Very disappointed with my experience with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing…read more They initially went to the wrong house and apparently pumped the neighbor's septic before finally making it to my property. Once there, they dug multiple holes in my yard trying to locate the septic tank and still couldn't find it. I was then told I had a cast iron septic line with a sagging section going to the tank and was quoted over $30,000 to replace it. The estimate literally included removing "failed cast iron pipe." It's a 1980's home so obviously its ABS not cast iron which you can even see inside the house. For perspective, I've had entire septic systems installed for much less (15k-25k for engineered systems) than what they wanted to charge just for the line. Obviously they thought they could take advantage or me, so I called Drainage Experts for a second opinion. They immediately found the septic tank, confirmed to me the line is actually ABS (not cast iron), and said the massive repair Benjamin Franklin recommended was not necessary. They said at most there may eventually be a much smaller repair (which they quoted at $2,000) but the sag in the line was probably there since the original install. Benjamin Franklin also told me twice they would refund the $175 diagnostic charge, but never did. Then after Amex reversed the charge, they disputed the reversal anyway. Strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving any major work from this company. Definitely keep away those that aren't familiar with septic work and the elderly as they seem to act like they work on bonuses or commission and clearly exaggerate work that needs to be done.

His wiring of the broken timer that he pressured us to accept led to the breaker for the light not working. When we asked for him to come and finish the work, he called us names, insulted us, and refused to complete the work. Now he wants to charge us to come look at it again. Something he did! Seemed like a nice enough guy....boy were we wrong!

Bob Laudette, owner of James Carboni Plumbing and Heating…read morefor over 33 years, was negligent in fulfilling his contract upon the installation of the furnace on December 3, 2019.  "ALL WORK WILL BE PERFORMED IN A NEAT AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND WILL MEET OR EXCEED ALL STATE AND LOCAL CODES."   Obviously he did not inspect the installation of the project on December 3 or he was not up to date on building codes.  The building inspector gave him 3 citations for code violations.The chimney clean out door was cemented ..a potential fire hazard. Contrary to Bob Laudette's explanation, the chimney was serviced prior to installation and given a stamp of approval!  The oil line was not protected properly and would cause a major oil leak if someone tripped over it and dislodged it; the duct work/ bonnet was installed with major gaps heating the basement to over 90 degrees. Besides the citations for code violations, Bob Laudette has ignored issues with the furnace and units: combustion issues with small explosions, malfunctioning humidifier, blower so powerful it rattles doors, oil leaks, filters to keep the blower working properly and to insure quality of inside air malfunctioning, extensive dust, uniform distribution of heat is deplorable with the basement heated at 90 degrees and the upstairs rooms are cold. All this for $7500? Now Bob Laudette wants to come and service the new furnace three months later after he ignored numerous calls in January and in fact cancelled a service call. At that point, I had to call reputable and licensed contractors to check out the furnace but the problems still persist. I contacted other agencies for help.  Consumer Protection who has limited authority suggested I pursue legal representation.  My mother, Amelia Wakely, expected and paid for what she thought was an up to date working oil furnace. Why would anyone keep a lemon; deal with a company who fails to treat a client in a professional manner or not at all; who does substandard work and delivers a defective product and writes they have a great business ethic!  Could Bob Laudette possibly service the furnace in the future if he can't deliver an up to date American Standard working furnace now? My mother wants her money returned, the furnace and so forth removed, and the mess they left cleaned up. Bob Laudette did not install a system free of charge out of the goodness of his heart. Lastly, my mother's health living under these conditions has deteriorated since the furnace was installed December 3,2019 . With the pandemic, the directive now is to shelter in the safety and comfort of your home. The safety of her home is a health hazard. How insensitive Bob Laudette is to suggest this is a frivolous matter! Hopefully our experience will save someone from grief in the future! Photos supplied upon request!

They were very polite and respectful to me as well as my property. The electrician left a card because he noticed the red light on my generator. My electrician showed up the next day to do a service call on it as planned. The next day the guys were here to finish up the job. I highly recommend both Eric Sabo and his electricians which were Pallas Electric. Both companies were great.

DO plan on wearing a face mask during the process. Dust does fly a little and some lands around the sites worked on. (This will surely happen with *any* HVAC vent cleaning.) They do vacuum floors well afterwards and I didn't expect them to dust all of my nearby furniture too; I did that. Tip re any vent cleaning by any company: I decided to handwash all of the vent covers removed. They told me that they would vacuum each one. I did not expect anyone to stand at my sink and handwash the "junk" that could not vacuumed off. Overall, Everclean did a great job for a very reasonable price given the amount of time and effort put in. Definitely be sure to contact this company for an in-person quote (which some companies do not provide).
