I first met Robert with All Clean ChemDry in the mid 1990's & utilized his services until 2010 at which time I installed Pergo flooring. In 2019, I switched out the bedrooms to carpet. My husband @ the time was physically handicap & shuffled his feet causing the carpet to be worn down & soiled. When it was time to get the bedroom carpet cleaned, I was overjoyed to see Robert was still in business. Robert returned my call the same day & an appointment was immediately made. When Robert arrived we both laughed as he remembered servicing my residence in the past. Robert assessed the areas which were concerning to me @ which time he advised me the shuffling coupled with the husbands' soiled shoes & the nylon fibers in the carpet do get damaged. I asked him to work his magic but I also knew there was a possibility I would have to replace the carpet due to my A type personality. When Robert finished the room, he had me look the job over. OMG, it was almost new looking! Robert vacuumed, ChemDryed the carpet & raked/swept the carpet fibers. What I love about ChemDry is your carpet does not get saturated with water resulting in damage & taking a complete day to dry. With ChemDry the carpet is dry w/in hours. We purchased a house and had an issue with cat dander. We called Robert who was happy to accommodate our tight schedule, between closing and move-in date. We even had a power outage 30 minutes before the scheduled cleaning and he worked with us to come after power was restored. The service was unparalleled! While great service is always welcome, the actual cleaning was spectacular. The carpet was obviously cleaner, but more importantly some allergy symptoms were noticeably reduced. The cleaning job was just fine, I have no complaints about the quality of the work. The job consisted of two small easy access areas. One area was in front of the couches. Approximately 80 sq ft. (measured) The other area was around the bed, approximately 130 sq ft. (measured). There was nothing to move and nothing to work around. The area was totally clear. The job was easy and fast. He gave us his estimate. $288 Being ignorant, we didn't have any idea what to expect and had not shopped around so we just signed the agreement. We noticed later that he wrote down 400 sq ft! That is almost twice what it actually is. While he was doing it I decided (too late) to look on the internet for carpet cleaning in Clovis. I found many places and found that the average cost to clean carpet per square foot typically ranges from $0.20 to $0.50 sq ft. Every place I saw listed worked around those guidelines. This guy just saw two old folks and just ripped them off. His price worked out to $1.38 sq ft! I will never use him again and suggest that you look elsewhere for your carpet cleaning. We have used different Chem Dry groups for years with our carpets. However we were not happy this year with All Clean Chem Dry. It started when I noticed that Robert started to do the carpets without vacuuming first. This was a "red flag". I had always been told that Chem Dry vacuums the carpets really well before laying down the liquid. It made me wonder about what other short cuts he might take. Then he had to tell us stories about how he chases after money. Another "red flag". Robert is a nice guy, we enjoyed his stories, but we hired him to get our carpets cleaned. The cost surprised us. I was referred to this company by a friend who used the company and was quoted $60.00 per hour. That's clearly not the case! I waited 2 weeks with a designated time. Robert and crew (2) arrived 4 hours early, then quickly looked at my 7 month old couch which my father sat on for only a month prior to hospitalization and unfortunately he passed away. Because he was early and I had a lot of other maintenance crew in place I didn't really look at the contract which was pushed in my face. I signed the agreement as I was overwhelmed at the time. The crew came in (left a dirty floor although they had a large tarp) and was gone within less than an hour. The couch was visibly dripping wet! two days later it's still damp! His fee was 244.00 dollars! I spoke with my friend who referred and she was shocked at the price! I decided to reach to Robert who had given me his card and said I am disappointed in the cost and he response was "well you signed the agreement ". I suspect I was paying for 2 employees time (one who was looking at his phone most of the time). He asked what he could do to make it right I said it's a 150.00 job as the couch was virtually new! Ironically, the bill stated stain removal...funny as the couch had been covered for almost 6 months! Robert stated my friend was a liar and he never charges $60.00 an hour! Omg! Really! First of all, I just want to say that I greatly apologize, Rob came to my house twice now in the last 3 weeks due to my four-legged baby making another boo boo on the carpet. I have been busy or I would have drafted this Yelp review weeks ago. I recently moved to Clovis from the bay area and moved in with a family member. She has a beautiful home with carpet. My dog is used to a hardwood floor and puppy pads, needless to say, she thought the carpet was a puppy pad. The guilt and anxiety I felt for what she did to the carpet were beyond words. I never thought I could get the odor out of the carpet in a million years. I know that steam cleaning is more of a superficial type of service. Then I discovered Chem-Dry, I researched went on YouTube etc. and it seemed like there was hope. I made an appointment with Rob, and when it came time to call him to confirm our appointment because I forgot the date I accidentally called Chem-Dry of Fresno Clovis. Price shopping as most of us consumers do their price was literally half of the price. If I knew then what I know now I would have rather paid triple the price. Rodney Hartman (the owner) came out was quite friendly, however, the smell of the urine was even stronger than before when he left, and never subsided like he said it would. I called Rodney the next day to tell him how devastated I was and that I'd actually checked his Yelp reviews, unfortunately after the fact and was very disappointed. Of course, just like most companies, they insist on coming back and doing it again to make it better but there was no way I was going let him come back if it already was a horrible job in the first place. It literally smelled worse it was horrible and the carpet felt hard and grimy when we walked on it barefoot. And of course no refunds. I called Rob and I was embarrassed but had to be honest and told him my situation and how depressed I was because I just lost out on $150 including a tip that I gave Rodney because he convinced me that the smell would subside and that the odor was the P.U.R.T CHEM DRY'S PATTEN SOLUTION - Pet Urine Removal Services working. Rob assured me that he would take care of me and boy, did he? The odor ((((went away within minutes of him treating the carpet))) and never came back his professionalism, his kindness, his knowledge is equipment van everything was identified (unlike this ChemDry) the way it's supposed to be.
