We moved this past weekend from a large third story apartment to what they refer to as a "triton" townhome, and thanks to All Mighty Movers, we were loaded and into our new home in less than 6 hours. They have a 26 ft truck and all the equipment to move everything safely and securely. Our crew was Dameco, Pat, and Perry! Huge should out to them. We will request them for our next move. They were the dream team! I was quoted about $700 to move my tiny studio apartment (just me, single veteran, no kids, one small load of belongings) 1.5 hours north to a small 1BR house in Fort Dodge, IA. So here's a picture of my invoice, nearly double what they quoted me!! Not to mention a bunch of my belongings were damaged, and lost and never seen again! Plus I got stuck paying $1400 !!! My family and I were planning a move and looking to hire movers to load heavy furniture into our moving truck. I requested a quote through Yelp, itemizing our move list. Dori responded w a quote of 105/hour (as shown in the attached screenshot). When I called to schedule, it was a whole different story. $105 is not the flat rate. They wanted to charge $50 extra per heavy item (despite the items being listed in the original inquiry), $.05 / mile to get from their office to my house and back, and starting the $105/hr rate when they leave the office (not when they arrive at my house to start work). Then, they keep the hourly rate going until they arrive back at their office from my house. I did not hire them and was disappointed by the lack of transparency in our initial communications. Be warned-their estimates are a bait and switch. This company moved my son from a 2 bedroom apartment in West Des Moines to a ranch home in Ankeny. The only items they needed to move were the furniture and that was disassembled before they arrived. The estimate was for four hours and $750. It took them 7 hours and cost $1350. It is inexplicable that this estimate would be off by so much and that it took them so long. When I called the owner the Monday after the move and explained my dissatisfaction, he said he would talk to the manager and get back to me. I had to call him on Friday after hearing nothing and he gave me a song and dance about there being more things to move than they thought and the truck was far away from the door. It's a 2 bedroom apartment of only furniture-there's simply not enough room for there to be very much to move. In addition, the truck was parked immediately in front of the garage at the apartment and right by the front door at the new house. I feel completely misled and do not trust the professionalism of this company. Clearly they either don't know how to estimate and/or they slow walk the job. While the workers were "moving" once they started, it was not fast and their prep work took an extraordinarily long time to complete before they got going. WOW these guys were fantastic. They had a super positive attitude, asked questions, wrapped stuff carefully and did a great job loading way more stuff into the truck then I thought they could get in there! Had 3 super troopers from All Mighty Movers and they were all great! They do charge 50 bucks extra to move Pianos, which I didn't know going in, but if you have ever moved a piano you would think that was a great deal! The whole thing was a great deal.. Something that would have taken hours got done and a huge 16 foot truck was loaded in an hour! Again can't say enough good things about these guys! We ended up canceling our appointment because we had enough hands to unload our uhaul so I can only comment on the scheduling interactions I had. They picked up the phone first try and were the absolute sweetest and most accommodating especially on such short notice. They quoted the lowest of the places I called too! They called with a reminder just like they said they would. Even when I called same-day to cancel our upcoming service they were so kind and understanding! The question was "do you pack and unpack" The response I got back was "please call, I don't book in text" Well I wasn't booking I was asking a question son that when I get out of this call center I can make a call to a mover that will assist me since I cannot be on the phone. If you are moving, save your back and the work and call All Mighty Movers! I have moved 7 times in 5 Years and wish I would have called them for all of my moves. I always went the traditional route and booked a UHAUL but it is such a pain to rent the truck, load the truck, unload the truck, fill it with gas, it is SO expensive and not worth it! All Mighty Movers rates are the cheapest in town and cost you about the same as a UHAUL and you do none of the work! First I will start with the movers themselves. They were the positive. They did a good job. The negative was the service from the office and the owner himself. We were moving from a rental 3 bedroom townhome in Ankeny to a new hone we purchased in Johnston. We also have a storage unit in Monroe that needed to be moved to the new home as well. My wife filled out all of the info online for what we had. We do have a good amount of items for a 3 bedroom place. We moved to Iowa two years ago with a packed full 26 foot truck. I thought there was a good chance that two loads would be needed. But that was never asked to us. The guys got there on time and went through the inventory of everything. Also went through what they had listed that was at our storage. No issues. They got everything loaded and it was clear that with the way it was packed, the truck would needed to be unloaded at the new house and then to the storage to load that. Extra money out of our pocket but we needed to get it all. On the way to the new home, my wife gets an email that the crew was booked in the afternoon and that the storage would have to be done at another time. I called the office to ask about this because this was ridiculous to me. No sorry was said. She just kept telling me about how it was my wife's fault and that she didn't list things correctly. "On our list, it should have easily fit on the truck." HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Again, we moved all of our items across country on a 26' truck so I know it fits. The the owner called me and it was the same thing. Just kept blaming my wife. The crew went over the inventory and the. The list for the storage which was correct. But somehow it was my wife's fault. And no sorry. They couldn't even get the storage for a few days later. No thank you!! THESE GUYS ARE GREAT! We used AMM on Monday 9/18. They showed up exactly on time and busted a move the entire day. It was not an easy move - lots of furniture, a very old pool table, some exercise equipment and a couple large grills. We requested two stops to drop off some items and they accommodated everything so politely and with kindness. They are busting there butt to make sure that you are moved in as