We hired All American Chimney Sweeps on the recommendation of another contractor. We were delighted with the work. The first job was during the inspection phase of the purchase of a townhouse. He came promptly, gave a report with good details, and went beyond the norm by describing in detail the features and value of a gas log fireplace about which we had doubts. The second job was after the purchase was completed, to return to the townhouse and perform dryer duct cleaning. Again, great attention to detail and very helpful communications. Wyatt with All American Chimney Sweep was awesome to work with. After last week's hail storm, I got my roof inspected and there was a pretty good size hole on the bottom of my chimney on my roof. The hole was big enough for a rodent to go in and make it their home. Wyatt looked at the photos and told me he would stop by on Saturday and put a temporary patch (which he did) and gave me a quote for the repairs and what it would consist of. After making the appointment, he arrived today and let me know that he had another suggestion for the repair and the cost was less than originally quoted. This company misrepresented itself as being a certified chimney sweep with valid credentials qualified to conduct an accurate inspection of a fireplace and chimney in an older home. Then, after assuring us they would send the owner who claims to be certified, they sent a very young (almost like high school student) out to complete the cleaning and inspection. 1) He never went on the roof of the home to inspect yet claimed he did. (I was outside watching...he did not.) 2) He did not use any of the appropriate terms to describe the fireplace, tools, or chimney, clearly indicating that he did not know what he was doing. 3) He spent a total of about 25 minutes from start to finish the job....clearly not enough time. 4) When I asked him if he did an inspection of the structure of the chimney, he stated- "Yes, everything is sealed off." I again asked him if he was able to correctly inspect the structure of the chimney. He did not respond to that question, asked that I pay the invoice and file a complaint with the company. So of course, I immediately did so. When I spoke with the owner of the company, and asked if he was a certified chimney sweep himself with appropriate credentials, he immediately said he would just "cancel the check." He assured us he would "Check his schedule and come out himself to rectify the problem." He did not return the phone call. Natural assumption....these guys are not properly certified, didn't realize until after the fact that we know the difference, are a danger to have say they actually inspected your chimney, and are willing to not receive payment because they know the legalities of their misrepresentation. Stay away from these guys. They should not only receive zero stars but should be watched out for dangerous practices and fraud. Totally disappointed. Though....both Wyatt and Luis were very respectful and pleasant. lol Guys, personality doesn't count for much if the house burns down and someone dies. read more

I had called and talked to Wyatt on the phone but he sub contracted out to another guy. He was very polite and did a very good job. I was quoted almost double, no joke, the price by another company (that had cleaned my dryer vent) and they were "giving me a deal". Tales at least 2 weeks to get them to your house. read more

Wyatt was great! He was able to schedule an appt within a few days (as opposed to another place who couldn't do it for 3 weeks) and arrived on time. I requested an inspection on our 1977-built house and possible chimney sweep, if needed. He assessed that no sweep was needed - it looked like it had hardly been used, but the crown on top of the chimney was crumbling - a brick is literally falling off, as it's been cooked by the Texas sun for 37 years. He took photos on top to show me how it looked, as well as showing me photos of how a nicely rebuilt crown would look. We will definitely be calling him back for the crown repair. read more

I have so many excellent things to say about All American Chimney Sweeps. First I called and left a voice mail with Wyatt, the owner, after 9pm with the hope that I would receive a call back first thing the next morning. He didn't call back the next morning. He called me back the same night and made an appointment for the next day. Marco who works for Wyatt showed up on time and what a talented, sweet, knowledgeable man. I had a fire pit located in an area that was not a safe place for a wood burning stove and the flue wasn't the correct design or height. I knew I wanted to move the fire pit to my courtyard and a new flue, but Marco took one look at where I suggested and quickly pointed out that it wasn't far away enough from the gas meter. He noticed an empty stone pond that was built into my metal fence, which I had planned to fill with plants and suggested that I place the fire pit there. It was a perfect solution. There was a stone back and a stone barrier in the front. Marco built a concrete and rock structure for the fire pit to sit on top of, installed a proper flue and rain/wind cap, and surrounded the pit with dirt and topped it with recycled tumbled glass. And, I was charged a very fair price. read more

If I could I would choose no stars. They showed up nearly 3 hours late - which was roughly 8:30pm - without so much as a phone call. I had called a couple of times to see if they were still coming and got no reply to my voicemails. My infant son was already asleep for the night so I told them they would have to come back. We rescheduled for a few days later and they didn't show up at all. I called several times and had to leave voicemails. They were never returned. I called a few days later and again left voicemail that was never returned. read more

Had the chimney at my condo cleaned. Wyatt talked me into replacing a panel of the fireplace lining and stated that it was likely due to a grate that was too large for the fireplace. He offered to take my old heavy duty grate and drop off a smaller one that would fit my fireplace. After numerous calls and promises it was "on the truck" and finally un-returned calls, I'm still out a grate. After spending over $400 on the fireplace, I now get to go buy a grate to replace the one Wyatt took for replacement. I would suggest that you consider whether integrity is important in someone who is servicing your chimney and/or fireplace before calling these guys. read more

All American Chimney Sweeps came to clean out my dryer vent on April 25, 2014 and charged me $135.31. On May 14, my AC guy showed me pictures of my attic where the dryer vents were disconnected and lint was all over the attic! I have been calling Wyatt since May 14 and he has not returned my calls. I used a number and did not identify myself and he did call me back...unfortunately I wasn't able to pick it up fast enough. So....he is there...just not returning my phone calls. It really is too bad that someone has to conduct business like that. I do not suggest using his services now. And I also recommend that after anyone does work in your attic, to physically check before they leave or have them give you pictures using your camera. I'm very very disappointed. read more

Had raccoons in my chimney, after they dug through the 30 year old concrete mortar cap. ALL AMERICAN said the would smoke the raccoon out and charge me $600 to re-mortar the cap. ALL AMERICAN came out, re-mortared the cap and sealed the raccoons in the crawl space between the flue and outside brick wall. ALL AMERICAN first wanted to tear at ground level hole in the side of the chimney to get the raccoons out, instead of removing the mortar they just applied. I made them open a hole in the mortars cap, which they did and then re-mortared it after the raccoons left. ALL AMERiCAN was supposed to come out the following day or two to inspect the mortar to make sure the raccoons had not damaged the cap before the mortar set. ALL AMERICAN never came back. A week later I saw pieces of mortar on the roof around the chimney. I have been e-mailing and calling ALL AMERICAN for two weeks, three times a day, left messages with no response. read more
