We'd like to think we're self sufficient and able to do our home maintenance ourselves, but after…read morethe dirt storm in spring and the new roof we had installed last year, our windows were less than ideally clean. We tried washing, used windex, used vinegar and they just didn't look great. We found LA McMahon in a mailer. We vetted them against two other companies and all were priced similarly, but LA MCMahon had the best customer service and schedule times so we selected them. Setting up an appointment was easy. I had counted my windows ahead of time and they confirmed the count onsite when they arrive. The technician was on time, professional and so polite. He did a great job inside and out. He brought all his own equipment, ladder, etc. It really was worth it to have the professionals come out and do this job. We look forward to using LA McMahon next spring.

Icycool provided window washing services to our condominium complex of 5 buildings. This is not…read moreabout the actual window washing services provided, they did a nice job. My issue is with one of their employees. I have lived in my unit for over 32 years. My window screens are 32 years old and in disrepair. When I saw the window washers working on one of the buildings, I went over to one of the workers and asked if we we're getting new screens? He said, 'No'. If the old screens were going to be put back up, I told him I would prefer if he not replace mine. This is where the 'miscommunication' might have happened. Icycool was hired to remove, repair, and replace all of the screens. I did not know this. I thought the worker would have to do a special haul away for me only and asked, 'How much do I owe you?'. He named his price, which I doubled because I thought I was inconveniencing him. He, at that point was at building number two--I am in building five, his last to be serviced. Later that day, I heard him loading his truck and saw him placing All of the screens of the building in his truck. I am now confused. If he is taking all of the screens anyway, why did he charge me? I ended up contacting the Condo Association to ask what was happening with the screens that were removed? He told me they were all going to be removed, repaired, and replaced. The employee never told me that everyone was having their screens removed and repaired. Why was I charged if he was taking all the screens anyway? I was not supposed to be charged according to the Condo Association. When contacted by the association ( I'm not sure who he spoke with), the employee said, 'He thought it was a tip'. During my exchange with that employee I asked, ' How much do I owe you?'....and he gave me a price so it was a payment. He was gaslighting. I don't care about the money, it really wasn't that much. I do object to an employee giving himself a 'tip' when I thought I was paying for a job. He should have told me that he was repairing, cleaning, and replacing all screens. My interaction with him was a payment not a 'tip'. My rating of 3 stars is based on the following: 5 stars for the window washing job for the entire complex 1 star for the employee who gaslit me, which averages out to be 3 stars. This is MY opinion only, MY experience only as far as I know. You can decide whether or not this is important to know.

They almost never answer the phone, take sometimes days to call back. This last time (yesterday), though, the one guy they sent (used to be 2) dumped my 3 loaded powerstrips in my home office from the window ledge to the floor. Left them in a tangled mess. It could have shut me down completely. Later I very, very carefully retrieved them from behind my whole set-up, untangled them and set them all up again. I was home the entire time. Why didn't he just ASK me to move them, or ask if HE could move them? They were on a very wide ledge and to me did not interfere with his access to the window glass (I took photos). Through my recommendation, I have gotten Thomas Cleaning many clients over the years.
