All Year Moss Control, Rich Herbolt, was hired to remove moss from a Client's roof. He recommended pressure washing. But the pressure washing was so intense that large pieces of shingles were blown away and an otherwise solid roof was completely destroyed. When a third party roofer confirmed the damage, All Year Moss Control refused to take responsibility. Rich Herbolt advertises that his company is licensed and bonded. But he is hugely under-insured. Rich has cleaned my roof, skylights, and gutters every year for over a decade. I've found him to be reasonable in pricing, thorough in work, and timely in scheduling. He's scrupulously honest. I've dinged him one star because he pushes his Christian belief-system just a little - and even a little is a little too much for me. read more

We have been using All Year Moss Control for 18 years and Rich is one of the most honest and hardworking individuals we've ever hired. When Rich injured himself and was unable to work we hired someone else to clean our roof, they never showed up. Rich is reliable and neat. I make the call, he comes out (I don't need to be home)he leaves a bill at the door and our roof is clean and the area surrounding the house is spotless. He is very knowledgeable. We had an old cedar shake roof that was disintegrating he is the only one we trusted to clean it, we wanted him to pressure wash it but he knew that would not be the best option and he used gentle methods of cleaning it perfectly. When we finally replaced it with a composite roof he knew how to care for that as well. read more

Hiring this company was a $7,000 mistake. That is the amount I had to take off my home sale to pay for a new roof, due to power washing and degranulation of the shingles. I hired Richard in March of 2019 to remove the moss from the roof in prep for putting my house on the market. Other, more expensive companies I initially got bids from warned against power/pressure washing. When I spoke to him, Richard told me "I've been in business 30 years and I assure you power washing will be fine". What a MISTAKE I made believing him. In June, the home inspector found the roof "appears to have been cleaned more recently, possibly with a pressure washer. This has damaged the roof by eliminating approximately 75% of the granular surface exposing the fiberglass ply at the surface to the weather and the sun. This will allow this roof to deteriorate in a more accelerated manner than would have been the case with having cleaned this roof in a more benign manner." I was forced to negotiate a $7k credit off my home's asking price to pay for a new roof. When I called Richard back he basically said it was my inspector's word against his. I sent him the inspection report and photos. He apologized, but did not acknowledge accountability. I would advise any home owners to make 100% certain that they do not let this company on their roof with a pressure washer. Or, do like I should've and hire a different company who knows what damage can be caused by using the wrong method of moss removal and is ethical enough to not destroy their clients' property. read more

Rich is definitely fast & fair. Call backs for estimates are not a forte, but he is very reasonable. Be sure to tell Dena or answering service that you want to chat with them BEFORE he comes out. We have a large roof, over 25' x 50' & if done every other year, it has been about $90 including checking & cleaning out gutters. You cannot beat the price or the service. He has also de-mossed our front steps. Totally worth the price. read more

I've used Rich at AYMC for years, but missed scheduling the service last year and have regretted it. I'm noticing the need for his services. Luckily, the man who mows my lawn noticed it first and was kind enough to somewhat clean the gutters, but I need the full services Rich provides. He is fast and thorough, and his prices are reasonable. (I really suggest the zinc strips, also reasonably priced, and they really do cut down on the moss. I'm leaving this review now because I don't think I've ever reviewed him, and I was already on Yelp when I thought to search for him online. Fast, thorough, with excellent pricing. read more

We called AYMC and left a message asking for quotes. We didn't get any callback on scheduling a visit (then again, maybe one doesn't necessarily need to be home in order to have someone look over one's home exterior). We just happened to be home when Rich stopped by several days after our call to inspect our roofs and gutters. He was honest and didn't try to sell us more than we needed. We felt comfortable talking with him. Although both our roof and gutters needed cleaning, Rich left it up to us to decide what we wanted done, breaking down "a la carte" the costs for each. We decided to do just the gutters (which he did right then and there) and wait on a later date for the roof. We didn't have any money on hand and Rich didn't take credit cards, but he left us an invoice/envelope to send him a check for payment later. A good experience overall. read more

I prefer to give negative stars. I called this company to get an estimate. I never talked to anyone. I was expecting a call back with an estimate. Apparently they did an internet search on my name to get my address. Then they came out when I was not home and sprayed my roof. Fortunately I got home just as he was pulling in his hose. And then he has the audacity to bill me! I truly never gave him my address!!! I actually contracted with a different moss control company who uses granules, instead of spray. This company entered my property illegally and sprayed my roof with a product I did not want or ask for or even imply to them that I wanted it -- since I never even talked to them or gave them my address. Needless to say, I feel very violated by them. read more

I called on Saturday, he arrived on Monday. He called and gave me a reasonable quote, I agreed, and he did the work right then. It was a fairly simple moss treatment/gutter cleaning job, but everything looked good. I will definitely do business with them again. read more
