ROC has since inspected the property and issued a Written Directive requiring correction of multiple pool issues. I also wish I had looked more closely at the reviews before hiring. Some of the positive recommendations on this page are from Ed's wife and son, and another recent recommendation is from a plumbing company affiliated with him. I strongly suggest researching the reviewers and checking the ROC licenses/businesses associated with the contractor before hiring. Based on my experience, I would not hire him again.

When problems were encountered, instead of working through solutions together, their strategy was to stall for as long as possible and to ignore our attempts to keep the project moving forward. Their behavior cost us months of delays which resulted in thousands of dollars lost, needless worry and lasting issues with our home and property. After our move in, and after clear explicit instructions from me on numerous occasions, business owner Katherine illegally and covertly recorded the exterior and interior of our property on multiple occasions, including video recording me inside of my home while I was unaware. Katherine and the rest of the team do not care about legality, your privacy, or the basic respect of their clients. During the build they tried their best to get more money out of us while delivering substandard work. The only way we were able to move into the home after many months past our projected move in date and many weeks spent in extended stays was by going around them to schedule our final inspection with the county, by communicating with our title company & lender, by filing complaints with the BBB and ROC. If you are providing custom architectural plans, please know that the time, money and planning that went into your build documents mean nothing to them, they will do as they please without your intervention. Consent is not a word in their vocabulary. They changed our home and design, damaged our newly installed materials and appliances, illegally dumped their waste on our property & refused to properly clean up, refused to do work explicitly outlined in our contract, and attempted to cut corners at every turn. They're unwilling to learn, improve or accept responsibility. Through my interactions with this team I have come to learn what the term "gaslighting" means. They continued to smile in my face, offering pleasantries and small talk, expecting me to quickly move past their damaging behavior while their actions and words remained persistently harmful. They cleaned up after every days work and kept us up to date on progress. When we made changes along the way, they took it in stride and offered options to best achieve our goals. Our home was built in 1959 and had unique lath and plaster drywall. The materials are no longer available, but in order to retain the original quality of the home, they found a method that was similar enough to look the same and have the same sound when I did the "knock test". They did many extras, like painting the front sidewalk-"it just didn't look right all chipped up" and made a new side gate as well- at no added charge- because it was the right thing to do. They understood what we were trying to do- bring the house back to original quality and remodel it for sale. To give you an idea of what kind of guys thy are, on the weekends, they volunteer at Habitat for Humanity and use their skills to built homes for the disadvantaged in the Valley. Good souls. Jeff navigated us through a maze of options to get our electric upgraded without kicking us into a higher permit level that would have resulted in us having to lower windows for egress- at an estimated $26k. Instead, they offered legal, ethical alternatives that got the goals achieved within our budget. They know the ins and outs of the business and use it to YOUR advantage. True professionals. From the initial telephone contact and subsequent in-person contacts with Julio, owner and founder of the company, and Yvan, the company liaison, I found knowledge, passion, and transparency in the quality of work they promised to provide. Together, we developed a plan to convert a Roman, cast iron bathtub with a shower component in place for over 36 years to a walk-in shower only. While the project was fully designed before work began, the company offered full support for change of any magnitude during the process. The project began at full speed on the following Monday. The foreman, Ismael, and his crew member, Rodrigo (?), started early to transform the existing configuration to one that would look as though the space was always intended to be the elegant shower that was revealed at project's end. Over a period of several days, this two-man crew worked quickly and companionably to prepare the area for tile. Without delay, the next team headed by the tile installer, Ivan, and his crew members, Pedro (1) and Pedro (2), began additional preparation for installing wall and floor tile. I felt very connected when Ivan brought me into the process with questions as to my preferences for directional placement of the large wall tiles and for where cuts would provide the best appearance. Gerardo, project supervisor, offered suggestions/solutions which included an upgrade to the ceiling light fixture, a tiled ramp instead of a step into the shower, and a drain relocation. He arranged for the grout to be fully reworked to accommodate my concerns in two areas. And he directed that paint be applied to the entire bathroom ceiling to best match the new paint in the shower ceiling. All of this was provided with no change to the price and terms of the contract. Julio consistently demonstrated his company's stated commitment to provide high quality products and service to maximize the effect of the bathtub to shower conversion that he helped me define. Yvan very ably provided project status updates, coordinated product delivery, and offered ready availability to address any concerns I might have. Throughout the two plus weeks of construction, all representatives of the company exhibited courtesy to me and each other and respect for my property. Kudos to all.
