Bill responded on the same day that I messaged him to request an on-site estimate to repair or replace the capping strip. The next day, he came to the house twice--first while my wife and I had made a brief run to the grocery store, when he quickly assessed the situation and called me with his proposed solution, and he returned shortly thereafter. Unlike other better known (and highly marketed) companies that insisted that the strip was not repairable and would need to be replaced with a custom-made new piece to be installed on a separate appointment date, Bill was able to restore the piece to its original shape and secure it in place--all in less than an hour. In his work, Bill is honest, professional and incredibly reasonable. He literally saved me at least $400 for the bare minimum replacement cost proposed by other companies and just about double that if I had agreed to the "better" option of replacing additional stretches of flashing. I would not hesitate to use Havertown Roofing and Siding again and would highly recommend it with confidence to others as well.

She was emailed directly by a woman affiliated with the company who requested payment via Venmo. After the payment was sent--using the exact information provided in that email--the same person denied ever sharing a Venmo account and claimed they never received anything. We contacted the police immediately, and after reviewing the evidence, they confirmed this situation is highly suspicious and likely fraudulent. A formal investigation is underway. This business is not trustworthy. Save yourself the stress, money, and legal hassle--go anywhere else.

The estimate was more than expected, but everything is these days, so I said sure let's go ahead. They said it would be two weeks, but it was closer to four. When they were done, they had neglected to put the cages over the downspouts. When I called them and told them this, they said they had forgotten to put that in the estimate and it would be $100 more for them to come out and install the cages. I was not happy about that because I had asked for it to be included and was told it would be included. The guy said he understood and would see if he could give me a better price. Now I got the new estimate and it's $150, for something that was supposed to have been included in the original estimate. Not good.

Here are a few moments we did not like. - The quote was 40% higher than every (6) other quote we got. Yes, I'm the bozo who believed they would do a better job on the roof, communication and cleanup. - They were unwilling to provide/send the presentation to us so that we could re-review it (should have been the first red flag). - The dumpster was left in our driveway for 3 more days than we were told. Who doesn't love a dumpster of trash blocking their driveway over the weekend. They did put wood blocks under the dumpster to protect the driveway which we did ask about and appreciate. - The cleanup was horrendous. We notified the company at least three times that there were nails still left scattered all over the yard. To their credit, they did come back out to clean but what a half butt job to the point we had to incur the cost of buying our own magnetic lawn sweeper. Subsequent cleanups included paper, plastic, nails (on the ground and on the roof), cigarette butts and broken shingles from the old roof. Nails were both old nails and new nails. - During the presentation we specifically asked if they used sub-contractors. They said they did not and if you go with them then you will find out what's accurate. If you are picky, hope this helps, make your own decision based off of your own experience. Tom reliably showed up to give an estimate for gutter work on the roof of my house. He gave a price…read moreof $5,000 to replace all gutters and guards, as well as to clean the downspouts. That seemed like a lot of money for a day's work, but I said 'So be it' to myself. He added that the price might be higher if he had to buy new wood and metal to do the job well. He then said that he would be 'hands-on' but, as soon as he dropped off his workers, he left the job and didn't come back. When he returned days later, he told me that I owed him another $2,200. When I balked at this, he got testy and, so, lowered the additional charge to $1,700 ('because I want to work for you again,' he said). I challenged him to itemize the extra costs. He said that the additional wood was $300 and the additional metal was $500. I asked what accounted for the other $900 that he was demanding. 'Additional labor costs,' was his answer. I pointed out that his initial price had to have included the laborers' pay for the day - and they finished the job before 5 pm. Tom started sulking; then he became irate: 'Just give me the $5,000 - forget the rest.' It was a good ploy. I felt sorry for him, so I wrote a check for $6,000 - not the $7,200 that he wanted nor the $6,700 that he then proffered as a compromise. A qualified professional, who knows my house, said that $5,000 for new gutters and general maintenance of the system was a very high but not completely unreasonable charge for the work. But Tom's demand for an additional $2,200, then $1,700, was, this professional said, outrageous: 'He saw that you willingly paid the $5,000, so he figured that he could extract another couple of thousand from you.' I liked Tom personally but regret paying him what I did. I urge, then, whomever might hire him to be strong in negotiating about the job - and not to give in to his emotional ploys to price gouge.

Top it off, the house looks fabulous! Overall Tom is very conscientious and his team were top notch tradesman. Having done a fair amount of remodeling, I'm very particular about the work being done and I it was all top notch. They are highly recommended!
