I have been going to Dobbin Dental Suite for the past four years. I have had great experiences up until my last few interactions. First let me say that everything up until the last few interactions was just great. I am going to write about my last interaction with Dobbin Dental Suite. I made an appointment for a routine cleaning. I made this appointment in October 2021 and they told me the first opening was in July 2022. I thought that was odd to wait that long but like I said I really liked the office and the dentist. So I waited. When I went to the appointment last week everything seemed normal. They even had me verify my insurance information that nothing had changed etc like always. So when I get in the chair for the cleaning at that point the hygienist tells me that my insurance is no longer accepted. And that my dentist, that I waited 9 months to get this appointment for, isn't there that day. I was like hold on a sec. I thought about it and I decided to respectfully walk out without doing the appointment. So after doing some research the office did take my insurance when I made the appointment. They told me that they stopped taking it and that the email that they sent me about my appointment reminder stated this but I went back and read it and I can't see anywhere that they mentioned that they no longer accepted Delta Dental. So I asked why didn't you mention this when I called in to verify the appointment, or when I came in and you verified my insurance. I didn't get an answer. I was just told that it said it in the email that they sent. But I looked at the email and no mention of not taking Delta Dental any longer and having to pay in full out of pocket. I'm sorry but I feel like I have to put this in writing so that other potential patients out there will see this. read more

Thought i had an appointment on 7/30 for cleaning, arrived and was told my appointment is for 9/14 9am. My mistake. I walk out and go to update my calendar for 9/14 appt and realize I will be out of town for a wedding. Walk back into the office and ask to reschedule and I am told they are booked until March 2027 and I now I have to call when I return from wedding to see if any one has canceled. So as existing patient I am no a stand by patient. I give you plenty of notice that I need to reschedule. May have to find another dental practice. read more

I do not trust that these provoders have your best interest at heart. They disrespected my desire for privacy, told me that i ground my teeth to sell me something when I do not grind my teeth, used guilt and shame during cleanings because i have bad teeth and grew up on well water. These people like to go shopping in your mouth. Avoid this place. read more

The staff and Dr. Greenberg were very friendly, listened to my concerns, and did not try to push any products or treatments on me. I don't like most Dentist providers I have had in the past, but I finally found one I trust to be honest and not push sales like a car salesman. read more

I came to this office 4 years ago after leaving our dentist of 15 years. Then my husband and all our kids followed. And we never looked back. I love their non-pushy approach to dentistry. I used all of their dentists for one time or another for one thing or another and they are all super kind, very knowledgeable and their hand work is very good. (Writing the last part as a surgeon myself) Their hygienists are usually very pleasant and they are all up-to-date with their equipment, too. So no bleeding gums after cleaning for us. So the long and short of it we love this place and from the front desk to the senior dentists. Give them a try I think you will move your family very soon, too. read more

I have been going to Dobbin Dental now for about eight (8) years. I am extremely satisfied with the dental care that I receive here and have found that all of the Doctors, Dental Hygienists, and front staff are terrific. They are friendly, caring, and provide exceptional care. For most of my visits I see Dr. Greenberg and I am extremely happy with the dental care that I receive. She takes her time to explain any procedures that need to be performed and she ensures that everything is done properly and that you are satisfied with the outcome. Lastly, the new office is fantastic! Going to the dentist is never much fun but if you have to go, I highly recommend Dobbin Dental. read more

Worst dentists I've ever been to. The dentist said I had 15 cavities and scheduled 5 separate appointments to fill them. The second appointment I flinched and she told me maybe if I didn't do drugs I wouldn't be in this position. I was 3 years sober at the time but was on Suboxone. The fillings she did do fell out with in 6 months. Paid almost $2k for a root canal within a year oddly enough my dentist didn't see the 13 other bs cavities she was saying I had. I have been going to this practice for 33 years! Missed an appointment due to Covid and they are charging me a $60 missed appointment fee even though I called and explained the situation. They will not see me until I pay so I will be finding another dentist! read more

The front office staff need some serious training as they are rude and customer service is zero. The doctors and dental hygienists are good if you can prevent yourself from walking away from the people at the front. They yell at customers and very disrespectful. read more

