We contacted several automotive glass repair places in the DSM area and no one was willing to repair the chip. Glass Doctor said "Sure bring it on in!" We drove an hour there and they explained that because it was the original windshield in the car, which obviously was an antique, there was always the chance that the glass could shatter while repairing it. We felt confident enough in their abilities to have them go ahead and fix it, which they did with no problems! And the price was very, very reasonable! All of the employees there were very nice, very knowledgeable and very friendly. If we ever need future work done to any of our vehicle windows, we will definitely go to Glass Doctor of Des Moines!

At 4pm as I was cancelling my appointment, the tech finally called to inform me that the windshield hadn't arrived this morning and still never arrived by the time he returned to the shop. Something that should have been communicated during the scheduled service window. After wasting a day waiting for service I cancelled and went with a local small business that communicated well, was priced reasonably and delivered on everything agreed upon. I would not recommend Safelite if you value communication and follow through in a service provider.
