I moved north of Baltimore years ago but would never give up the best dentist in the world. He is in a class by himself.

Before treatment, I was given an estimate that seemed reasonable, but after the procedure, the final bill ended up being much higher. There was no clear explanation that certain services, like a CT scan, would not be covered by insurance, which led to unexpected charges. The billing changed multiple times, and some charges were only adjusted or removed after I questioned them, which made the whole process confusing and stressful. On top of that, the office seemed understaffed. During my visits, I was asked to hold the suction and air tube myself while the dentist was working, which felt very unprofessional and uncomfortable. the overall experience was disappointing due to the lack of transparency and organization. I would strongly recommend double-checking coverage with your insurance and getting everything clearly explained in writing before moving forward with any treatment here.

They always greet you when you arrive, they go over the services and how much out of pocket it will be before rendered. You can say no to a service if you'd like. My dentist is Michael and he's hilarious and so comforting. I haven't had a problem yet and I've been coming here for about a year now. Also they do really good quality work, I never have any issues after my appointments. I'd recommend them.

Updated 9/21 post follow up appointment: I spoke at length…read morewith Dr. Jose and Dr. Torres both owners of the practice and I have been assured that they are taking my concerns and experience seriously, and will be addressing and training the admin staff. I feel better about my overall care and I am giving the practice another opportunity to turn my perception around. Again I had no issue with the care from the providers, and I really do hope I continue to have positive future experiences with the practice. I've been here quite a few times between my appointments and my husbands. First I'll mention the things I like about the practice and there are not many. I like Dr. Chon and the dental hygienists for the most part. Professional and knowledgeable, very clean sleek modern looking offices at both locations. Now for the bad: the front desk staff at both locations are sorely lacking. They send out appointment reminders for the wrong office location, causing us to be late for one of my husbands appointments. Flat out lied about not doing so even though we clearly had the text reminder showing the wrong office. My appointment for my laser procedure lasted longer than necessary. I was left waiting in the exam room long enough for the numbing gel to completely wear off and just took the lidocaine injections without it because I wanted to get in and out. So my appointment was at 2 I believe the actual surgery happened just over an hour later. Same issues with follow up appointments, it's hit or miss whether the reminder is for the office we are supposed to be going to. Dr. Chon is a very competent provider and I'm sure the other providers are good but I will not be going back after my final appointment this month. I personally would rather find a different practice and take my chances. Am I too harsh? Maybe but after seeing patients myself for 16 years I would never behave this way and allow my front desk staff to be so woefully incompetent.

I went to Columbia Center for Implants & Periodontics at the end of last year and had a very…read moredisappointing experience. I was seen by Dr. Torres, who evaluated me and told me I needed to extract five teeth and replace them with implants and bone grafts. She said she couldn't provide a quote or treatment plan at that visit and instructed me to return in two weeks to see Dr. Jose for his input. She even advised me to cancel a deep cleaning I had already scheduled with my regular dentist so I did, even though I really needed it. Two weeks later, I showed up for my appointment with Dr. Jose. They brought me back, made me wait a long time, and eventually an assistant came in to tell me that Dr. Torres had completely forgotten to inform anyone that I was supposed to see him. The only thing she left at reception was a treatment plan for extracting tooth #19--nothing about the five extractions, grafts, or implants she originally told me I needed. The assistant said Dr. Torres would call me that day to apologize and clarify and she never did. I chose this center because of the glowing reviews, but my experience was the complete opposite. It was unprofessional, disorganized, and a total waste of my time. Time I could have spent getting proper care somewhere else. After this ordeal, I went to The Mugford Center, and the difference was night and day. They were professional, responsible, and actually followed through. I ended up getting all the treatment I needed there without any of the runaround. The thousands of dollars I was prepared to spend at Columbia Center for Implants & Periodontics ultimately went to The Mugford Center instead. A place I recommend 100%.

