If I could give zero stars, I would. Steve is extremely rude and tells the customer they are wrong…read morein every instance. When fixing an outlet in my home, Steve blamed the brand new dryer as being the issue and told me I'm not an electrician so I wouldn't know if the dryer is defective. The dryer was working perfectly fine until he "worked" on the loose dryer outlet. When he was told the power went out in the room when the iron was plugged in, Steve said you shouldn't iron in the bedroom anyway as it pulls too much electricity. What??? Apparently, there is more going on with the electricity in the home. Now other plugs are not working in the bedroom. What did this guy do to the house, oh but I guess that's the dryers fault too. DO NOT use this company, you will regret it. I will be contacting the Contractors State License Board.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but what happened after Independent Electric installed an EV charger at…read moremy house could've been dangerous. I contracted Independent Electric to install a home EV charger back in July 202. I had no issues for 15 months -- I even referred them to family after. In late October 2022, my wall charger suddenly stopped working. Inside the junction box, a wire had overheated and melted its surroundings (see the pics below). I called the electrician from Independent Electric who told me he wasn't sure what the issue could've been but offered to repair it (not for free -- I was outside the 1yr warranty). After I told him I wanted to get a second opinion and have another pro check his work, he texted me that they were suddenly booked out for 3 weeks and recommended I get someone else to work on it. Not exactly white glove customer treatment. I ended up going with Bonney -- the new electrician said that while Independent Electric's work was spec'd correctly and what happened was likely a fluke, he did say that: - My breaker connected to the EV charging never tripped when it should have - The wire that had melted was not particularly durable (the new electrician used a more durable wire) The job that Bonney did looks far more professional and reassuring. This is a classic "you get what you pay for" -- you might save a couple of hundred dollars with Independent Electric, but you're not getting the best job done. Up to you if you want to risk that with high-voltage electricity.

His response came in the quickest and with the most reasonable quote compared to the others. We quickly set up a time for him to come in the following day and he came in exactly when promised. He took great care when working and paid attention to the tiniest details. Me, being the nerd that I am, watched him intently and I commend him for taking the time to explain everything he was doing for a curious mind like me. It also gave me peace of mind that I was hiring someone that really understood what he was doing. He worked cleanly around my house and made sure to clean up any dust that came from working in the dry wall. Jaime is the type to "measure twice, and cut once" so you can rest assure that he will do the job efficiently and to your exact specifications. He is also a great guy to converse with about business, real estate, and life in general. I definitely learned a lot from him while he was working. If you're looking for an electrician to do any job around the house, Jaime is definitely your guy. I will definitely be using him again if I have a job comes up and can recommend him to anyone.

Jason was referred to me by someone (I can not remember who). My furnace blower needed to be replaced and Jason quoted me a price over the phone that I thought was reasonable. When he came to our house, he said that he found out that my make of system required him to only install factory parts so it would be $300 more. Fine, I accepted that and agreed to the additional price. A short time after he had completed the job I noticed that the system did not seem to work well. Since I am not a technician I can not really explain it except to say that it did not appear to be very efficient in terms of providing cooling or heating. Some months later, I happened to go up in the attic and noticed that there was a piece sitting on top of the unit and I could see what looked like some dangling wires. This was just at the start of the Pandemic and since the unit was working it quickly left my mind and I chalked it up to just being sloppy. Yesterday, my wife and I noticed that the system had not come on in a couple of days. Nothing! The system would not kick in. The fan would not even turn on so I called an HVAC guy I trust. Almost immediately after he got up there he said that who ever worked on our system last, really did a messed up job on it. For starters, the piece that was sitting on top was the cover for a high voltage unit and should have covered said unit. Without the cover, any time sparks could have happened they had the potential to set the attic on fire. Next there was a missing bolt that was supposed to be holding down a wire and because this wire was loose it fried something else or it got fried. I do not remember exactly what the technician I had out said but that is what caused the unit to essentially get NO POWER. Also, one of the hoses was damaged during the previous repair that allowed the system to pull the super hot air from the attic instead of taking it from the house to recirculate it through the system. This made the system have to work so much harder. Just thinking that our home was not safe due to the potential spark that could have set the attic on fire has really shook me up. Not to mention the extra I paid in the last 2.5 years as a result of the injured hose just really makes me shake my head. Needless to say, I do not recommend this company...

The heat rejector unit outside the building stopped working and he diagnosed it immediately, after asking just one question: "Can you turn the AC breaker off?" Added bonus: he's a great guy! Gave me an older fin comb after I mentioned I was considering straightening out all the damaged fins on the heat rejector. Even showed me the best way to work them back to straightness, and best practice for getting the top and sides off (and more importantly back on) so I don't screw it up. Thanks, Chris!
