When our daughter arrived for her appointment today, she was told that they do not accept no-fault insurance, and the office apologized for giving us the wrong information. We then asked if she could simply be seen under our private health insurance, and we were willing to pay out of pocket if necessary. Unfortunately, Dr. Massengill refused to treat her and apparently did not want anything to do with the appointment because it had originally been scheduled as a no-fault visit. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of willingness to find a solution. We were prepared to use our private insurance or pay ourselves, yet our daughter was still turned away when she was in desperate need of treatment. I understand that medical practices have financial and insurance policies, but patients should not be treated as if they are just a billing issue. In our experience, the focus seemed to be on how the office would get paid rather than on helping the patient. There are plenty of doctors who understand that patient care should come first and the financial details can be worked out afterward. Unfortunately, based on our experience today, Dr. Massengill was not one of them. Extremely disappointing.

Isn't an allergy doctor supposed to have the serums for those substances on hand to use for those tests? Since when does the patient have to supply all these items themselves? I found this to be very unprofessional, but I went along with it. In addition to that - and subsequently not even properly diagnosing my allergy - this guy had the gall to charge me a ridiculously high amount for a plastic spacer that the drug salespeople leave with doctors as samples to give to their patients free of charge. He even said, while handing it to me "Here's something for you." only to go and bill my insurance for it! Not only did I already have one and never claimed to need a new one - but I could have gotten it at my pharmacy for no cost if I did need one. That was in addition to a number of other questionable fees and charges that were tacked on to my bill. Shoddy practice, sneaky charges, and no relief from my allergy to boot. I moved right along.

However,…read more I think, especially for me as a woman, they placate you simply because of your age and perhaps they think you are a hypochondriac. .So, I was totally blown away, astonished and every wonderful adjective you can think of when I met Dr. Resnick for the first time. He was kind, considerate, I love that he smiled, he took every bit of time and more with me and that I appreciated. Sometimes they rush you out the door without really understand what is wrong with you. Not in this case. Even though I had a visible rash Dr. Resnick was honest enough to tell me that there were so many different kinds you can't always be sure. I was okay with that. He gave me Prednisone, which worked thank G-d, but it's when I told him that I had not slept in days that he gave me something to take so I could sleep. It was the best nights sleep in months and months. THANK YOU DR. RESNICK!!! I recommend him most highly and if I could give me a hundred stars I would.