I have been a patient at Dobbin Dental for the past 10 years and probably have spent nothing less than $15K on dental work over the years. From recommendations from a number of friends, I recently decided to switch to another dentist and went personally to pick up my records from Dobbin Dental. It was nothing less than an insult to be asked to pay $15 for such records, especially when I was saving them the cost of postage. The office is a mixed bag. Doctor Paliotta is amazing. She's especially great with kids. Doctor Bowman, not so much, but, he's not terrible. The hygienists are all fantastic--friendly, careful, relaxed. Their technology is up-to-date. They don't go nuts on the x-rays or the procedures. But then there's the desk. Appointments? Good luck calling to make an appointment. They can't handle it. Even making one in person after your visit is ridiculous--they insist on adding at least a week or two after the six month window, "because your insurance won't cover it otherwise." Do this enough times, and your January/June schedule eventually becomes an April/September schedule. Billing issues? Leave a message for her, and she'll call you back at her convenience. Maybe. I've had to leave four messages before she's gotten around to returning my call--and be sure to answer, because that's your one chance, or else you can start the game of phone tag all over again. Indeed, thanks to the billing office and their inability to properly bill my insurance last year, leaving me to spend over 9 months, and at least 20 hours on chats and phone calls with the insurance provider to do what the billing office can do with a mouse click and their automated system, I will be moving my business after 15 years. I've recommended this place to others, and brought business their way. My kids all had their first dentists appointments here--I've got the Polaroids they took to prove it. Yet none of that was enough to get the billing office to help me when I needed it. So that tells you something about what you can expect. If you don't mind lining the pockets of a practice for a few quinquennia, and having that loyalty mean nothing when you need a little service from the desk, then maybe this is the place for you. read more

Absolutely worst dentist office! Please do yourself a favor and never go. There are NO appointments anyway until next year! The receptionist is rude and there is dentist there that's hands shake sooo bad they need help from other dentists! I have been a patient here for 9+ years but after my first and only experience with Dr McMillen, I'll be finding a new practice. She was incredibly rude, spoke down to me for having concerns about the procedure, did not explain anything she was doing and when she was finished literally stood up and walked out, not giving me any time to ask the two (simple) questions I had. When I asked my questions at check out she came back up and continued to be rude to me in front of all of the staff. I can understand why this was a practice that won awards and was difficult to get an appointment in and now when they are only left with doctors like Dr McMillen they have not been recognized for anything in years. read more

These people charge $15.00 to email an xray. I had some issues with them after older dentist retired. Still more honest than most dentists.

My old dentist stopped accepting our insurance and I had a broken tooth that needed fast attention. Dobbin Dental got me in that day to see Dr. Culotta who is now regular dentist. She's terrific. In fact everyone I've dealt with has been professional and courteous, from the gals out front to the hygienists (I've had 4 and they're all top-notch) and especially Dr. Culotta. I'm not an easy patient to deal with. Loads of fear and anxiety just going for a checkup, actual procedures are worse, but Dr. Culotta has been patient and understanding each time I've been back. I love this place. Can't believe I'm saying that about a dental office. read more

I've been coming here ever since I was a kid, and I've never had any major problems with the place. Of course, there's always a wait for the Dr. to check your teeth, but that's going to happen anywhere. The dental hygienists are very competent and friendly- I especially like Andrea. I usually see Dr. Paliotta or Dr. McMillen and they're both great dentists. DO NOT see Dr. Bowman. He is an absolute asshole and is so rude. He did the crown for my root canal and he uses an outdated method (metal inside), so if you need a crown done definitely don't go to him. This compounded with the fact that he's an unpleasant human being made the whole thing awful. read more

Dentists there are great. Will not find a better dentist anywhere else. The office staff is a hit or a miss. Some are rude some are friendly. I was there the other day and watched one of the older ones get rude and impatient with a new customer that wanted to come there and she acted like she didn't have the time of the day to help them. Then ran out the door at 5pm. I called to follow up from a previous visit and because I asked more than 1 question the girl hung up on me. I called back and asked for a manager and she hung up on me again. Called back and spoke to a manager and she didn't seem to care about her staff acting like that. Just said she doesn't know whats going on. Billing/ office staff not the best for sure. Dentist are wonderful if you can get past the un-professionalism over there. read more

My family and I have been customers at Dobbin Dental for over 20 years faithfully and I am really disappointed in the office manager. I have explained to her twice about my husband illness he often feels ill - nausea,vomiting, fatigue etc - he is on dialysis and because he missed two appointments for cleaning he was discharged from the practice. The staff are quite courteous except for this one person. My husband has no control over his feelings on a daily basis. Where is the empathy?? I am not going to get frustrated. I will not add any more stress to my husband,s situation, we just have to find another dental practice but I'm just letting the public know that they really do not care. read more

I had an excruciating tooth ache on a Sunday. I called the emergency number, was called back by Dr. Bowman within 10 minutes. He prescribed meds to my pharmacy and was relieved within the hour. I couldn't have asked for better patient care! read more

