It was $2500. His excuse was that his family member is sick. I am sorry to hear that, but unfortunately, the family member was ill before you took the job. So if you can't do the job, don't take peoples money. As he never produced any of the site designs, he said he was going to, I offered to actually let him keep half the money because he did make a site visit and do one phone call with Us. The phone call he did with us was awful. The measurements were all wrong, he didn't know how to use the computer, he couldn't use even his own software. Regardless, I gave him one week to return half of our money we had given him since he never gave us any product. He refused and ghosted us. I'm really upset because I liked him a lot. We thought he would do a good job. But you can't take peoples money and then blame you're not doing the work on sick family members. Just don't take the job. Now I I'm in the middle of dealing with reporting him to the contractors board and dealing with Nevada licensing. All of this could have easily resolved if he either did the work he said was going to work to do or refunded us if he was unable to do the work. Either way would've been fine with us. Unfortunately he chose neither.:(

They attempted insurance Fraud by telling State Farm that my carpet upstairs had been replaced and it HAD NOT. I caught the mistake, and they tried to lie and claim that it was an ERROR by the office manager... I had to miss work to meet with their workers on several occasions, only to have them not show up and even call to cancel. On top of that they did horrible work and my floor upstairs feels uneven when walking upstairs. They did not caulk and seal around the toilets, baseboards, or entry points. They left the gas running one day, and I had to turn away one of their workers because I smelled gas. The technician with Southwest Gas confirmed that they did indeed leave the gas running. A HUGE SAFETY RISK!! Elite Bros brushed it off as if it was NOTHING... When I tried to rectify the situation with them, they tried to CONTROL me by scheduling appoints on their own without considering I have a ton of other things I am working on. They need to be shut down because who else are they doing this to?

Be aware of the reviews by HR's family members and friends!…read more A garage to complete living space conversion project became a total nightmare thanks to HR Builder's failures, flaws, delays, arguments, inattentiveness, bait and switch, up-charges, change order to correct their mistakes, to name a few. GC uses bullying tactics, interrupts versus listening, regularly asked me for solutions to resolve construction problems he created, most often due to his lack of attention and poor planning. Significant additional cost to me for re-work, work not completed prior to or after final inspection, code non-compliance, lack of functionality (inability to occupy), HOA non-compliance and lack of warranty follow-up, on and on. Flaws, re-work, or failure were encountered with every system during or since completion of the construction process by HR Builders. Progress payments were made in advance or, at the latest, within a few days of any agreed upon project milestone. Full and final payment for the project upon final inspection was demanded even though the project was not complete and even though I did not receive the final approved inspection report. In fact, I still have not received a final report. Various factors likely contribute to HR Builders' unsatisfactory fulfillment that include project management delegated to an individual with no prior construction or project management experience. Despite earlier assurances that the GC would be on site daily, he showed up mostly when extreme issues were encountered or to request immediate payment upon completion of a milestone. In fact, the GC could ONLY be counted on to show up when demanding progress payments. Many weeks, neither the GC or his project manager showed up, and further, there were many weeks when less than four (4) total weekly man-hours for any oversight or workers were on site to move ahead with the project. Certain weeks when the GC was abroad (multiple vacations), no work was performed at all. Accordingly, the few month project drug on for approximately seven (7) months and would still not be completed except for the labor I've put in myself or hired out to others. Resolving warranty issues now remains a fantasy only. Look elsewhere!!! Additional comments subsequent to Mr. Rosen's posted response - A not-too-careful read of Mr. Rosen's reply reminds us of yet another significant shortcoming, his complete and total lack of accountability for his construction failures, e.g., it's the architect's fault, the subcontractors messed up, and best of all, it's the customer's (my) fault. Rather than replying and working to address the unresolved issues in a professional manner, Mr. Rosen's bullying tactics and blame continue. Buyer beware!
