Or you're balancing on the edge of something to get a little higher and clearer view (that wood deck in front of the sound booth is decent and one is the very few spots you can sit on the edge of without security yelling at you). Drinks are overpriced and Stubbs BBQ food options are literally the worst BBQ in Austin, in my opinion. Don't fall for the old history... If it was good at one time, that time has long gone. And since it's a C3 Presents venue, it has the worst security team of all venues in Austin! They won't let you bring anything in. Anything. But I'll come here for a good band and enjoy myself. But I literally cringe when I hear a band announcement and see that it's at Stubbs Waller Creek Amphitheater. It often is the reason I don't but a ticket to a show unfortunately. It's NOT an amphitheater by any means and they are just trying to seem more relaxing & comfortable with that name, but it's the opposite. And the most annoying thing with C3 Presents security here is that if you go inside to use the restaurant, they make you empty all your pockets and clear security again. Once they made me finish my drink before using the restroom. So unless you need to do #2, sadly it's usually better to walk allllll the way to the back and use a port-o-potty, which is only easy if you're a guy and it's not 120 degrees inside.... I felt guilty, so I added a third star. But I dislike this venue so much that I had given it only 2. Just leaving that there.

The venue is mostly exposed, and on hot days, can be blazing hot wherever you are. There's nowhere to hide from the sun except in some of the public areas. You'd think that as hot as this venue can be, and how exposed patrons can be to the sun, that the owners would set up water stations everywhere. Not so. They're hard to come by, which is, frankly, just stupid (and a liability risk). Parking is a circus. Although there is ample parking, much of it is very far away (and it only gets further away the closer you approach concert time). There is a tram that runs from the parking areas to the venue, which seems like a great idea. However, when the show's over, they delay the tram service for a time (for our concert, it was 45 minutes). This means you either have to hoof it or wait until the tram starts running again. Why do they hold the tram service? I don't know, but I suspect it's because they want the premium and VIP parking holders to get their cars out before the huge traffic jam hits the streets. If you want a better parking experience, buy a ticket for the premium garage for $50. It's shaded and relatively close to the venue. Well worth the price. Don't pay for VIP parking. It's not shaded and not all that much closer. Not worth it. As far as seating, I don't really know about GA on the lawns to the back. I'm inclined to seats generally, which are typically much closer. That is true here. We liked our seats, and felt we had a good view of the stages and bands. The acoustics were also quite good. Food and drinks are not the highlight. There's ample of both, but it's outrageously expensive. I recommend grabbing a bite before the concert. There are places in Del Valle and surrounding towns. All of that said, we'd consider going again if there's a band playing that we really want to see. We like Austin (*a lot*) and this is the closest big venue to Austin. We'd probably add a couple of days to spend in Austin before or after a future concert.

You can hear the sound great from basically anywhere. It's easy to go grab food/drinks and return to your spot and bathrooms are close by as well. The service is decent for food and drinks. Ticket prices for concerts here are reasonable and some great artists perform here. It's a bit of a walk from the parking lot, but it's still definitely worth checking out!

When we asked for the ADA accessible entrance and elevator, one the staff walked us to the entrance and made sure we were on our way. Texas hospitality! Then taking the elevator to the top was easy, but slow (some elevators are that way). The only issue was the the stair to our seats were a steep grade. UGH! My fear of heights kicked in and it was a little unnerving even though every one around me was fine! When my daughter brought our merch and drinks, the usher helped her. And when I got up to use the restroom, a fellow customer and the usher helped me. The usher then suggested as the seats at the top were empty to sit there. While I don't like the venue as much these days since the staff downstairs is overly aggressive if you aren't "within the lines", it's still a great place to catch bands in a tiny outdoor venue (just don't drink so much that you fight back like I saw someone do tonight). Tonight was a lot of fun but that one staffer kept pushing people back out of the walkway if they didn't listen after the first time he asked them. Unnecessary. Luckily they don't do that on nights when it's less crowded, but honestly they should never be putting their hands on patrons. As far as food...i think they have a hot dog thing on July 4th weekend and a pancake party during SXSW but otherwise you won't get food here. But they have in and outs if you are over 21 . And the beer prices aren't horrible if you're here on a night with a good band. They are high though any other night for just hanging out (and you should drink elsewhere).

It's supposed to have brie on it, and maybe the heat evaporated it all into the pastrami? The house made pastrami itself was very good. My daughter had the green chile and cheddar sausage and commented that the bun was pretty much a piece of Texas toast. We did have an excellent pretzel and the green goddess salad was capable of being split among three of us. These things make me think I just picked the wrong thing. For all the times I've been to Scholz's, I haven't picked the right thing that makes me excited to go back to eat.
