This was my first time flying with Southwest & most likely my last time booking tickets with them…read more I travel pretty often with a little one & have been since he was a newborn. Southwest does not accommodate young travelers/families like other airlines. While they do offer boarding, it's after groups A & B. I'm also used to leaving a car seat at the gate for pickup as soon as we get off. As soon as we entered the plane, I asked the flight attendant if I was fine to leave my car seat there & they agreed. Southwest also has an open seating plan, meaning you don't have an assigned seat, you just pick one once you get in the plane. After we found seats & stowed out bag, they called out on the speaker of whose car seat was at the gate. I raised my hand & they were like why wasn't it checked. I said I confirmed several times it was good to go. I didn't appreciate being belittled by the lady (not sure of her name but she is at the desk in the picture. Had Southwest made their rules & policies about car seats clear, I would have properly followed them. This flight felt chaotic from the time we lined up to board until the plane took off. While I can appreciate the reasonably priced flights during the holiday time, the customer service & family friendly flights are just not what Southwest is about.

Nevertheless, this was my husband and I first time using Spirit and I loved it. The only hiccup, for my husband, the seats did not have enough cushion. Luckily, we traveled from Norfolk to Orlando and then the next day Orlando to Jamaica. Therefore, our flight times were not long at all, but that was his only complaint. Oh no snacks - no free snacks. Just bring your own and you'll be fine! Myself, I have a lot of internal cushion, therefore, the seats were fine for me, but I get his point. Now they offer different seating with extra comfy seats and extra cost. But flying Spirit the goal is to save where you can. Overall, if I have the opportunity to fly with Spirit again, I will. I am a fan of direct flights! And Spirit delivered! The flight attendants were friendly too! I hope Spirit doesn't go!! Have fun and enjoy life :)

The Delta staff at Norfolk International Airport went above and beyond during an unexpected delay…read more Our flight from New Orleans to JFK had to make a detour and land in Virginia due to ice and snow on the ground, and the aircraft wasn't equipped for such a long delay. The team in Norfolk stepped in immediately, bringing pizza pies and cases of water for everyone on board and making sure passengers were taken care of. The terminals are clearly defined once inside. Where you go to check in is easy and stress free. There are food options both within the terminals past security check as well as before hand. It's fairly stress free where there was no terminal that is specifically overcrowded. While an international airport, Norfolk does have a regional feel that is not as full throttle. It certainly feels easier to navigate and not as cramped as say Asheville that is a regional airport. Overall, it was solid.

Yes, there are delays or cancellations at times, but that happens with all airlines. Pick one and stick with it and gain status, but flying rarely and a utilizing a different airline each time and then whining about your negative experiences has gotten old... Read the majority of reviews about all airlines and it's the same story. Gaining status helps, but even if you fly only occasionally, expect issues and arrive early. Don't buy close connecting flights. Be prepared for the unexpected.

Our room was nice, clean, and comfortable. The location is great and allowed us to explore Norfolk the day before our cruise. The staff members were friendly and the shuttle bus drivers were great. They drop you off right across the street from the port. I could not have even imagined a better experience! The night we stayed there was a smoke alarm beeping right outside our door in the hallway because the battery was dead. I called the front desk to let them know and they immediately sent someone with a ladder and a new battery! I'm beyond impressed with that service! Thank YOU!

This is my first time I booked a flight with United Airlines, and this was almost my last at the same time! Why you ask? Because: My wife and I arrived at the airport at least an hour and a half before our flight boards! We were standing in the checkout line at least an hour just to check our one suitcase in. It came to a point where they said it was too late to check in luggage, what? We were there for at least an hour in line, how can you say that? It's not our fault there was a delay in check in on their behalf... After more than an hour passed and one of the attendants ask who was traveling to Newark, about 10 or maybe more people shouted out! At this point my wife already headed towards the gate to advise them of the delay at check in! So they were able to radio each other about the people including myself that was waiting to check in with luggage!. Finally I get my luggage checked in and I sprint to TSA! ( Luckily I have TSA pre check so I was able to zip through and then sprint again to my boarding gate!. Let me say this is the first time that I have almost missed a flight and I have been flying as long as I can remember! Will I fly again with United Airlines you ask? Sure,but I hope this never happens to me or any other airline passenger ever again!!!...

We were originally supposed to leave at 5:35 PM and ended up leaving well past 9 PM. The problem I had with this isn't that the flight was delayed because of storms (I understand it's a safety concern), but the way United dealt with communication. We received little to no communication or updates, which was beyond frustrating. As compensation, they provided a $15 dollar meal voucher to "make up" for the delay, only can be used on United flights. I will be avoiding this airline from now on.
