So, this year I figured we'd up the game a little and do some archery. Not willing to go out and buy a whole bow & arrow set, the next logical thing was to look around and see if anyone offers lessons. Well, I didn't have to look far, as Bowhunters Unlimited (BU) made it all too easy. The Good: *Just contact them thru their website and they'll put you in touch with a member that offers lessons. We lucked out and were matched with Linda, whom I believe is the VP of BU. She was terrific. Very patient, but stern, with a group of precocious teenagers. *They offer yearly memberships for $40/year for unlimited shooting. *BU is a private club that operates in a closed off section of Stevens Creek County Park. The area is beautiful and a great spot for outdoor activities. *Small paved lot w/ port-o-potties *The lesson was much, much cheaper than you'd think. $150/4 ppl for 90min is a bargain in this area of the world. This price includes the bows, arrows, and lessons. The Meh: *The drive up is very windy. So if you're really carsick, then this ain't gonna be for you. *Cell phone signal is spotty at best. Sometimes you have signal and sometimes you don't. It's very odd. The Ugly: *Bugs! So many bugs! I don't know what it is about this corner of the park, but we were being harassed severely by some kinda fly. Fortunately they don't bite, but imagine trying to focus on shooting while bugs fly around your face. Fortunately, I had some bug spray in the car, so that helped a lot. Incredibly thankful for this free archery range open to the public and serving the South Bay. The…read morerange is well maintained with a convenient and spacious parking lot. Easy to get to, and not too far from 85 freeway. First time here was many years ago at the Taste of Archery event for kids, and they loved it. We've been here many times since and greatly appreciate the kind leadership and staff who manage the range for the benefit of so many archers.

They do cash trade-ins day-of-sale unlike most gun shops in the area that only do consignment. They take the time to properly appraise what you bring in, make sure it's legal for sale in California and make sure all the required paperwork is filled out properly. Their prices are generally fair market value from what I've seen considering it's a cash-day-of trade-in. You'll be waiting for maybe an hour at most here to get paid for selling your stuff instead of the weeks that you would with a consignment sale or what passes for a private-party transaction in CA. Could you potentially get more selling privately or putting your stuff on consignment and waiting for it to move instead? Maybe, but their way of doing things avoids a lot of the multiple trips and waiting time that comes with doing either of those other two options instead in California. I would definitely recommend coming here if you have guns you need to sell urgently or if you would just rather not deal with selling on consignment or arranging a private-party sale yourself.

They got everything done for me same day which was unexpected. I sort of held of the whole store up with how much time they needed to service me, but they were very helpful and thorough, and the regulars that were stuck waiting behind me were also very friendly and full of advice. A bit of a drive for me, but they'll be my go-to going forward for all archery related needs. Lastly, keep in mind this is a small business, not a big box store. It's not super tidy in terms of browsing shelves, and they have limited staff, so come in with a good attitude and I'm sure they'll do right by you.

I'm left handed so be sure to call in advance to make sure the store has them in stock since they're typically low in inventory. Curtis, the owner, helped me get started with the a bow and arrows that best fit me. He was informative and patient with my questions. Afterwards, I was directed to Sammy at the range to get a feel for my equipment. He helped fix my shooting posture as well as my accuracy. Overall, great experience at the store and with the workers. Some people park lengthwise on the street, which takes up extra space, please park diagonally to the road on the dirt to leave room for others . That said, it's an awesome place to hike with your bow and arrow. I really appreciate that they offer this space to archers for free, though donations are definitely encouraged. The owner is super chill and really generous for providing this spot. They even offer free lessons, but be sure to sign up at least 15 days in advance! Also please keep it trash free! SV Bubble Soccer was incredible…read more The website is easy to navigate to book a game of bubble soccer with Jared and the team. Jared was extremely responsive via email when I had questions. Jared arrived at our company site on time and set up the game for us. He told us how the game works, and how to stay safe and have fun. A 1 hour seemed short, however, due to the game's intensity, 1 hour was plenty of time to play. The balls weigh ~13 lbs, so running around can be tiring. We had an incredible time with SV bubble soccer and will recommend them to anyone looking for a fun offsite or family activity.
