Decent selection of bat mitzvah dresses. Here's the problem. When you are purchasing - everyone is so nice and helpful. And everything my daughter tried on - well they insisted is perfect and beautiful... The problem is post purchase. I was concerned abt alteration. Sure enough I came and it was wrong. It was a half fast job. And they charge $200 for alteration. That's ridiculous. I left the dress there and came back another day. Still needs to be altered but now owner cannot be bothered with me. She even got snippy. She is insisting that some dresses just cannot be fixed. Well - theb why are u selling me this dress and charging me $200 for an impossible alteration?. I'm so annoyed. I have 2 more kids and I would never go back. Nor would I let my friends go back. Good selling job, poor execution ladies. I'm taking the dress to another seamstress here and paying again! read more

After my first review the manager reached out to me and apologized. I appreciated her doing that. But I do stand by what I originally wrote. Their dresses are beautiful and their salespeople lovely and helpful but customers should keep in mind that their follow up customer service and tailoring is sub par. Original review: I wish it was possible to give zero stars. Though they have a beautiful selection of dresses, their customer service and tailoring are horrible. We went for my daughter's fitting and they gave our dresses back one week before her bat mitZvah. When she went to try them on, one was tailored incorrectly and the other still had its pins in and hadn't even been touched. We rushed it to our local tailor because they are closed on sundays and Mondays and they managed to get it done but obviously charged us more because it was a rush. When I tried to explain to All dresses Up this issue they were unsympathetic and not apologetic. The manager wouldn't even get on the phone with me. They didn't offer me anything to fix the problem. I have only bad things to say about all dressed up ! I had bought my daughter her bat mitzvah dress and had it adjusted by a couturier seamstress. However when we were half way into her party, the zipper broke! I am very disappointed by these services, my daughter was extremely embarrassed. read more

What a wonderful experience we had today shopping for my niece's Sweet 16 dress. The moment we walked-in Marcia was attentive to our every request. Everyone in the store was lovely and sweet. They have a wide selection of dresses for every occasion for a variety of budgets, but be prepared to spend if you have expensive taste. I literally felt like I was on "Say Yes to the Dress," but for teens. My niece lives in Manhattan but goes to Catholic school in Queens. She went shopping in Forest Hills and said the dresses at this store were a bit more princess/pageant-like, which both my sister and I loved. We wanted traditional, age-appropriate with a touch of glam and that's what this store offers. Actually, lots of glam, and very classy. We just bought a Dress for my daughter's upcoming Bat Mitzvah at All Dressed Up. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this store. My daughter bought the first dress she tried on thanks to the impeccable taste and guidance from the staff. There was a huge selection of affordable dresses that looked much more expensive than their actual price. The women who worked there were so encouraging and kind-they made my daughter feel like a princess. They helped us put together the whole ensemble by helping us choose shoes and other accessories. I recently visited All Dressed Up with a young family friend of mine, as well as my mom. We were looking for a dress for my family friend's bat-mitzvah. What an amazing experience we had! Even though the store was busy, the salespeople were so friendly and highly attentive. I am surprised at the reviews below, since the experience we had was amazing. We worked directly with the store owner -- Monique. She was able to connect with my family friend and help her find the perfect dress for her special night. After looking around the store, I ended up wanting to try on gowns for myself! Since Monique was busy helping my family friend, I worked with another salesperson. She encouraged me to try on different styles that I might not have gone for ordinarily. I found the perfect dress. Overall, the experience at All Dressed Up exceeded our expectations. Everyone made us feel at ease throughout the whole process and we walked away delighted with our purchases. We can't wait to share our pictures with the store! read more

We had a very bad experience at All Dressed Up. The dress that we ordered for our daughter's bat mitzvah was in very poor condition when it arrived. When we complained to the store owners about all the problems with the dress (i.e. shoddy sewing, poor workmanship, buttons out of alignment, exposed lining) we were told that they (i.e. their on site seamstress) couldn't fix the dress and that they would have to send it back to the dress maker in California. And oh, guess what, the skirt fabric was no longer available and we would have to complete change the fabric. The dress wasn't cheap, by the way, and so when we pointed out to the store owner that the quality of the dress was not compatible with the high prices they charge we were basically told "too bad" and that they wouldn't refund our money, despite all of the problems (the owner didn't deny the many issues with the dress). Since then we have heard of similar horror stories with the dresses from this store, including a girl whose skirt fell off the rest of the dress during the actual bat mitzvah party and that they had to do an emergency pin-up job. We would advise you to stay as far away as possible from All Dressed Up. Poor service, very high prices, poor workmanship, and no accountability. They're a disaster. read more

