This by far the best place to train your dog. I had tried training on my own, Petsmart, and nothing stuck. Then I found AFF and my love for dog training was ignited. Yes you do have to take a "humans only" class. It gives the instructor more information about your dog, goals and aspirations, and what you look to achieve by taking classes at AFF. My aspirations included agility and more reliability because my dog (Australian Shepherd) was almost overwhelming me. Paula (owner) listened and felt like I was being heard for the first time. She didn't push a Gentle Leader or no-pull harness or some other tool on me, she introduced the methods AFF uses. My dog and I have taken a complete 180 of where we were almost a year ago. My knowledge of dog behavior and training has grown, and Captain is a more predictable, reliable dog. I can count on him to be off leash but under control and to listen to me. He's young and his moments, but I'm so happy where he is. If you want a great place to train your dog and gain the knowledge how to be a trainer, go to AFF. They also have behavioral classes like the Reactive Integration, made for nervous, aggressive, and reactive dogs; and sports classes like agility, Nosework, and obedience/rally. AFF has regular schedule of seminars ranging from getting the most out of your sports dog to behavior discussions led by professionals. Do your dog a favor and go to AFF. read more

Absolutely wonderful. I drove almost five hours for a seminar here, and will make the drive again. I'm thrilled with how well they treat newcomers! I learned so much. The trainers, instructors, owner, attendees, etc. all were very sweet. Paula, the center owner is great. I can't go on enough about how pleasant she was. I immediately felt welcome when she showed me around the place and explained where we would be for the event. The place was so clean and tidy. There were multiple bathrooms, plenty of crate space for dogs, and refreshments. I couldn't find anything I would need that wasn't provided. There's even areas to break your dog outside. If you're in the market to compete or even do basic obedience with your dog, don't skip out on this place. read more

I was so excited to find AFF training as the owner & trainers were females. However the owner asked me in the initial interview, Why did you buy a Labrador puppy? She was suggesting I was too old. I replied: Because I wanted to. Then the trainer asked me, Why did you buy a Labrador puppy? I retired from teaching 38 years at the #1 private girls' school in the nation, & I am not accustomed to being challenged for my opinions or my talents. I replied, Because I FU---- wanted to buy a puppy. Her name is Molly Bloom, from James Joyce Ulysses. The trainer was offended when I asked for written instructions (as I was given at PetsMart in Inwood). She complied. When the three dogs had their graduation, the trainer took pictures of the other two owners & their dogs & not Molly Bloom & me. Needless to say, I would not suggest spending money at this establishment--which I had planned to do, continuing Molly's training. I climbed Wayna Picchu in Peru on my 71st birthday. read more

For those thinking of using this place for dog training you should know that they require you to go to a seminar before you can take any of their classes. It's only offered two times a week so you'd better hope that one of those two works for your schedule. The class is to teach you about positive training and it states in their information that they don't care how much personal experience you have training dogs you must still come to this class. I don't want to have to take a humans only seminar just to do something interesting indoors with my dog. I nicely asked the woman who answered the phone if she could recommend a dog training facility where they didn't force you to take a humans only class. She said no. I said "so you don't know of any other good dog training groups in the DFW area?" She said no. I asked if anyone else who was there might be able to help by offering a recommendation. She said everyone was busy. I guess they're so busy that they don't need new business. read more

They claim that they use positive training to train dogs, but they sure do not use it on people. I also had the beginnings of a problem with submissive peeing and they made sure that it was a full blown problem. My dog pees when their head trainer walks into the room. (Sigh!) Doesn't do it around anyone else. Very over priced, very rude and condescending, just as the other reviewers claim. Also the facility is very dark and dirty. Parking is limited, and be careful with small dogs, especially in the evening, lots of owls around. read more

I came in to get some info on classes and pricing. There was a trainer at the front that greeted me. She was rude and condescending to me, almost as if she didn't want my business. I asked her if she had a brochure or something and she said no, that she would email me the info. I left my email with her and never received anything. It's a shame because I really wanted to like this facility since I live five minutes from it. There are plenty of dog training facility that would be happy to take my money, though, As for cleanliness, there were old rusty kennels sitting out front by the entrance with soiled mats and blankets. The front area where there's a little shop that sells supplies and food smelled of cigarette smoke. read more

I absolutely love this facility and the trainers here ! They have helped Caesar and I for almost 3 years now and it's the nicest indoor facility. I wish it was closer to my house , but it is definitely worth the drive . Paula Weir and Elizabeth Armstrong are so knowledgeable in training and understanding dogs . I now have a puppy that I do classes with there too ! So wonderful from obedience to agility and I hear great things about their nose work classes too ! read more

