After a a few weeks I gave in and searched for an exterinator. The reviews about Joe prompted me to get in touch. The reviews describe him perfectly ! He came the next day. We spent almost 2 hours going around the house inspecting for evidence of entry points, nests, activity as well as getting to know each other. He is truly a nice guy who knows his craft ! Joe seemed impressed by my approach. Thought, based on what he saw, that there might only be the one and didn't see any obvious additional enrty points. He suggested a few new baits and traps and we decided to stay in touch before moving to poison. He refused payment for his time and advice. He promptly replied to my status texts over the next few days. Nobody caught, no success... until I got him ! Sent Joe pictures. Recieved a congratulations reply ! Now going to keep monitoring for a few weeks, traps set. Maybe my problem is solved. Fingers crossed my visitor didn't have friends and family. They explicitly promised to install a one-way exclusion door at a roof entry point to prevent raccoons from re-entering my attic. That work was never completed. Instead, they placed two traps on the roof, caught one raccoon, returned once to collect the second trap, and then stopped altogether. As a result, there are still at least two raccoons living in my ceiling, and the underlying issue remains unresolved. I was originally quoted over $2,000 due to the supposed complexity of installing the exclusion door, all of which had to paid in advance of any work being done. I was later given a "discount" of $962.96 but only after complaining about the job not getting done, bringing the total to $1,062.92. For that price, only one raccoon was removed, and the agreed-upon exclusion work was never performed. This does not reflect the service that was promised or paid for. I would strongly recommend getting clear, written confirmation of all work to be completed before hiring this company.

My call was answered right away and the owner and one of his workers came as scheduled on our appointment date. They assessed the outside of my home, basement, and pulled out the stove to find a hole in the wall, left open after a stove installation the year before. They set traps and were knowledgeable about safeguards for my dog (if they set out bait stations, while my dog couldn't access the poison, if she came across a dead mouse and picked it up, she could get secondary poisoning!). For a VERY reasonable price, they returned three times, cleaned out the traps, set new ones, and then closed up areas outside my house that were allowing mice access. Vinny and Joshua were respectful men, experts in their field. While I don't wish to have a rodent problem again, I know that they will be the first people I call to come to home and help out.

Once things calmed down, I called Arrow to take care of my new home on the South Shore. They responded quickly, and set up an appointment for the following week. The inspector and technician were courteous, followed CDC guidelines, and knowledgeable. Office staff was also very willing to take the extra step for a customer. Switching over incurred a small expense, the old baiting system had to be removed and a new one installed. You might then ask, why didn't I just renew with the previous vendor? I'll tell you why...Arrow's people are straight shooters...no bull, no sneaky upcharges, etc. When I lived in my old house, I caught an insect and brought it in to their office. I was expecting they would have to come out for additional treatment, as I was only using them for termite prevention. I was pleasantly surprised when the gentleman in the office told me it was nothing to worry about, and if I wanted to pick up something at the local hardware store, it would accomplish the job.
