Aaron the owner came out to our home to give us an accurate and competitive bid. We knew within the…read morefirst 5 minutes of meeting him, and not even knowing the price that we would be hiring his company for the job. After meeting so many contractors during our new home renovations, that Aaron was tip of the spear amongst contractors. The quality of the cabinets exceeded my expectations. Real wood. NO particle board, No plastic hinges or hardware. Aaron's son installed the cabinets which took about only 2.5 hours. When completed he went over the install with us. Just beautiful work! Even my neighbors stopped by and were super impressed. Looks like NW Garage Cabinets may have new customers. We plan on having additional cabinets installed in the future. New pictures coming soon.

The common rule is the lowest cost bidder is not the best provider. Our experience with NW Garage…read moreCabinet Company shows rules are meant to be broken. Because they were the lowest cost bidder for our garage cabinet project. And from the prem visit to discuss the project of designing and building cabinets through installation it was a six star worthy experience. Responsive. Knowledgeable. Quality product. Reasonable prices. We feel like we got MORE than we paid for. We heard about this company via word of mouth from friends who used them. So we wanted to pass that favor on via word of mouth through Yelp. My hubby has had an itch to replace some (perfectly fine from my view) metal shelving in our garage with spiffy built in cabinets. I finally gave up on my protests about better places to spend the money. Once the cabinets were installed last week, we have so much more storage in the garage, to say nothing of everything looking better that I wonder what took him so long. NW Garage Cabinet Company responded to my hubby's first phone call quickly and set up an appointment. Within a day or two a delightful guy showed up (on time for the appointment) and spent some time looking at a sketch my husband had done for what he was thinking, suggested improvements to the ideas, did a layout sketch to scale and provided an on the spot quote. A quote detailed enough that we knew what materials were going to be used and how the cabinets would be installed. And a quote that was substantially lower than the other two companies we'd contacted. We'd have thought it all "too good to be true" had it not been for our friend's similar experience with NW Garage Cabinet Company. So we signed on the dotted line and within a month, the cabinets were delivered and installed (again, right on time). The quality of the cabinets is top notch, much better materials than used by the competition that bid higher prices. NW Garage Cabinet Company uses plywood, not the cheaper and less stable particle board, top quality melamine doors, full adjustable shelving and good quality glides on drawers as well as mahogany trim frames. Highly recommended!

I hired Next Step NW in June. It is now mid November and we are nearing completion on what I was…read moretold would be a 3-5 day project. We finally started work in mid October (4 weeks ago). The main problems were lack of communication (once just showed up at my house one morning with an hour's notice but I hadn't seen the text bc I was sleeping), lack of project/sub contractor management, and poor planning. I have a permanent temporary fix on the kitchen sink plumbing because the plumber was called in too late in the project. My cabinet, counter, and backsplash are all off by about 3 inches and I was just told to live with it. We also can barely fit the oven in the space allotted for it. In an effort to try to speed things along, I had paid a couple of subcontractors (chosen by my contractor) directly. I was then told that bc I paid them, he didnt have to manage that part of the project. Additional issues: tile was installed so that a large grout line was noticeable. I brought this to the contractor's attention and he said that once the excess was wiped up it would look good (not the case). It took some convincing to get him to fix it. At no point has the contractor apologized or even acknowledged that things haven't gone as planned. To be fair, a lot of the work looks very nice (minus what is mentioned above) which is why I did 2 stars instead of 1. I do NOT recommend hiring this company for contracting.

First I contracted Home Depot which use a third party to do flooring ..Let's put it this way…read more.. Home Depot third party was very unprofessional and did not do a good job. I contacted Next Step Northwest and communication was GREAT! They finished the job in less then half time then Home Depot Contractors. A plus is Northwest will Do the caulking as well! Where others will not. They did a better job than Home Depot contractors and I will be using them for my other projects in my home. Shayne and his employees are able to do plumbing, painting, kitchen remodels, anything you can think of, they can do! Also they are a great price. They cost the same as homedepot flooring with the install but Home Depot did not include caulking. Also trim looked AWFUL with Home Depot contractors. I Called around and getting estimates Shayne was better in price then other private contractors and local businesses. His team has great customer service, and can do pretty much anything! He takes pride in his work and goes the extra mile to ensure it looks great!!

My wife and I chose Advanced Painting when we were remodeling our kitchen. Danny and his team did…read moreexcellent work and I cannot recommend him enough. We wanted our existing kitchen cabinets painted, and Advanced painting went above and beyond, really knocking it out of the park. For example, they also replaced our old (tired) hinges with modern/internal hinges. The cabinet doors open/close perfectly now where before they would often sit partially open. They also installed new pulls on the doors and drawers (we selected/acquired the hardware). To top it off (literally), they installed crown molding which really made a huge difference. It's like a new kitchen, hardly anyone can believe it's the same stuff, refinished! While they were here, we also had the kitchen walls and window frames painted to match. We'll be having them back to paint the rest of our interior and also exterior after we replace our siding. I can of recommend Advanced Painting (and Danny) enough.

Hi, We had a…read morefantastic experience with Smith Hayes on a major remodeling project of an old 1920s home. The project consisted of constructing a new 800 square foot ADU on the second story, renovating the kitchen and cost about $250K. The project was completed in time and under cost, except for the additions and alterations we requested. Smith was patient -- this was all new for us and we were a bit worried at a few occasions, in hindsight, unnecessarily. Right from the first interaction, Smith was upfront and honest. His workers are highly skilled and respectful of the residence, always making sure to clean up and accommodating. Russell, the finish carpenter, did a great job matching the finish to the 1920s style. Overall, we had a great experience and won't hesitate to hire them for future projects. We recommend them highly! Zak