My daughter, friend and I traveled from Manhattan for the joyful experience of buying a dress for her Bat Mitzvah. All Dressed Up was recommended to us and since there are so few places in Manhattan to buy Junior formal dresses we decided to make the trip. The store was busy when we arrived and had a decent but not necessarily impressive selection. My criticism however is not regarding the lack of clothes but the service. I was shocked at how indifferent, dismissive and rude the sales people were. They answered your questions begrudgingly and really didn't seem to want to be there. Part of the joy of celebrating a special occasion is in the steps that lead to the day. Including the experience of purchasing a special and quite expensive dress. However the staff of All Dressed Up seems to be unaware of that aspect. Maybe the opening of Lesters across the way and witnessing their wonderful sales staff will set an example read more

The women that work there have amazing taste and my daughter ended up buying the first dress she tried on which was picked by the staff. They carry the most gorgeous and newest dresses. I've come here to look for both my sweet sixteen dress and my prom dress. If you're into the tacky 2002 looking dresses, this is your place! Not to mention the horrible setup they have. Their sample sizes are too small and don't have mirrors inside the changing rooms so prepare to be publicly humiliated if you want to try anything on! I recently went to All Dressed Up to look at some prom dresses. I had heard good things from friends but that is certainly not what I had experienced while there. I had arrived to the store close to 6 o'clock thinking it closed at 7, because that's what it said online. I picked out some dresses and without any help go into the dressing room. I could hear the staff saying rude comments and staring at me. One lady came up to me in such a rude and arrogant manner to tell me they close at 6 and I could only stay if I was "actually going to buy something." I felt so disrespected and I certainly will not be returning there. read more

In a day and age when shopping is at your fingertips you would think a boutique style shop like this one would strive to offer the best customer service possible. Do yourself a favor and stay home and shop online. My daughter shopped for her prom dress here, along with three girls that she brought with her. All four girls found dresses and spent over a 1000.00 combined. When my daughter went to pick her dress up, two weeks later, she tried it on at the store and noticed it was damaged. The sales girl told her it was not damaged it was just the way the fabric appeared because it was mesh and she sent her home with the dress. Once home when she put the dress on for her father he commented that there was a hole in the front of the dress and she proceeded to tell him what the sales girl said. When I went to bring the dress back for a refund I was told that I could only receive a store credit or keep the damaged dress. Due to the fact this is a specialty boutique, an hour from my home, and not the kind of place you would frequent to easily find something with a store credit I ended up switching the damaged dress with a similar one. I intend to donate the undamaged dress to Operation Prom in NYC. I feel like they took advantage of my daughter because she came to pick her dress up alone. I do believe that legally you need to post your return policy if you are only able to return merchandise for a store credit. Hopefully people will read this before they shop here so they will be aware of the policy and not make the same mistake I made. Maybe experiences like this one are why more and more people choose to shop online and so many boutique style shops are closing. read more

I heard about All Dressed Up from my friends. I am a senior in high school in search of a prom dress and if you are in a similar situation, or thinking about shopping here with someone who is, DO NOT GO. The women who work there are the most rude employees I have ever encountered. When walking in, I was not greeted, despite the fact that it was not busy at all. I was not asked if I wanted any help, but when I did approach someone who looked the friendliest out of the miserable bunch of women, I was bombarded with a terrible attitude. I needed help finding my size, and instead of helping me, ahe barely acknowledged my friend and I, and kept her head down and muttered something that sounded like "hold on". Im not sure if this is because the color of my skin, or if these women just hate their jobs, but I will NEVER go back ever again, and I strongly advise anyone who is reading this not to visit either. read more
