I've now had 4 appraisals done on my property, and Heidi's was the only abnormal experience. I paid…read more$700 for a private appraisal and it seemed from the beginning that Heidi was going to rush and did a poor quality job, possibly due to the request not being requested by a bank by just by myself personally. She also sited, "...our appraisal software company is having server issues due to a cyber attack." I can be understanding of delays due to such issues, but feel that she took advantage of the situation and delivered a poor quality appraisal report. Here's a few notes: 1.) She verbally mentioned skipping steps in the appraisal due to not being required by a bank (such as water heater details, etc.). 2.) She used comps from a completely different town and market despite there being comps in the same neighborhood. 3.) She used a different methodology than the other three prior appraisers. What I will say to be fair is that she communicated professionally and was timely (other than the unexpected delay that she communicated about - which i'm guessing made her backed up on work and why she clearly rushed mine), which is why I am giving a 2/5 star review. She also only charged $700 whereas the past other appraisers charged $900. However, the quality of the work wasn't even worth $100, it was clearly sloppy with more than a few typos and errors (that were never corrected). If I could do it again I'd hire someone else and happily pay a few hundred more to have a report done well and on time vs. one that's full of errors and other issues.

First, ServPro, gave me an estimate for mold remediation and kitchen demolition for $4,440.13,…read morewhich was the worse case scenario. So, the demolition could be more or less. This estimate does not include the reconstruction (putting the kitchen back together). I have a tenant in the location and certainly wouldn't want anyone to suffer in a kitchen that was not functional. I asked for a reconstruction of the kitchen (the estimate for that is forthcoming). What is puzzling to me is that I had to ask for the photos and the moisture reading after their initial visit to the property. Why should I have to ask for that? Isn't that part of their inspection service? Note: I paid the inspection fee, too. Then I asked for a breakdown of the initial estimate, line-by-line, and now the estimate has increased to $4,600.73. And the estimate has terms I can't even understand. How can a worse scenario estimate increase? I don't understand this at all. Have others experienced this with ServPro in Bellingham, WA?

I have used JD's movin twice. The first move went well so when I moved again I hired them again…read more The second move was out of state and they just loaded my U-Haul. When I got to my destination and the U-Haul was being unloaded I began noticing damage on several pieces of furniture. I contacted him the same day he loaded the truck and things went off the rails quickly. At first he admitted liability and offered to repair my mattress, but as more things came off the truck damaged he changed his response and began denying responsibility. I asked for his insurance information and sent him purchase receipts for the damage items, he wouldn't give me his insurance information. In the end I had a ruined mattress (only 2 years old), a broken antique sewing cabinet, a ruined drafting table, and a warped shelf from a metro rack totally over $2,000 in damage. And an extremely hostile text exchange where he blamed the damage on the fact that I lived on the fourth floor. I lived on the third floor. Save your money and hire someone else. **Update** Jason Dean is now harassing me and making false claims because I left this review. I never signed anything nor had the opportunity to inspect the packed truck. How does one do a walkthrough of a tightly packed truck anyway? I am the person that unloaded the truck with the help of a friend so I saw with my own eyes the way that it was packed improperly. A properly packed truck should not cause this type of damage to my belongings. Not to mention the fact that I told them to use the mattress protector and how to install it before moving the mattress out of my bedroom. Yet when I came upstairs the mattress was being slid across the floor without the protector on it. When they attempted to slide it down the stairs it caught on the threshold and tore off part of the threshold. At the time it was easy to fix the threshold so I only asked them to do that before ending for the day. They did not tell me that the threshold had tore open my mattress in 3 spots and that there was black grime all over the side of it from dragging it along the floor unprotected. Jason did not put the mattress protector on until he got the mattress to the truck.

Go with Insight Peat control instead. They're cheeper and will actually take care of the problem. 6…read moremonths I had NW Pest coming to my house for mice and by month 7 I was still hearing them. I was being kept awake at night because the scratching was so loud. I was given numerous excuses as to why he couldn't go into my crawl space and attic. His son is the one that would show up to refill the traps but everything else needed to be done by the his father. The majority of the time was out of work with either a shoulder or hip injury. By month 7 I was fed up and needed someone to do something other than refilling bait stations. When I called him to tell him, he yelled at me and called me impatient. Now I'm paying $5000 to have my entire crawl space cleaned, sanitized, and reinsulated. I had just done a remodel a year prior so the damage was done in the time waiting for him to figure out how to take care of the issue. I had Insight Pest Control come in and they were able to take care of the mice in a matter of weeks. They also looked at the bait stations that were left by him (which he never picked up and are still at my house) and told me they were not set up correctly. Ha also told me the entrance that I saw a possum go in was not possible to access my crawl space. The people doing the clean out confirmed that was the entrance the possum was using to get in and sealed it. I'm all for working with small businesses but he crossed the line when he raised his voice at me. I was willing to give many passes. Like having to remind him multiple times to install my crawl space door after already paying for it. He also charged me for a month of service and didn't show up for. Three months later and I'm still getting emails for appointments and follow ups saying that the appointment has been completed. I've checked my account and thankfully I'm not being charged but now I'm wondering how many times did he not show up to my house and I was just paying for empty bait traps.

I have been a customer here for 10 years. Though I regrettably don't live in Anacortes anymore,…read morewhen visiting there this past summer, I dropped off my 25-year-old wedding ring for repairs -- serious repairs -- because I trust Phil Burton, Jr. I won't go anywhere else. My ring is best described as a 'trinity ring' because it is 3 bands in one. All of the many stones are pave' set meaning they are individually inlaid into their respective prongs. In addition to having a missing diamond, the prongs were worn down and there would be a continuous, ongoing danger of losing other diamonds because of the inability of the short prongs to hold the other tiny diamonds in place. Bob (the goldsmith) and I discussed both doing the work and not doing the work. Choosing to do the work because of my sentimental attachment to my wedding ring, I trusted him to advise which prongs should be rebuilt so as to lessen the danger of losing more diamonds in the future. The more labor, the greater the cost. Burton's does not do work quickly. I always wait longer than the estimated time to get my jewelry back. However, because I trust them to get the job done in expert fashion the work is worth the wait. If there is a delay that is becoming unreasonable, Phil usually adjusts the price on the backside and undercuts his original bid for the work, not by a lot but again, enough to reward me for the delay. In the final analysis, I have always been satisfied with the work and service performed by Burton Jewelers. I also want to give a 'shout out' to Anna Maria, a young woman perfectly suited to customer service. She listens well and then soon after my phone call gets me an answer to the question posed.
