To be specific, respectively so, a receptionist coughed into their hand without using hand sanitizer after doing that, which is especially worth noting since one of their tasks involves handling cards, including IDs and credit/debit cards. Equally bad is how said doctor metaphorically waved away my aforementioned concerns by rather condescendingly stating I hadn't been infected enough to treat them outside of immediate contexts. The icing on the cake came when I asked what I should do if I get infected again and was told to take more anti-biotics, which is what I had been doing... Called back again to confirm it had actually gone out, asked for the office manager, was put on hold a very very long time. Dr Weinstein Himself comes on the phone, very surprising, thanked him and told him how much I appreciated him taking the time to resolve things himself. He was snarky and sarcastic on the phone, at first tried blaming me for error made by staff (how is it my fault they never mailed me the visit summary? They mailed me test results, why was summary not included with them when I had specifically explained at the visit when and why I needed it - BTW at crystal run you get the visit summary on your way out the door from your appointment not 2-3 weeks later) Anyway, dr weinstein ended up adopting that know it all attitude that infuriates people with drs. I tried silicone ones from the drugstore, but wasn't happy with the fit. So when I read that Kingston Audiology was under new management, I made an appointment to get some custom-fitted earplugs. I've had friends warn me about going to an independent audiology shop, since they've had bad experiences with high-pressure sales tactics. But that wasn't what I experienced at Kingston. I made an appointment with the audiologist, and was delighted with the care I got. Not only did Dr. Tilley fit me for the earplugs, she gave me some tips for ear health that my regular doctor has never mentioned. I generally like to get my health care from someone who's up to date on their field, and that appears to be true for ears, too. I'm very happy with my earplugs, and haven't had any more problems with water in my ear since I've been wearing them. I think I'm going to go back and have some custom earplugs for hearing protection made, too. I'm going to work harder to make sure I stave off as much hearing loss as I can, and I'm confident I've found a local partner to help me in that quest.
