We contacted several automotive glass repair places in the DSM area and no one was willing to repair the chip. Glass Doctor said "Sure bring it on in!" We drove an hour there and they explained that because it was the original windshield in the car, which obviously was an antique, there was always the chance that the glass could shatter while repairing it. We felt confident enough in their abilities to have them go ahead and fix it, which they did with no problems! And the price was very, very reasonable!