Over a year ago, I signed up for a class and paid in advance. They ended up not having enough participants for the class to "make" and so tried to switch me to another, more expensive program. I was not interested in taking the other course, and asked for a refund, less the amount for one session that I attended. Here I am a year later, another email sent a month ago, with no response from the owner of this business. They were quick to take my payment, not follow through in offering the class that I paid for, yet are non-responsive when you ask for your money back. read more

My husband James and I fond a very injured 1 year old Plott hound on July 9th 2016 at the Boulder mt. Bike park in Dallas. He needed medical attention right way. It was a life changing caregiving experience getting him well. After the emergency vet, we saw our vet who referred us to a wonderful Sergical vet. It took numerous visits at a staggering bill, we opened a go fund me and told his story and the donations flowed in.we were overcome with gratitude. They covered 90% of the medical costs. Once the healing was underway, we noticed he had a large callous on the back of his neck. He was apparently chained some where. He had no basic manners, was a complete wild 1 year old dog 55 lbs with a health set of teeth. His temper was happy and friendly, no one ever showed him how to act. We had another hurdle to over come. His education. Paula was kind but firm. We worked together to help young strong Boulder become a pup with better manners and enjoy living indoors and sleeping in the big bed with us. He is sort of a lumberjack dog, a little on the clumsy side, but sweet as honey. We love our boy and Paula very much helped that love grow. read more

I've been taking my dogs to AFF for both training and for agility competitions for 2 years. The staff are AWESOME, the owner a TRUE dog lover and advocate for dogs. The facility is EXTREMELY clean and I've NEVER smelled urine or fecal odors ever. It is awesome having an indoor facility, especially during inclement weather, that happily provides such a fun, safe atmosphere for competitions & training sessions. Can not recommend All Fur Fun highly enough! read more

We've been going to classes at AFF for two (2) years now. We've worked with three different trainers, Stacy, Karen, and Ellen and have learned a lot while enjoying each of the classes. The owner, Paula, is incredibly passionate about dogs and is great with advice. She also teaches but we've not had a dog in her class as of yet. We have participated in her training introductory class for humans which was a fantastic introduction to how AFF does things and what is offered at the facility. We like that if the weather is bad, they have open play times where you can go and play for an hour for just a few dollars. We've also recently started using the services of Julie, the Groomer at AFF, for our dog and Julie has proven to be very good as well as great with our dog. read more

I paid $35 for an "intro to positive training class" which is a required prerequisite for all obedience classes. The owner told me she would reach out and let us know which class we should sign our dog up for. Well, I waited a week and never heard from her so I called and she said she had been busy and would reach out soon. It has been over two weeks since then and still no call to get my dog into a class. WHAT A SCAM!!! so I essentially spent $35 for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. read more

Tucker and I have been going to AFF for almost a year now. We both enjoy it immensely. He's learned so much and so have I. Paula and her staff and trainers are so positive and really care about the dogs and how we as humans communicate with our pups. Tucker has an innate ability for agility but I don't know what I'm doing sometimes. Paula and her crew helps us be clearer with what we want our dogs to do and be consistent doing so. The training is as much for us as it is for the dogs. Her philosophy is one of positivity and it shows in Tucker. He's having fun and so am I! Will he be an agility champion? Who knows? It's about the journey and we're having a hell of a good time! read more

I took the ITP class even though I have an older dog and was just looking for new things for her to do. Good info and people who are really interested in the well-being and good-training techniques for your pet! I hate that it is so far away (I am near downtown) I wish there were more later weekday options for me, even 6:30 is next to impossible to make work. I hope I can get into a class someday soon. Shop has great toy and food options! read more

My dogs and I always have a great time at AFF! Paula, Ellen, and Shannon have the best solutions for my questions about dog training and how to improve our performance in competitions and just plain having fun. AFF is always neat, clean and well-staffed by friendly folks who love my dogs as much as I do! Amazing training facility! read more

I wanted to get my dog into agility & though I wasn't a fan of paying $26 to sit in a room to discuss everyone's personal dog problems, I went ahead and sat thru the ITP class. My dog has completed several obedience classes so having to sit in a class with people who have potty training issues & no prior obedience training what so ever was kind of a waste. However, what irked me the most was that after 2 ignored emails requesting more info & to schedule private sessions, I gave up on this place. They should focus more on the dogs than trying to book events at the facility, which is what seemed to be their priority. Not to mention they really push brands they sell in their shop during the IPT, I purchased a bag of ZiwiPeak treats which ended with a trip to the vet after giving 2 pieces to my dog. I'm actually glad no one reached out to me, there were a lot of inaccuracies discussed in the IPT, which to a newbie to training would have not been noticed. read more