Be aware of your insurance. I hadn't been here in 2 years, came in and they didn't check my insurance. I was under the impression my insurance was valid since it was still being deducted from my paycheck and no one contacted me from the company stating otherwise. I found out my insurance was not valid until after I received services and went to a surgeon referred to by them. The surgeon stated that Dobbin Dental never checked my insurance even though they quoted me with follow up work using my insurance coverage. The surgeon was nice enough to waive an exam fee of $160 BEFORE services since I had no idea of this issue. I reached out to dobbin dental several times after I received my bill from my visit asking for a simple discount due to the inconvenience. The lady in charge of billing was nonchalant and rude, said she would pass my message along to the dentist who makes the final decision. Never received a call back so I followed up, spoke to someone else who would ask. Followed up a third time, never got to speak to my dentist but they said it's a note in my profile that the dentist said no discount. For this reason I am leaving 1 star, considering it's a pandemic and no one was kind enough to offer a solution to something that was no fault of my own. The hygenists and dentists are great. However, the front desk staff and billing are horrible. I was lied to about the cost of a crown. The front desk insisted the price stated was what my insurance plan would pay. Then after the permanent crown is inserted, the price is jacked up. I have questions about what the front desk stated to me regarding the price, etc., and Dobbin Dental refuses to answer my questions, stating answering them is too difficult. I am not returning to Dobbin Dental. HORRIBLE read more

I have seen Drs. Satola and McMillan for quite a while and have been satisfied with their work, but will no longer be using this office because of the of the billing staff. In 10/2015 I had dental work done and there was a billing dispute. Trying to get Dobbin Dental's billing employee on the phone to discuss this matter is virtually impossible. All you get is a recording that states you will get a call back in about a few days. Most often you will never hear back. My dental insurance company (Metlife) tried contacting the billing office by phone a number of times, but could not get through or the courtesy of a call back. In March 2016, they sent Dobbin Dental a letter concerning the billing error. Dobbin's billing office did nothing with the letter other than just file it away without responding. A month later, Metlife had to send a follow-up letter advising Dobbin that they could be dropped from the MetLife network if they did not respond and correct their billing notice. Finally, Dobbin Dental's billing office called and said the problem was that that they did not submit the original bill properly. I would avoid using Dobbin Dental unless you enjoy spending hours on the phone trying to resolve issues with employees who don't do their job with any degree of competence. read more

My mouth and I have been around, I mean I've tried more than my fair share of dentist all over Maryland and I found that Dobbin Dental Suites is among the top ranking dental practice in Howard County. Dobbin Dental Suites staff has excellent customer service, my dentist Dr. Carrie McMillen has the most gentle and light hands, talented, clinically accurate and precise is she. Let's face the facts no one desires another person tinkering inside their mouth, not to mention nerves in the mouth and gum area are super sensitive. The last thing you need is someone who is not spot-on or who cannot visualize the final outcome of your dreamed perfect veneers and tooth implants. Veneers do not come cheap, so having the right dentist that can eliminate the frustration and aggravation of paying for something that is not at par to what you like is a must. Dr. McMillen also works with lots of children. Everyone who visits her seems to really have a good client based relationship with her. Let's just say I've found my tooth fairy at Dental Dobbin Suites. Dr. McMillen does not need to leave a dollar under my pillow, although it would be wonderful if she did. I'll gladly give her my dollars instead for a work well done. read more

I started visiting Dobbin Dental because of a friends referral, and it's close to where I live. The technicians were always kind and knowledgeable. The dentists seemed to always suggest that I have my childrens baby teeth filled, which I don't plan on doing. And one dentist even did my exam without gloves on, I didn't notice until he was done. Another issue is how large the office is, which makes it difficult to get a timely appointment, and there's no privacy because the exam rooms are only divided by a half wall. Also, if they decide you've missed or cancelled to many appointments, they ban you from returning to their offices without warning. read more

I just switched to this practice and couldn't be more delighted. The reception staff are exceptionally organized and helpful. Very short wait in the waiting room prior to my appointment--I came a few minutes early and was taken back right on time. Amy, the hygienist, is honestly one of the best I've ever had (if not the best). She did a very thorough exam and cleaning, was very gentle, did an excellent job educating me (I learned things I had never heard in 30 years of routine dental appointments), and was friendly and conscientious. I didn't need to see the dentist for very long, but she was also friendly, thorough and informative. They also have evening and Saturday hours, which is a big plus for my family and me. The only downside is the length of time you may have to wait for a routine appointment--they book months in advance--but the receptionist was able to work me on sooner because I had some symptoms and was concerned I had a cavity. I think the wait is worth it for this practice. Just plan ahead. read more
