read more