I'm going to rate this practice a 1 out of 5 stars based on a recent experience. Six months ago, I…read moreexperienced a small crack on a recently installed crown. I sought Dr. Graybeal's advice on repair versus replacement given that the crown was only installed two years ago. After a quick assessment, he quickly repaired the crown and I happily walked away knowing that I didn't have to pay for a new crown. However, that's when my problem started. Shortly afterwards, I started experiencing extreme sensitivity on the repaired tooth. I went back to Dr. Graybeal three subsequent times for evaluation on the repaired crown. Each time he brushed off my concern as simply inflamed nerves (pulpitis), and that it was temporary and will eventually go away. To ease my concern, he even shaved a little bit off of the crown on each of the visits so that my teeth aren't touching, thus causing further inflammation. After six months of non-stop sensitivity/pain, I finally asked Dr. Graybeal last month to provide me with a definitive solution that will make the pain/sensitivity go away. No more brushing aside my concerns. No more shavings off of the crown. I needed a real solution. He suggested a crown replacement would solve my problem once and for all. Given my frustration from the prolonged sensitivity/pain, I asked him straight up if replacing the crown would absolutely fix the problem. He said yes and I quickly scheduled the crown replacement. The first problem I encountered after the procedure was that my gums near the temporary crown began to swell and became extremely painful while eating. Come to find out, the cement used for the temporary crown seeped into my gums during the procedure which then caused the swelling. Similar to experiences I've had in the past, I believe Dr. Graybeal rushed through the procedure and didn't inspect/clean the gum area properly after installing the temporary crown. To make matters worse, the sensitivity/pain never went away and was still present two weeks after the crown replacement. At my wits' end, I went back to Dr. Graybeal demanding answers. Upon seeing me, he immediately said that the pulpitis is now irreversible, and the only fix is to do a root canal. So two weeks earlier, Dr. Graybeal was 100% sure that a new crown would solve my problem. Two weeks later, and after spending close to $2,000 on a new crown, he is now 100% sure I need a root canal. I felt misled. After six months of agony, Dr. Graybeal knew the pulpitis was irreversible. The proper recommendation was to consult with an endodontist on a root canal procedure rather than charge me for a new crown that ended up doing absolutely nothing. I did end up consulting with an endodontist, and the endodontist basically confirmed my suspicion. The endodontist said that after two months of continuous pulpitis, my dentist should've asked me to look into a root canal procedure because the problem has become irreversible. Giving me false hope for six months is irresponsible. Suggesting that a crown replacement would fix the problem after six months of pulpitis is just straight up deceit. Dr. Graybeal's practice has been around for decades. He should know better than to do something like this to a loyal patient. I would consider carefully before visiting this practice.

After being in pain all weekend, I made an emergency dentist appointment that resulted in a referral to ARCS. The office offered to call for me and I was told I could come right then. For context, my dentist appointment was at 3:20pm and roughly by 3:40pm I was headed to ARCS. The office is clean and the front desk staff were helpful and professional. I overheard one team member speaking to another patient in Spanish so it's nice to know the environment is accessible and inclusive in this regard as well. I was called back after a short wait and X-rays were taken. Dr. Fakhari then arrived to perform some tests (these suck but are necessary to confirm a root canal is the right treatment) but before the test began he spent time speaking with me and had, quite possibly, the most pleasant, patient, and caring demeanor of any endodontist I've ever met (yes, unfortunately I have seen down this road more than once). When I was weeping during the numbing process, the aide whose name I believe was Alyssa, kindly comforted me, provided tissues, etc. Dr. Fakhari also took things very slow and checked in often. They were both very reassuring. I don't think it's possible to enjoy anything about a root canal so the fact that every other aspect of the experience is positive (including noise canceling headphones, a blanket, and Spotify) means so much. I'd very much love to never need to visit ARCS again but I'm nonetheless very grateful for their immediate availability, kindness, and professionalism across the board.