quick as possible. While being time effective they are very thoughtful of your belongings. We moved Aug 1. I like the movers personally and was not going to write this. The more damage we've discovered has convinced me to warn others. This company mishandled and manhandled virtually everything. They scratched up the hardwood floors where we left. They broke shelving and book stands. They scratched almost everything they put their 2 wheelers on. They set furniture on end and when I wasn't there to tell them where to put things, they buried it all in the garage. I used them to move on 2/15/18 and because I had to take the bus to get to my new place, I left them the keys and asked them to lock the door not only did they not lock the door, they failed to listen about removing the headboard and the headboard only. The removed the headboard with the front legs and because the bed has 2 drawers it is heavy on one side because they took the legs off when they carried it up 3 flights of stairs they twisted it causing screws to come loose, where the slates are suppose to meet the sideboard there are numerous gaps. They tried to extort me to remove my review. They also refuse to admit they never told me about the 96 hour policy or a contract that I signed which does not have my full name on it. read more

I called mighty movers to have them pick up a mattress set from a department store and deliver it to my parent's house. The woman on the phone told us they were booked up for about three days out. We ended up being able to find a small window of time that fit in their schedule. She told me the customer does have to pay for travel time. I understand travel time to be from where the truck was last located to the pick up location (department store) to my parent's house. She estimated one hour which made sense because it was literally one item. That would cost $125. They came and put the new mattress in. When they were finished they charged my parents $200 saying that they now have to pay for the time to get back to their office location. That was new information and seemed unfair. The scheduler should either charge a flat delivery rate for their office location or schedule the next job right after SO each customer isn't paying for a return location. This is misleading people and essentially unfairly charging them. Again, they should communicate travel time and give the exact amount from their office location to the pick up when they are providing estimate and scheduling. They should make it clear that the customer will be responsible for paying for their time even AFTER the job is complete and their drive back, (regardless of where they are going). This is where a flat delivery fee would be helpful or providing an exact amount when initially scheduling . Overall, they completed the job but I would not use this company again because it was significantly more than quoted and was misleading about exactly what travel time and the amount is. I called All-Mighty Movers about an add I saw on Craigslist advertising $80/hour for movers. The company I had used previously charged me $120/hour. I called them, and the guy I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. I requested 8:00 am for the day of my move. They mailed me a confirmation letter within a couple days. The day of the move, my phone rang at 5 minutes before 8, and they had arrived already. They actually brought 3 guys along, and asked if I wanted the 3rd guy, which would be $20 more ($100/hour) STILL cheaper than the other company I used! They were all quite friendly, introduced themselves, did a walkthrough, and insulated all corners with moving blankets and also wore rubber gloves to move things. It took them 45 minutes to remove all my furniture, including large heavy dressers and a hideabed sofa out of my second floor apartment, and about the same time to bring into my new third floor apartment. They were very friendly and easy to work with--not to mention FAST and EFFICIENT. I would recommend them to anyone looking to use the help of movers! It saves you lots of time and you and your friends don't break your back moving stuff! Easy to do business with, very pleased. read more

I had All Might Movers move some furniture of mine. When moving my mattress they broke a handle, ripped fabric on the bottom of my mattress, and left a mud or dirt stain on it. This damage is not fixable! They knew about it and did not say anything. When I called to let them know about the damage they got very defensive and acted like they did not damage my mattress. Thrn when I was on the phone with their secretary she said she knew who did it and that is why she sent him to fix it. She told me she was having a seamstress come repair the damage. Said "seamstress" was the mover, who caused the damage, mother. She attempted to sew and "fix" the damages. Yes I said it looked at ok so they left after being over for almost and hour and a half. I was over them being in my home and was very frustrated at the whole situation. I was in contact with the receptionist again and they told me there was nothing they could do. Then asked me what I would like done. I asked for a full refund of the cost of moving. It was a little less then $300. She then told me all she could do was give me a $50 check !?!?!?!? This is a $2,000 mattress that I trusted this company to move and they damaged it. Now they dont even want to give me a refund of my moving costs? The mattress is unfixable as I have called the company who I have warranty of all my furniture through. I would never recommend this moving company to anyone!! If there was a negative rating.. they deserve it. This was my worst experience with movers EVER! The man who owns the company was very rude, inconsiderate, unprofessional and intimidating. I moved from Chicago and hired movers on both ends. They quoted me one price and then charged me more. Added minutes while they were not moving things and when I confronted him about it - he was very rude to me and told me to stop whining like a baby over $20. Peter and his crew moved the many furnishing from our 2600 SQ FT home including over 200 boxes in the most perfect way possible - not one thing damaged. Peter and his crew hit the ground running from the get-go and never stopped. I was concerned with paying a mover by the hour, that the movers wouldn't have a sense of urgency but that absolutely was not the case. We called to schedule a move for our household goods in storage to our new house. They wanted a complete list of all items in our storage unit. They also were not happy that we had a 58 inch plasma TV to be moved. They said they had 3 trucks available for the date we requested. TWO days later we get an email from them to call their office. They cannot do our move on the date we requested. Since we wanted to move on that date we emailed them back that we would find another moving company.
