I would rate the workmanship highly, there were small flaws but in his defense it was a difficult work area with an air conditioning unit above. Dollar for dollar to what they did, I doubt I could find anyone else that would have done a better job for less money. Would absolutely use again, highly reccomend.

They prepped and painted two rooms, including the baseboards, trim and ceiling. They replaced and painted a set of closet doors and replaced the rickety attic stairs. They also fix the bedroom door where it is now fully functional. The work took two days, but they transformed the two bedrooms. The crew was polite and professional. They worked quickly, quietly and with skill. I could not have asked for better. Mr. Grubb was very responsive to emails and quick to address all our concerns. Thank you for the good work.

This was our first project with Lee and Finest Fix…read more I sent out a quote request via Yelp Projects and Lee got back to me on the same day with their rate of $95/hr + materials. I inquired on how long the job would take based on pictures I sent over, and he replied "an hour max, and it will probably be a couple screws and glue" Communication was OK overall. Lee contacted me on a Monday and asked for the address, email and phone number and asked about my availability for the remainder of the week. I didn't receive a response to my reply, so I had to follow up the next day. We were able to get the job scheduled for the same Friday and his team came to complete the project utilizing a lockbox we provided. I didn't receive any updates during the job, which probably would have helped the surprise of the invoice I later received that was $232.35 when I was expecting something closer to $100 based on our first conversation. Lee did promptly reply and let me know that they thought they would hit a stud but since there was nothing, the job was more complicated as they had to create the support. Overall, still a solid experience and I would still consider using Lee and Finest Fix in the future.

There are 5 star reviews that exist because everything went right. And then there are 5 star…read morereviews because something went wrong, and the company MADE it right. This is the latter of those two scenarios. Home Hero came to install curtains, a TV and a few rods and the first person they sent out wasn't quite able to finish the job due to the fact that we lived in a high rise and the studs were actually made from impenetrable steel (Who knew!). We had a few smaller issues with the work as well. None of it irreparable but we were left dissatisfied enough to let Home Hero know. They IMMEDIATELY reached out to us and asked how they could make it right and went through great effort to do just that. They sent a second person back out and finished the job. I was incredibly impressed with Pete (The owner, I gather) and his team's unquestioning devotion to making sure our work was finished and to our standards. Things go wrong on jobs. It just happens. And that's going to happen with ANYONE who comes into your home in a handyman type capacity. But after working with Home Hero's, it should be appreciated that not every contractor will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with the work, and go back in and correct it if you're not. Thanks again to the two handymen at HH as well as Pete and Lea back at the office.

More like the Home Nightmare. I hired them to re-caulk two showers and repair one kitchen cabinet…read moredrawer. They asked me not to use the showers 48 hours in advance, so I did. On the day of the appointment, I waited around until 5pm, when I called to confirm they were still coming. They didn't answer, but called me back about 30 min later to say that there was a mix-up and that they weren't coming. To their credit, they did come the next day, but the technician was very confused about what to caulk in my showers. We watched a youtube video together, then he caulked the showers. I was very nervous at this point, but trusted him. Of course, after waiting 24 more hours to use the showers (and now almost a week of showering at the gym), I find that the shower leaks!!! I contacted the company and they promised to look at it when the drawer technician comes out. Well, that appointment got rescheduled 2 times. I was getting pretty fed up and asked them to commit to a time. That's when Pete, the manager, tells me via email that they cannot ensure that a shower won't leak after they caulk it. At this point, I had no confidence in this company and asked for a refund for the one shower and to cancel the drawer repair. They refunded me $75 out $200 wished me luck disputing the remainder with my credit card company. A total waste of my time and honestly the worst customer service I've experienced in Philly (and that's saying a lot!).

I loved working with Zack & Javier, who made it easy for us at every step. My family lived in the home during the renovation, and they worked to minimize dust, debris, construction mess and noise during and after demolition. I've never seen a construction site so well kept! They were always prompt, and communicative and helped us know what to expect. They exceeded our expectations with planning, communication, constructive suggestions, and troubleshooting. Homeowners who have engaged in large construction projects are used to hearing that everything costs twice as much and takes twice as long as the builder says it will. Not the case here with Sternwalker Builds (https://www.sternwalkerbuilds.com/). Our work was on budget, and on time. Zack & Javier have years of experience in all aspects of construction and working with people. They are kind, thoughtful, thorough, and prompt. When problems arose, as they inevitably do, they pivoted quickly to find new ideas and solutions. They were happy to make clear suggestions, but also respected our vision and needs for our home. I love the outcome (my kitchen, bathroom, and back of house with custom touches is truly gorgeous and honors the heritage of this Victorian house), but also was not traumatized by living in construction and actually loved the process of working with this team.
