I've had issues with this doctors staff, as have 2 people I've referred to her. They've had nothing but issues with her office staff. A year ago, after telling her and her staff 3 times to make sure they call a prescription to my Mail-in Pharmacy, she called it into the wrong pharmacy. Then when Medicare refused to pay for the script because of their mistake, her response was to pay for it out of MY pocket, because it wasn't that expensive. After a number of phone calls and arguing, she finally agreed to pay for HER Mistake ! I've brought this up to Dr. Wirtshafter about her office staff and the response she gives is that she backs her office staff 100%. Then there's the issue of her office staff Changing your Appointment times without your knowledge or correspondence of Any kind. I've showed up for an appointment only to find her office staff telling you that your appointment was changed to a later time. When I brought this up to Dr Wirtshafter, her response is that her office staff can't book 2 appointments at the same time, My response to her was that, her office staff gave me the appointment times, I didn't request the time, so how does that make sense ? Well, Dr Wirtshafter stuck to her answer as her response. This is the Only doctor I've ever had issues with in my lifeand as I read her reviews, I'm not alone ! If I need Mickey Mouse medicine, I'll watch a cartoon ! I've been a long time patient for many years. She used to be good at one time, however now, I wouldn't go to her for a bandage and this is the same feeling from 2 patients so far that I've referred to her years ago ! ! I was told that I have a notch out at 4kHz and was recommended to purchase the protective custom ear plugs that comes with 2 types of plugs but you can trade them out at any time. I purchased them and got fitted with the molds. It took about 3-4 weeks to receive them which was expected. I tried them on and were great! After getting home and using them more during my music gigs I found that they were a little too good at making things quiet so I called to swap out the 2 plugs I had for less-intense ones. I called 9 times over the course of 2.5 months, left voice messages, and tried to get in touch with them. The audiologist was absent and impossible to get a hold of once I spent $360+ on plugs. I was even waiting for them to bill it through my insurance. When I finally did get to talk to the audiologist who sold me the ear protection he assured me he will order the new plugs and that they are working to bill the insurance. I followed up a month and a half AFTER that last conversation and was told the same song and dance yet nothing was getting done about this and after 4 months of failed attempts at communicating with them, I filed a chargeback claim with my credit card to which they never responded or disputed so I got my money back.
